We are so lucky to get 1 spot for reservation. The place is cozy and clean. Friendly staff. The complimentary bread with olive oil & balsamic vinegar taste good. We ordered broccoli cheddar soup & oysters for a start. For our mains, we get the chicken Parmesan & prime rib medium rare steak. I can't believe I finished 12oz steak, that was sooo good, it melts in my mouth. The serving was huge that I thought I was not able to finished it but surprisingly, I did finish my 12oz steak. I loved it. And they have a 3 meal course too for $55/head on weekdays (I forgot the days) but definitely coming back for that.

BEEF BOURGUIGNON CAESAR SALAD CHARITY BREAD

This is a family take out meal that the Restaurant offered during the pandemic. The main course, the beef was Tender Sautéed Beef Medallions and Roasted Mushroom Ravioli tossed in Marsala Mushroom Sauce with Pancetta, Pearl Onion & Peas- lots of quality flavours and quantity of food. The salad had eye popping bacon flowers and garlic was not overpowering either. The desert was lovely, rich but not overpoweringly sweet or sticky like some cheesecake can be. Would order this again and just as the food served in house, prepared and bundled up for eating at home with the same care and quality.

I have to admit that I am a bit biased because I live within walking distance of this venue. That aside, I can't image that I am going to properly capture the true atmosphere, ambiance and sincere love that this place has and regularly does generate for me on every visit. I have been going to the Corner House with my wife for about 4 years now. The mood of the place has changed a bit over that time, but for those who don't live within walking distance, let me assure you that the drive to the nether regions of Keswick proper are well worth it. What it is: A classic small family restaurant that serves impeccably designed food at a reasonable price. It is a local staple, a place where regulars who enjoy high quality cuisine go to enjoy the ideas and execution of the house chefs on a monthly and even weekly basis. Picture the best restaurant in Toronto without the attitude, drama and aloof wait staff. You're getting close, but it still doesn't capture it. What it is Not: A stuffy, snooty high class eatery where you have to look down your nose at the wait staff, owners and fellow guests. This is a place of food and friendship. If you are not prepared to get a hug when you enter and a hug when you leave, go somewhere else. This restaurant is not for the shy or faint of heart. It is for those that are willing to declare their love of great food; great wine and excellent company and live the experience out loud. You will get out of the Corner House what you put into it. It is the best of both worlds. World class fine dining by the beautify Lake Simcoe, and a venue small and intimate enough to attract the likes of Bob De Niro on a regular basis. He comes for the Pumpkin Cheese Cake like the rest of us caught in its magical spell. FYI Christine makes the Pumpkin Cheesecake just like she makes all the deserts. From scratch. By Hand. Fresh. Daily. The level of commitment to food and taste is what sets this place apart. The dedication from the owners to high quality food, great service, and a down to earth attitude lift this establishment above and beyond what you might expect from restaurants in the area, and fine dining establishments at large. The Corner House is more than a restaurant. It's a refuge. A place where you can go and feel assured that the food, the staff and the service will be top notch, so that all those worries can be lifted from your shoulders, and you can focus on forgetting the world, and enjoying the creations set before you.

