After researching many salons in the area I came to Salon Capelli. There were quite a few not-so-good reviews, however that happens anywhere and especially in this type of service. I was able to book online and within two days I had an appointment. I don't have much time for making phone calls so being able to book online or from my phone is very convenient. When I walked in for my appointment the receptionist at the front was very friendly which is a big deal because the places that I have been to before there is either not been anybody up front and you stand there or they just want to get you in and out and don't really make any eye contact or conversation. I had hope for my haircut and brow wax and I absolutely loved her!! Very personable and friendly. I will be back again.

She told me what she did after she made the cuts. Didn't ask me what I thought. The water heater is currently broken and she washed my hair with ice cold water. I was not even advised of this prior to her whacking off a chunk of my hair before washing it because that was easier for her. At this point it was too late to leave. My stylist talked a mile a minute and was making absolutely no sense. She then started a conversation with someone else. In the midst of that conversation she looked right at me and said quiet people give me the creeps. That is not even the half of it. No excuses for this behavior or horrible result. I just want my money back.

The color that was done is inconsistent with inexplicable bleach looking spots. Overall, nothing near the cut/color that was initially discussed or requested. I asked for my money back for the cut and was refused by Taylor herself, the manager, and the owner. They each cited "store policy" of no refunds, only offering to get my hair "fixed" by Taylor, and ONLY Taylor. Yes, they made sure I knew that if I wanted it "fixed" by any other stylist at the salon besides Taylor, I would be CHARGED for it! (There is no mention of this policy anywhere online where I booked the appointment, nor was this policy ever stated in any conversation online or in person before the service.) Not one of them offered a sincere apology, nor could Taylor explain her actions beyond using the words "accidently took too much off". More details- After arriving at the salon we discussed the cut which I explained thoroughly, my hairstyle was grown out and I needed a trim of the length and layers. I used my words to explain the cut, used my hand to show her where the length should fall, AND showed 3 pictures of how I keep my hair. Without warning or communication, she started dry chopping at my hair with scissors. Immediately it was noticeably uneven. At one point after the wash she made an unprompted, incredibly inappropriate joke which made me incredibly uncomfortable. At no point did she ask further questions about the cut, nor she communicate at all what she was doing when she began razoring off the hair at the nape of my neck. As soon as the razoring started I spiraled into an anxiety attack because I knew my hair would be beyond repair. Her behavior and demeanor became noticeably panicked. When she went to show me how she was styling my hair with a straight iron, she could not even curl it properly because it was so short and uneven. The color was least of my problems at that point, but it also wasn't what I asked for or discussed. I reached out immediately to request a refund. Instead I was given the opportunity to "fix" my hair as they 'don't offer refunds'. Manager was rude and combative on the phone, and wanted to see my hair before "discussing a refund". Come to find, she was never going to discuss a refund, she just wanted to get me back into the salon. Upon arriving I was effectively ambushed by Taylor, who had been told by her manager that she was "fixing" my hair. Their offer was a free scalp treatment and "pampering". Because that's what every woman wants after getting all of her hair cut off without consent right? I told them that I didn't want anyone else touching my hair, and there was no "fixing" it. After escalating my issue to the owner, she had the audacity to tell me "you still have hair left" and that Taylor had given me a "french bob". Reader- look at the pictures and be the judge. (also DIDNT ASK FOR A BOB OF ANY KIND!!) What could have been as simple as apologizing for screwing up and giving me my money back for a completely botched service, turned in to me having to argue with 3 grown women that they needed to make an exception to "policy" due to the situation. I had to purchase a wig to cover this atrocity while it grows out, which is going to take months for the sides and probably a year for the back. I didn't receive a sincere apology or explanation from any of them.

Ingrid is terrific--she cut my hair for years and also did a great job with my first professional color. My most recent stylist is Tasha. I've seen her twice--once for my regular cut and next for a whole new style--and will go back next month, when she'll give me a purple balayage on my dark brown hair. I saw two other stylists at some point, but I can't remember their names at the moment (as I said, I've been going here for a long time). I've never had a bad experience and highly recommend Salon INK--to my friends and you.

It must be said, I don't have easy hair, it is very thick and naturally very curly, so most people cannot cut it correctly, but Terra does. She is super sweet and friendly. Avalon in general is a really nice set up, you walk in and it is a building filled with suites for every service you can imagine. The nice part about it, is you feel like you are going to an old friend, because everyone there is their own business (kind of like a farmers market of beauty!). I've been in wedding parties that have gone and so I've actually met several of the ladies there, but of course Terra is my favorite. Just a note, everyone there takes credit cards, but since this is a small business, if you can pay with check or cash, it helps them avoid the additional fees for credit cards. (they are all too nice to mention it, but it is a nice gesture if you can remember to do it.)

When I left at 5, I went to a salon where the gal felt so bad for me she stripped and re-colored my hair and didn't even charge me! I figured I would hear from Tiffany on Friday to see how I was, but she didn't care enough to call even though I'd left in tears the night before. I shared my unhappiness with her and here is the text message I received back: I apologize if you feel that way but I won't apologize for my service being offered. If after 5 hours to correct what was not to your liking and I've done everything I could and you were still not satisfied then it's best that you went somewhere else to "fix" my mistake. After all the years I've been in the industry, I still have continued success and great relationships with my returning clients whom we share both value and respect to one another. I have never heard of any salon nor stylist to offer to fix someone's hair for 3.5 hours and not charge. And to ask for a refund is not only embarrassing on your behalf but is disrespectful in some right. Despite the monetary value, the time invested doesn't equal to what I Had deal with for a prospective client like yourself. I understand as a stylist I offer my services to clients to their liking and I take pride in what I do but for someone to cry bc the way I made them feel is a little juvenile. At 1:57 pm, I received this from Tiffany's boyfriend: Sorry if there's any misunderstanding but I'm an admin on Tiffany's page. I believe that she had every intention to correct what ever issue you two had but to go as far as writing a bad review on her business page goes to show what kind of person you are. Hope nothing but the best for you as far as finding a stylist that will be attentive to your liking. Again, our upmost sincere apologies and good luck to you in the future. UNBELIEVABLE!!!! What an awful experience from start to finish. Clearly I think this shows what kind of people THEY are, not me. But you can bet, I'll share her "intellectual property" with anyone I can. Never got any; I looked at the online booking schedule and it was set to 'requires confirmation'. I called multiple times at the phone number but always got voice mail. I left a message twice but never got a response. Finally, I physically went to the location but the business is behind an electronic lock. I did not know the code. I looked through the window and only one person was working and she had her back to me. I was too embarrassed to rap on the window as obviously I did have the secret handshake. Oh well, so sad for me.

Very pricey salon but worth it for the work they do. I have just never been burned in all the years I've been getting bleached, and I didn't appreciate the fact no one reached back out.
