Special - Roasted duck
Mark H.

A great dinner with an are of a small family restaurant. The staff were attentive, including the the owner and his wife. They have a great wine selection, a menu with loads of options. Looking for something a bit off the menu, the evening I stopped by for dinner, they had three dinner specials and a special dessert. If you are looking for a great Italian meal, be sure to check out Luna

Bruschetta. So fresh and tasty
Ryan L.

Went here tonight driving through new market looking for a place to eat. Wow, this place is delicious. Firstly, the host and owner are amazing. We had a quick chat with Dominic (hope it's spelled right), amazing people, super friendly, helpful and you can see they have an amazing way with their customers. We asked for recommendations and were told it was all good. Pastas are made in house , sauces are all made, no fillers or short cuts. It showed in the quality of the food and at very fair prices. Start off with our appetizers. Was gonna just get the grilled calamari, but our waitress also said the bruschetta was good so gave that a whirl. It was very good. Nice warm Crispy bread and fresh tomatoes beautifully seasoned. The grilled squid had a bit of char which was nice and cooked to perfection. It was served with arugula and tomatoes. Very tasty dish For the mains we shared a funghi pizza (with truffle oil) and a pasta. Pasta was so soft and fresh another thing that is made in house, with a beautiful sauce. Had to use the complimentary bread to make sure I soaked up the sauce. The pizza i felt was the star, wow the dough is so light and fluffy. I'm usually not a big fan of truffle oil but it was a delicious pizza. Had to try the home made tiramisu for dessert, it didn't disappoint and paired nicely with a coffee. This place is really great. It's a mom and pop type place and the owner said they are only open for dinner Tues to Sat. So don't go on the off days or you will be disappointed. I would love to come back here and try the rest of the food. Overall amazing experience. 5 stars no doubt about it

Good flavors, pasta was just right fresh and al dente, had a great meal again. Went there for a birthday, friendly service, they had a few options as their specials. Will come again for sure!

This place is operated by the father of the owner of Il Postino of Markham. The quality of food exceeds. We had bruschetta as first course, the grilled calamari as appetizer, the seafood risotto and the duck breast as main course. The dinner is ended with a beautiful Bailey crème brûlée. Everything is so perfect. Strongly recommend.

I love this restaurant even it is hard to make a reservation. Food and service are outstanding. My husband order something not Italian famous dish, chicken breast, turns out it is tender and juicy, so incredible ! I order seafood linguine, the linguine is not flat as usual I have but it is fresh made and chewy. I love the overall experience. Definitely recommend this!

We had a table with my nieces and nephew, and they were very friendly, even with all of the kid noise. Ambiance: 5/5 Nice family-style restaurant, very homey and cozy, but clean and well maintained. Felt very comfortable! Food: 4/5 Fettuccine Alfredo with Shrimp - very nice, the flavour wasn't a typical Alfredo that tasted like it was from a jar. Definitely one of the better alfredo's I've had in the GTA!

Parking: Freeeeee Decor: It feels like a step above fast food which is funny because the menu makes you think they don't think this of themselves. The menu is that of a homie Italian place. But it definitely does not have that feel. Food: Italian. Pasta, salads, pizza. Foods good. I've been a few times and we come with groups of people sometimes and quality is good I really like starting with a salad and getting the gnocchi. Their pizzas are really good too. You could tell from the way the waiters talk with other guests that there are a lot of people that are regulars. I do have to say I've been here quite a few times and I've never had anything to complain about and no one's ever complained about the food when we've come in groups This is a good place to come with groups because there tends to be something for everybody. You can build a pizza or pasta dish. Oh that being said I'm not sure about gluten-free offerings. I didn't know they have salads. I'm not sure if there's gluten-free pasta I have not come with someone who's gluten free

Tried Italian North of the city and it was good…read more Pretty busy on a weekend so be sure to rsvp. Upon entering, you'll notice it's not the biggest restaurant but they use their space efficiently to maximize tables. Their drinks were a good pour, came nice and stiff. Cesar salad was salad and homemade dressing. Dressing was fresh with a hint of mustard. I enjoyed that slight variation. Didn't come with Parmesan cheese or croutons - not sure I'm in for or against that as of yet. Pastas were good. Had a spaghetti carbonara and a farfalle carbone which had smaller sized tiger shrimp. A little pricy for what it was but still really amazing food.

