Great fair. We went Saturday night. We parked at the Crown Point HS and bused over. There were…read morequite a few buses that were being used so we did not wait long. We were able to put our kids stroller in the back of the bus, which helped a lot. The fair itself is very spacious. I am not a huge fan of big crowds and I did not feel over crowded at all. We did not ride any rides but there were plenty of food options, seating options and drink options. The highlight of the fair for us were the animals. My son enjoyed walking through the pens of the cows, horses, goats and much more. We had a fantastic time.

This was our first time to the county fair and boy was it rainy. We still wanted to go and see all…read morethe fun festivities and made the most of it. We started by going into the fair ground building where there were all the submissions for the fair, it's so amazing to see how creative folks are. We also got to watch a k9 demonstration and learned more about the program and how the pups are trained. Then we shopped around to support some of the local vendors and got our fair merch before heading outside. Once we headed it we saw the pig races where one round all the piggies needed to go number 2 during the race which actually made for a funny time haha. we then visited all the farm animals, and saw where the auctions take place. Then of course we had to try some of the fun fair food. This time we got the sirloin tips with potatoes and mushroom, kinda crazy for some fair food, but it was actually quite delicious! From there we got some deep fried Oreos which is always a great guilty pleasure. Couldn't be a full experience without washing it down with a slushie and fresh squeeze lemonade. We ended with a bucket of cheese fries which seemed to be never ending. The fair itself does have entry tickets costs & if you wanted prime parking for easy in and out that also cost an additional cost. Also keep in mind that fair games and rides are not included and the tickets only include the entry to the fair. Overall, we were shocked at some of the prices of fair food but overall had a great experience. As we were leaving the concerts and monster truck shows were started. You do need to pay for the monster truck show and buy tickets in advance if you were interested in that.

We were both instantly intrigued. Thoughtful and cute design details. The more I looked at the business, the closer I was drawn in, and then I saw that they had a lemon creme drink, which the owner described as kinda like Italian ice blended with ice cream, and I was sold on that, but then she added that it was topped with homemade marshmallow fluff and a lemon creme wafer o_o. A team of cuddly porcupines couldn't drag me away from this. Besides the lemon creme ($5), we also ordered frozen hot chocolate ($5), homemade smores marshmallow bites and a moon pie. OMG everything was delicious! The best marshmallows I've ever had. The drinks were incredible, topped with the best marshmallow fluff; marshmallow fluff from the jar, goodbye! And the homemade moon pie was a blessed treat from above that I wistfully shed tears over for leaving us too soon (we intended to slowly eat that moon pie, but I doubt that it lasted over 1 minute in our care). Inventive, creative, high quality. Very friendly owner. Highly recommend!

People, here is a genuine diamond in the rough!…read more I came in for something to drink and ended up not only with a bottle of IBC Black cherry cola but also with the 2 piece jerk chicken box lunch to go. They give you a choice of dark meat or white meat and I chose the latter. The chicken was well cooked and mildly spiced, although the breast was slightly dry. As for the spice, for me it was fine, but I suspect it might be on the mild side for lovers of jerk spice. Not so with the bed of red beans and rice it was served on. This is an ample portion and was not only delicious but came with quite a spicy kick. Red beans and rice weren't the only side either, the cabbage the box lunch came with was tender and delicious. Wait is that white bread home made. Yes it is! You just don't see that in even some higher end places. This is a family owned place and I got a chance to talk with them a bit and what a bunch of really nice people. This place is currently nestled between the hotel villages to the West and Southlake mall on the East. There is more than one vacant business or building and the lack of maintenance on the surrounding grounds made me wonder if the restaurant was open for business. I am glad it was. They certainly make up on the inside for what is lacking outside. The interior has ample dining space, is cheerfully decorated in an island theme and they have reggae playing softly in the background. The owners mentioned they are looking at a more welcoming location close by. But if you are looking for an inexpensive but delicious box lunch give this place a try. I don't think you would be disappointed.
