Kathryn Forbes-Fisher was our counselor for court-ordered coparenting counseling with my ex-wife,…read morewho I share custody of our two daughters. It was the worst counseling experience of my life and I would STRONGLY CAUTION ANY MEN who attend session with her because of how heavily she favors females. I am a 49 year old lawyer (not a family lawyer), highly educated and I've been through numerous counseling modalities in my life to include individual counseling, couples counseling and even a men's counseling group when I was in my 20s. Each time I gained knowledge and experience and believed counseling to be beneficial. Prior to becoming a lawyer, I was a JPPO (Juvenile Probation & Parole Officer) where I received hundreds of hours of training and I've worked with hundreds of juveniles and families during my 11 years in the juvenile justice system. I have much experience in life, at the kitchen table and in the court room. I'll limit my review to two quick examples of female bias but this played out in numerous ways until I made the decision to end my involvement with Ms. Forbes-Fisher. My ex thought I emailed her too much (email was the only way we communicated) and Ms. Forbes-Fisher agreed. Ms. Forbes-Fisher was adamant that coparents did not need to email more than one time per day, absent emergencies. So we agreed not to email each other more than once per day. In the time between sessions, I fulfilled my end of the agreement in good faith and did not email more than once per day but my ex did not. She emailed me regarding non-emergency matters more than once in a day. When we discussed this next session, Ms. Forbes-Fisher changed the rules to protect my ex by saying, "Oh, that wasn't a firm rule. That was just a guideline. If either of you determined you needed to email more than once per day, you could." I couldn't believe the blatant lying and favoritism. Another example was that both my ex and I were given a homework assignment that I completed and my ex did not. Nothing was made of my ex's failure to comply and the issue was just ignored. My female ex could do no wrong in the eyes of Ms. Forbes-Fisher. Ms. Forbes-Fisher sided with my ex on every disputed topic. The only choice for every issue we discussed was for me to follow all rules and agreements and submit to everything my ex wanted. In return, my ex did not have to follow the rules she made or agreements we reached. And if I tried to address my ex's noncompliance, poor behavior or lying? Ms. Forbes-Fisher would identify me as the problem because I was "causing conflict" in addressing those things. In summary, her female bias was obvious and pervasive in all her work. Ms. Forbes-Fisher's only goal is to empower the woman not to equally, neutrally and fairly resolves coparenting issues.

I have seen Dr. Andrew Morris for my ADHD for several years and he has been kind, very thorough in…read moreproviding me with proper guidance with regards to medication, and he has never cancelled an appointment with me. He is incredibly open to my insights on my own symptoms. He listens, and works with me to make my own decisions based on my concerns regarding balance of medication, proper sleep, and healthy diet and exercise routines. I had asked another professional many years ago to test me for ADHD and she refused, saying that I could not have accomplished so much in my post-secondary education if I had ADHD. She was blatantly wrong. To label anyone with a disability as incapable, is a very biased approach. I thank Dr. Morris for listening and giving me the OPPORTUNITY to more clearly FOCUS...on putting my efforts into the pursuit of MORE opportunities for success.
