Good - food excellent Bad - service mediocre. Initial service was good but waitress never came back to ask if beverage refills were required or provide an explanation why food delivery was slow. Recently dined here with family. Their menu was huge! Little to no gluten free options available. Ordered a salad and told it was not available it was only a seasonal salad.. fine. Ordered a garden salad with chicken. BOY was I upset.. a few pieces of lettuce with a few carrot shavings and a couple tomatoes. I expected a full chicken breast and received maybe a few pieces of cubed chicken. It did not taste good, so plain. Very disappointing for a $20 salad. My wife and I have driven through Princeton several times in past years, going back and forth to the coast but only for a quick stop for gas and snacks. Yesterday the timing was just before dinner hour and we both were getting really hungry. My wife googled restaurants in Princeton. We decided to try the Copper Pit. Quite modest inside but extremely clean. Well well what a great find. We decided to share the bbq platter, fantastic , apparently all smoked on site. Also had the bbq egg rolls, made from scratch. Everything made fresh on site. The service was also excellent, very friendly and attentive. We live in Kelowna and definitely will be driving out occasionally just for the food. This weekend we ordered the Ceasar 2.0 and wow it is an entire meal - 2 cheeseburgers, 2 ribs, 2 chicken wings, 2 homemade jalapeño poppers (delicious!), and a ton of pickles. The hamburger patties are home made and the wings and ribs have a fresh smoked flavour. All freshly made. We also ordered the signature Mac n cheese dish with smoked meat in it and also so good! Ordered the ribs with two sides. The precooked ribs came with a gob of ketchup on the top. After getting a mouthful of ketchup and questioning the staff they said their sauce is made from ketchup mixed with something else but it tasted like straight ketchup. Disgusting!!! I didn't eat it and they had the nerve to charge me $13 ++for two sides I did eat because I was v hungry after a long day of physical work. The food was fantastic and you could taste the care that went into it. My husband's clubhouse was "one of the best he's ever had" and the mushroom soup was silky, creamy and very flavorful. Service can be pretty subpar. The food is inconsistent, so sometimes I have gone in and it's really good while other times it's really bad. Have had a drink served in a very dirty glass (lipstick on the rim) and given the excuse of "oh we dont have a dishwasher right now". Overall a bit if a gamble. We were a group of 20, including lots of kids. They put us in their banquet room. It was quite nice. My son had Grilled cheese and fries. We split the meat platter. He loved his meal. The smoked meat was absolutely fantastic. The brisket was melt in your mouth. Sides were tasty, The servings are very large. The restaurant was clean.