Both my Mom and I had the Haddock & Chips special they were running for $8... all things considered the food wasn't that bad. The fish (5/5) was pretty good. Par as far as expectations go for crispiness and flavour. The chips (4/5) were also pretty good. My only gripe (and it's a stretch) is that the portion size was kind of ridiculous (too much!) The coleslaw (2/5) wasn't that inspiring. It was somewhat dry, lacking a vinegar or dressing to give it any flavour. Anybody can shred a cabbage and instantly have better coleslaw than this. The beverages (2/5) for dine-in customers weren't any different from the take-out ones, which definitely detracted from the experience. Water was served in a cup/glass but pop was can-only. I'm not going to stick around for dessert if I can't get a fountain beverage. The ambiance (1/5) is cold and uninviting. The lights are so bright that my eyes hurt. Not a place to go for an intimate meal. The tables and chairs are sparse, as if to say "we don't anticipate filling this restaurant with customers". The decor (3/5) was clean and sharp but there's not much of anything interesting to cast your eyes on while you wait save for a single TV that only a quarter of the restaurant can see. The staff (3/5) was highly attentive to all tables, but there were more than a few instances where staff were just loitering about in the dining room or talking on their cell phones, which was somewhat uncomfortable since we were mere feet away. The checkout experience (1/5) was made incredibly awkward by their POS device from Clover. The brand-new touch-screen device wasn't responding properly to the screen being tapped. No checkout experience is comfortable when the server (albeit necessarily) has to hover over the customer in case anything (which likely will here) go wrong. Kudos to our server though - she did a great job walking us through the transaction. I'm not one for permanent reviews, so if the owner ends up reading this... continue to make incremental positive changes to the restaurant and I'll be back!

Pros: The staff are consistently friendly and always remind you about the regular and gluten‑free menus, which offer a variety of options like fish and chips, fries, battered pineapple, and poutine. I have Celiac Disease and have eaten here many times with no issues related to cross‑contamination. My two favourites are the gluten‑free battered mushrooms with house sauce and the poutine -- both generous portions, the mini poutine fills me up. Food is made fresh to order and comes out hot. Simple ordering process you order from their food truck, which has a little sheltered interior. Typically I wait 7-15 mins for the food to be ready, theres also free condiments and seasoning that can be used, and there is a small outdoor picnic areas to sit. It's a nice spot to stop for lunch. Cons: Parking can be difficult during peak times. The food is on the expensive side, especially the gluten‑free menu (which I have to order from due to Celiac). The to‑go utensils are a bit flimsy 50% of the time the forks break, and the elastic bands use to hold the togo lids on broke on 2 out of 3 items I ordered, and one spilled my last trip, which was frustrating. (I'd get gravy on the side just next time). Sometimes the battered mushrooms have a fishy smell makes me believe they are using the same oil as the fish which i dont like, with the mushrooms being a vegetarian option. Finally they dont accept credit cards only cash and debit which may be a hassle to some. Overall I would recommend this restaurant/ food truck to others :)

We ordered the Consome Soup (Lamb Broth) and the Camarones a la Mexicana Tacos (Shrimp). We were given complimentary nachos as well. The Camarones a la Mexicana Tacos (Shrimp) (5/5) was well made. The shrimp was plump and succulent. It was complemented well with the zestiness of the sauce and the lime. This time I ordered tacos and I was surprised that they didn't have ground beef tacos, only pork, shrimp, chicken or sausage. We started with the nachos, which was served with enchilada sauce instead of salsa, but it worked. Then I had the shredded chicken tacos, which turned out to be chunks of chicken breast - not shredded - on soft, soggy tacos. The first one I lifted up fell right through the taco. It was supposed to be served with tomato sauce but all I saw was one thin slice of tomato peel in one of the tacos. It was so dry, I could barely swallow it. We mentioned it to one of the servers and she offered to replace my meal and brought me the menu again. She never came back though and my friend finished eating his dinner. When the bill came it included the food I'd returned and when we mentioned it they did remove it from the bill. On the way out I passed the server who had said she would come back to take my order and I was a bit sarcastic when I said "Thanks a lot for coming back", and her reply was "Sorry about that." I left, not impressed with either the food or the service.

I love that all menu items are customizable in all The Keg locations (can sub in, take out, or add certain ingredients or add-ons such as vegetables). They always have at least 1 vegetarian main dish on the menu, which tends to change every once in a while. We tried their most recent one, The Harvest Bowl, which consisted of basmati rice, falafels, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, and spiced yogurt. It was alright. They provided the option of choosing how I wanted the roasted salmon to be cooked (e.g. medium, medium well, well done, etc.) - always great to have that choice.
