    Smash burger and sweet potatoes
    Nancy S.

This is my second visit and the food is delicious. My friend and I had the smash burger. She had the grits and I had the sweet potatoes. Everything was delicious. The burger was juicy and cooked to perfection. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh. The grits and potatoes were also good. The restaurant is cute and cozy. The service was okay. I will return because of the food quality.

What a hidden gem in Oregon! The food portions were generous and the prices were very reasonable. Everything we ordered was delicious and well worth it. The service was friendly and attentive throughout our meal, which made the experience even better. The decor had a charming and cozy! We sat next to a bookshelf filled with old recipe books, which added a unique and homey touch to the space. Overall, a great find. Would definitely come back next time I'm in the area!

If you are in the mood for a homey vibe, cute dishes, and laid back cafe, this is your place. We got there at 8 when they opened and were seated right away. The waitress let us know she was the only one and the other waitress wasn't there yet. Seemed like just having one person really backed up the process since when we left people were waiting outside. I ordered the blackstone which came with a fried tomato, lemon spinach, thick cut bacon, poached egg and bearnaise sauce, plus the side salad for an extra $2. It was good but a few points about the dish. 1) the bearnaise sauce was good and creamy, kind of like hollandaise without the tang so the spinach helped that. 2) the tomato would have done better with more corn meal or a sturdier tomato like a green tomato to hold up under it. Mine was a bit mushy and not thick enough. 3) poached egg was overdone. Maybe I had to ask for it to be runny? But if the menu says poached egg so I expect runny. 4) the side Caesar salad listed with all entrees as an extra $2 they were out of Caesar dressing at opening. I didn't mind ranch but it came dressed so make sure to ask for it on the side if you don't want all the dressing. The service was slow but we were a party of 9 and ordered for three that weren't there yet. We were put behind a few smaller tables, and I only mention that because we were sat second and ended up having 3 tables ahead of us. The waitress who came late showed up 30+ minutes after they opened which didn't help. Our waitress was good and patient, plus still sweet after having to do everything without help. She was straight forward with us and those walking in about the wait which was helpful. The kids didn't seem to mind as we had activities for them. I can see how this might compound wait times later into the day. Street parking was plentiful at 8 and by mid day it was packed. If you eat here make sure to a lot some time to eat.

I didn't know how hungry I was until I walked inside. Such a cute place and well loved by locals and visitors. I had the Vinny. It was so yummy I ate every last bite.

    Corned Beef Hash!

I had the Corned Beef Hash at Cottonwood in Sisters and let me just say--it was absolutely fing delicious*. The 14-hour braised corned beef was insanely tender and flavorful, the house potatoes had the perfect crisp, and the poached eggs were cooked just right. The balsamic drizzle tied it all together beautifully without overpowering anything. It's a small, cozy spot with a bit of a wait--but totally worth it. The vibe is relaxed, the staff is friendly, and the food speaks for itself. If you're anywhere near Sisters, do not miss this place. One of the best brunch plates I've had in a long time.

Five stars for the food but one star for the service and dining experience. I am not going to leave a one star review because none of the issues were the fault of the staff that were present the day we ate there. The fault lays entirely on the owners and management for not scheduling appropriately. Upon arrival, it took 10 minutes before anyone even came to the front stand to take our names. There was already 2 other people waiting who had also been waiting for 5-10 min. Upon putting our name in, we were told that the weight would be 20 minutes. As I looked around the restaurant there were at least six tables open as well as two tables outside in which people were clearly finished eating and waiting for their checks. That should've been a warning that this was not gonna be a good service experience. Fast forward 40 minutes and we finally got called in after watching the people at the tables outside appear to have been abandoned. After we sat the poor waitress was clearly overwhelmed. Turns out they had no bus staff or host/hostess schedule that day. That left three people to bus, seat, wait on, and deliver food for all of the inside and outside tables. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and the food was very very good. It is a shame that the owners and management left them in such a terrible situation.