Casa, means home in Italian. I was hoping this restaurant would hold true to its name. However, I…read morecan't tell you how unwelcome I felt the moment my family (me and my two kids) stepped foot in this restaurant. On a Wednesday evening just past 8:00pm, we arrived at the doors of the restaurant and was greeted by I presume the owner of the business who mumbled something along the lines of them getting ready to close shop. And if we are dining in we should make it a quick one. This is despite the fact, that they were scheduled to close at 9:30, both according to their sign and Google. Anyways, we were seated by the owner and eventually served by the server. To be objective the server was courteous and generally competent, however, he did fail to top up our waters throughout the duration of the meal. Food wise it was above average. The Caesar salad was quite different from most restaurants where there's no croutons, no bacon and no shaved cheese. But I thought it was enjoyable and I like the fact that the salad had traces of anchovy taste. The Margherita pizza was alright. The tomato sauce was refreshing and the cheese tasted right. The flour had a a pretty good floury taste, but the body of the pizza could be a bit more well done. My favourite part of the meal was the Bucatini All'Amatriciana pasta. It's an interesting pasta texture that I've never experience before; clearly homemade. The guanciale gave the pasta a nice umami taste. However, the above average food was not enough to overcome the unwelcoming feeling that hung over us. One thing I forgot to mention is before the meal, I had a couple pieces of garbages from my kids that I wanted to dispose of. The washroom had no garbage bin and on the way out they had a box that resembled garbage bins in a fast food restaurant. I mistakened it for a garbage bin and after I disposed of the garbage, I was told by the same owner that it was not a garbage can. Although I wouldn't say he was totally rude, the statement was blunt and the facial expression and body language pretty much gave it away. One thing that was positive about the experience was at least their transparency toward their non-participation in the tax break government initiative. They had a sign posted right on their main entrance. Mi Casa, Sous casa... my AXX... no wait that's Spanish. Whatever... you know how I feel about Casa Carbone.

The Margherita is always a classic -- fresh, perfectly balanced, and with that amazing crust -- while the Fungi had such rich, earthy flavor and was done perfectly. Of course, the chili oil just takes everything to the next level. We also tried the Crostata al Cioccolato with pistachio for dessert and WOW... absolutely delicious. Rich, chocolatey with that perfect pistachio touch -- such a unique and indulgent combination and the perfect sweet ending to the meal. The food, the quality, and the chill atmosphere keep me coming back every single time. Service is always top tier. Definitely one of my favorite spots -- highly recommend!

Ah Locale. Where do I begin?…read more I love you. Don't ever change. I have had so many great experiences here and they are one of the most consistent restaurants I've ever been to. Excellent quality food. And the ambiance is great. We were seated right by the talented musician which was fantastic. The one thing..please please tell your customers the specials! I had to ask. And good thing I did.. What we ordered: 1. Mussels on special 5/5 The sauce was spicy but not too spicy and so flavourful. The mussels were cooked perfectly. And the yummy house made bread was a delicious vehicle to soak up that sauce 2. Romeo et Giulietta cocktail and Cherry Vermilion cocktail. Both delicious and perfectly balanced. 5/5 3. Branzino: 10/5 yes. That crispy skin was soo good. Perfectly seasoned and cooked and the puree and rice and kale accompanied it perfectly. Ok I need to know. How did you do that kale?! How?! I think butter was involved but that's all I got. The best tasting kale I've ever had. 4. Paccheri al Cinghaiale: 4.5/5 My brother ordered this. It was really good just not as good as mine. 5. The salted caramel dessert. 5/5 Make sure you take your spoon all the way to bottom to get all the good stuff. Delish. I'll see you again very soon Locale. That sounds creepy but no, I'm going back again this week.

I brought a group of 12 for a birthday dinner, and from the moment we arrived, we were treated with utter contempt by a server named Gustavo, who apparently also owns the establishment. The disrespect started immediately. While we were simply organizing our seating (before even ordering), he became visibly angry and hostile. After our appetizers arrived, he completely abandoned the table. Our used plates were never cleared, we were never asked how the food was, and we waited over an hour for our main courses. When we tried to order another round of drinks while waiting, Gustavo told us he was "way too busy" to take our order and that we "needed to figure it out" despite us being ready to order. When I politely mentioned that I hadn't ordered an appetizer and was very hungry, asking if my pizza could come out, he snapped, "You will get your order when all the others come out. I'm not going to push ahead your order for that." The "owner" then had the audacity to lecture us, raising his voice and telling us, "this is what I mean with you guys," because we had adjusted our seats at the beginning of the night. When I finally asked for the bill to escape the situation, he brought me someone else's check. When I pointed out the error, he blamed us again, laughed in our faces, and scoffed. When we told him we wanted to speak to someone above him, he condescendingly told us, "You're not in this industry, you don't know." Save your money and go somewhere where the staff, and the owner actually value their customers. Gustavo is unprofessional, disrespectful, and has no business being in the hospitality industry. Absolutely disgusting behavior.
