My husband and I were in Crown Point for our daughter's volleyball. We decided to grab a bite during one of her breaks. Bedarra Bar was close, we thought why not. We went around 530, and the place was busy. It got super busy as dinner time rolled around. We sat at the bar and the greeted by the bartender. We ordered two drinks and two entrees to share. I had the Reyka and the Shrimp Étouffée (featured special). My husband ordered the Bedarra Old Fashioned and the Southern Fried Chicken. Our drinks were phenomenal. The presentation of mine was not what I expected. Loved the aesthetics! The Shrimp Étouffée was not one of our favorites. Shrimp was cooked to perfection but the rice and sauce ok, it was bland. The southern fried chicken was really good. It was flavorful and juicy. Definitely coming back when our daughter plays out there again. Nice place to grab a drink and a quick bite. read more

This was our second time here. The first visit was great which is why we came back. This time was ok but honestly I would not return based on all the other options we have in this area. The lobster roll was very fishy smelling and tasting and not at all worth $25. The hanger steak was overcooked and chewy. Not worth the $22 cost. What a nice little hidden gem this place is! My friend suggested this place as a meet up for anual Christmas gift exchange. (Yes I know is January. We don't all stay in the Midwest). We walked in to a full house. I mean packed. I just know it was a wait. But no the hosted said they was going to get a table shortly. Once the rest of party arrived it was time to get to the table. I love Bedarra! It's my go to for a special lunch, brunch and have several dinners here. For lunch, I have gotten the heirloom sandwich, the Italian, the baos, beet salad, always truffle fries! For dinner, the burrata, fried chicken, Mac and cheese, brunch baos, mussels and the steak. All amazing!!!!! I usually get the drink with the bubble on top. Both the lemon and the pink one are super tasty. The service is great and I love the lounge vibe! It's A+. This is the best restaurant in the area! read more

Was spending time in Crown Point at a friend's house in the Bridgeport neighborhood and picked up takeout from Bedarra. Very reasonably priced, and was packaged in all recyclable packaging. We got the charcuterie board, the chicken lettuce cups, and a slider. Two of us made a meal out of it and had plenty of leftovers for a second snack. I'm a Crown Point native and am frankly thrilled to see some nice places going into Bridgeport. It's a great neighborhood, mixed light industrial. Bedarra and the new coffee shop across the street give the neighborhood a nice vibe. read more

The ambiance of this place is lovely, the location is quiet, and the servers and bartenders were very attentive. That being said, they really need to work on their menu. I ordered their special cocktail, a mango mojito. It was overwhelmed with lime that it almost tasted like sour mix, and there was no hint of mango flavor at all - just unripe mango chunks at the bottom. I don't think they used ripe mangoes otherwise that would help the cocktail. We ordered the vegetable fried rice special. As an Asian person, I was low-key appalled. No Asian would drench their fried rice in thick hollandaise sauce like they did here. The rice was super wet that it would more accurately be called a risotto. The bruschetta trio was unfortunately the most underwhelming: the mushrooms were under seasoned and inconsistent in texture (some more raw and chewy than others), the shrimp was definitely overcooked, and "rustic bread" tasted stale and was dry. Please add some salt to this or even just toast the bread a bit. I'd like to give this place the benefit of a doubt because it would be so necessary for the area....but it's definitely not perfect yet. read more

In Crown Point on business I researched the most "upscale" bar in the area and found Bedarra. I went on a Wednesday evening the bar was pretty quiet. I tried both old Fashioneds on the menu, both were excellent. I ordered the mac n cheese and it was amazing!!! Im in the area a few times a year and will certainly return. read more

Wow! We have needed a place like this in CP. We went on a weekday evening. There was patio seating but we opted to sit inside. Very relaxed and pleasant vibe, server and kitchen people were super friendly. I had the Marilee lemon drink and it came with a bubble on top "lemon blast" it was very good. We tried the truffle fries, southern fried chicken thighs, arancini de Rosa, and the pan seared feta with toast points. It was all outstanding and fresh. Just ordered take out from here and it was horrible. I got the meet platter and Mac n cheese. They threw all the meet together in one box on top of each other. The steak was somehow overcooked and raw. The Asian chicken tasted like washed off teriyaki chicken. The Mac n cheese was so burnt it tasted like a bland, burn bagel with cheese. We'd had a rough several days tending to my mother in law in the hospital. It was our 23rd wedding anniversary and we'd had other plans before things went south. We were ready to just go home and have a meal at home but remembered hearing about Bedarra. So glad we stopped in. The place was lively and inviting. Annabelle got us situated and explained the concept. We gravitated to the spicy chicken lettuce wraps and some taco varieties. Each had their own signature flavor. It paired well with a nice Pinot Noir. Then came time for desserts. Amazing. Oh and we got to meet the owner, Ann. She was delightful. We've since returned twice and plan to entertain out of town family in April so it's a place we truly like. Emily took care of us on a return and Annabelle stopped by to say hello, too. read more

I just can't say enough good things about this place. This is like my 5th time here in less than a year. I don't live in the area, but always my go to when in the town. The food is consistently good and innovative. You don't feel like the appetizer's are Costco specials. Cocktails are really creative and quality ingredients. Staff is always pleasant. We were there last night and manager/owner? stopped by to see how everything was and thanked us for dining when leaving. We went Sunday Brunch around 12:30 there was only one other table. We were told only the Brunch menu was all that was available, which is limited. They had two specials as well- we ordered the French toast special, the shrimp and grits, and two side orders of bacon. My French toast came out first, cold when it arrived, my wife's shrimp and grits came out 6 minutes later, our bacon came out 15 minutes after my French toast. No one seemed concerned- I left 3/4s of my meal- as it was cold, they picked up the barely touched plate and never asked if there was something wrong. I guess we just went on a bad day. read more
