Don't trust Google to present the services provided by The Copy Shop. Case in point: I needed a digital photo to renew my passport. I entered the following search terms in Google: "traverse city digital passport photo". Google listed three businesses under the "Places" label, one of which was The Copy Shop. When I drove to the Shop, however, I was told it doesn't provide digital passport photos. Granted, this may not be the Shop's fault. I expected Google to list businesses which satisfied all five "search" words. Google may have been programmed to display those which satisfy even just a few of the words. Nonetheless, the result was a wasted trip. So beware: if you use Google to locate businesses which provide a service, and it lists The Copy Shop, call the Shop to verify it offers the service before driving there. read more

If delays, excuses and incompetence are your thing, then the Copy Shop of TC is for you. I took an image to them on a Friday in late July/early August to have printed and stretched on a frame. Was told it would be 7-10 days. Great! Monday I received a call saying my print was ready for pick up. Surprised, mentioned it was to be stretched/framed. After some confusion, they apologized and said it would be sent right out. Then nothing. Called back early September, was told the person I was working with was on vacation. I called the following Monday, was told it wasn't sent out yet. Waited another couple weeks, called and was told the company they use for mounting on the frame was backed up. Yesterday I called again, let them know my disappointment in trying to do the right thing by going local/small business rather than online. They called me this morning to say it was ready and I would receive a discount. Went to pick it up... it wasn't my picture. Told them it was a pleasure trying to do business with them and left. I won't be taking or referring any further business there. *After posting original review, they called me and tried to give further excuses about how busy they are and tell me how in 35 years this is a first? That's supposed to make it okay? I'd been polite and composed up to this point, but nearly lost it at this further insult to injury. You tried to make it right? By giving me a discount on a product I waited over 6 weeks for and when delivered wasn't even my picture? Do better Dan. This type of customer experience is exactly why people take their business to online providers. read more

This is my go-to place in TC for copies and everything paper related! The prices are good as well. I go there when I need multiple copies or need to fax or scan/email something. The staff is so helpful, and the office dog, Rosie, is always there to greet customers. Dan, the owner, always remembers my name and is willing to troubleshoot, as are the others who work there, as I am not the most savvy computer person. I highly recommend this business! read more

The Copy Shop did a great job printing up directional signage and wedding announcements for our recent wedding! We brought in our own designs for both the signs and the announcements and the staff was ready and able to help us pick paper and get things made in a timely fashion. Prices are reasonable too. The employees in this store are extremely helpful an willing to assist with whatever you need. Walked in there needing a last minute print on cardstock, but needed to pull the file from my email and did not have the proper paper with me. They have a computer to use and individual paper to buy (no need to buy more than you require). Glad I found The Copy Shop on the drive back from Kinkos as they could not offer these services. read more

Never again! I was a customer for 5 years! I had an order in June that was messed up, they charged me for a project but never gave it to me! Then in July, I had another project, and I STILL have yet to receive my project and my prints back! 5 months! Ironic. They apparently didn't understand a n email that read, "do not do anything, please send me back my items." Absolutely NEVER again! The owner is also not very nice, and insulted me in an email. My friend and I went to the copy shop yesterday to purchase some basic services. Upon arriving at the store, we overheard one staff member making rude remarks about how an individual she knew, or who worked within the store, was a "stupid idiot" and was being "retarded." Other customers were in the store at the time as well. We merely came in to fax a few papers. My friend and I have been there in the past for various other basic services, and have been met with discouraging service and poor customer treatment. Many times we have had to simply turn around and take our business elsewhere due to the inability for staff members to meet our simple requests. Not only were we disappointed to find the services inadequate after reading many positive reviews, but poor treatment of customers threw us over the edge. Needless to say, we will not be back. read more

Terrible experience. Had tried them last year, they were not great at the job, but it was convenient for the person handling the drop-off and pick-up. We had a relatively small job of copying something onto card stock, cutting each card to size, and that was it. We had the exact same job this year. They cut each piece different sizes, and lost some of the pieces both years. This year, they lost at least 16 pieces out of about 107. Unbelievable. I called to complain, the person was sympathetic, agreed with me, offered for me to speak to the owner. He never called, I tried to reach him another day, he was too busy, and never returned my call. After complaining to my husband who works at the hospital - he also sent a job there and it was not done correctly. The Copy Shop just lost a lot of regular business from both of us. read more

I recently had my wedding Save the Dates, Invites, & RSVP's printed here. The service was awful. The entire process was difficult. I made my own designs and sent it to them in the format they requested. The lady I worked with emailing back and forth, was very rude the entire time, like I was wasting her time with my inquires. When I went to check the proofs, the colors and lettering was off. I made a comment to the lady at the counter and she said they printed exactly what I sent, so it must have been my design that was flawed. When another lady walked in, the lady I was working with told me she would be able to help. This new lady looked at the clock, looked back at me, and said she was still on lunch for another 10 minutes and would help then. Apparently, the issue was with the printer because they had problems with another order on that same printer earlier in the day. So they were quick to blame me, when it was their machine that was to blame. They re-printed my proofs and they were much better. The product was near perfect, but the service was awful. I will not use their services again. read more