The place is cute, service is good, clean. The food is just okay, small servings and expensive! The tiny side of avocado is $4, the two slices of tomatoes were $5.50, which we thought was a bit much! The potatoes were not cooked through, I'm sure they would have made it right, but I didn't speak up. We ordered 2 bloody Mary's and 1 cup of coffee. We don't mind spending money on good food, but we won't be going back. $93 for breakfast w/ tip is too much for two people.

5 stars for the Cornmeal Tomatoes!! We ordered Huevos Rancheros- not J's favorite version 2 eggs with the tomatoes, I substitute the meat for an extra egg. Eggs were cooked perfectly I would stop in again on my way to Koosah.

Cute little cafe with great breakfast menu. Even though my order was just the basic breakfast, it was something to note of! The homemade toast was grainy and delicious. Service was so great. She promptly took our order and food came in a timely manner. This is a must stop for breakfast in Sisters.

Best breakfast in all of Oregon hands down! Marley is the best waitress ever! You feel like you're sitting in your Auntie's kitchen and she just made your favorite breakfast. Very cozy ambiance!

Update review. We keep getting a male server who is stressed out and impatient. Makes us feel…read morerushed. Acts like he's a great waiter and like we're unworthy customers. He sweats and pushes us to order and eat fast, doing that waiter thing when they pretend they are not rushing you. "Just checking if you need that plate taken away." Not fooling anyone. Brusque to my brother who is into fine wines and requested tastes of some by-the-glass wines before committing to a glass or a bottle. My wife stated she is uncomfortable around the server. We don't go to the Open Door much now. Old review. A real romantic spot. Great drinks. My wife loves it. Sitting outside is best but the bar is good too. Some nights they put tables in the art gallery out front and you sit around the paintings and jewelry, kind of fun. There used to be a waitress named Kristen or Kirsten, a lady with long hair and clogs, the best server I've ever had and I don't just mean in Central Oregon. The Open Door is the probably the best dining experience in Sisters. Living in Tumalo and working throughout Oregon, I go to Sisters often. Unfortunately Sisters isn't a great town for food. The Open Door has some very-good food, and some pretty-good food. You never know which it's going to be. The halibut, meatballs, and lasagnas are solid. Berries and cream dessert is great. The menu doesn't change much over the years. If my wife didn't love it I wouldn't go back so often. Get bored eating the same dishes over and over. When my brother and his grown kids visit they like the atmosphere, especially those small houses outside with the plants. However they have trouble finding a selection that works for their way of eating, allergies, one is vegan and one is lactose intolerant.

The ambiance is absolutely beautiful--outdoor seating with a warm, sunny breeze, relaxing music,…read moreand plenty of flowers to admire. The vibe was peaceful and inviting, making it the perfect spot to unwind. Service was attentive, though a bit on the slower side, we waited almost an hour for the main course. They do have a kitchen break between 3:30-4:30 PM, and I'd recommend making a reservation if you're planning to visit during peak hours. The food was fresh, flavorful, and creatively presented--it's clear the chef enjoys experimenting with unique flavor combinations. My husband tried the seafood lasagna, which was a tasty and satisfying treat. The scallops dish was also delicious, though slightly too salty for my taste and quite light--it came with a small amount of polenta and a vegetable purée, so I found myself a bit hungry afterward. Many people around us were ordering pasta, and it looked fantastic--definitely something I'd love to try next time. Overall, a beautiful place with great food and a memorable atmosphere. Highly recommend!

During Memorial Day weekend, the line was often out the door, yet it moved surprisingly fast. Even with the crowds, we usually had our drinks in hand within about 10 minutes. The Bourbon Caramel Latte has become a favorite, but honestly, we come here for more than the coffee. It's one of those places where you want to slow down for a bit. We'll grab a couple of drinks, find a place to sit, and spend an hour people-watching, reading, catching up on the news, or just enjoying the morning. The building itself adds to the experience. It feels like a classic mountain lodge, and there's always a steady mix of locals, tourists, hikers, cyclists, and dog owners passing through. Even when we're traveling with friends, Sisters Coffee becomes the mandatory first stop of the day. Will we be back? Of course. In fact, I think it's time I finally signed up for a coffee subscription so I can enjoy a little bit of Sisters when I'm back home.
