Used Country Picker a year ago to move my two bedroom, living room and dining room. Did a good job, pretty easy move for 3 workers from Center Conway to North Conway. Charged me $660 plus I tipped another $100. Skip ahead to yesterday. Called Country Picker to get help moving one king size mattress from one spot to another. My son's mattress. I have no one to help me so I reached out to them, hoping because I was a return customer, they could help me out, and a local. They quoted me $415 to move one mattress 11 miles. Makes absolutely zero sense. Charged me $660 to move four rooms and then wanted to charge me $415 to move one mattress. I will Never Ever use these people again! Thanks for nothing. read more

We used Country Pickers for a local move in Norway, ME in December 2024, can't say enough good about them. From answering my phone calls to giving a timely estimate. When we finally got a closing date they accommodated our every need/want. We've used Country Picker a number of times for local and cross country moves and always been impressed with the professionalism and attitude of the people whom we worked with. This last time however was the best yet! From the front office staff who were always willing to answer stupid questions, to the 6 people who showed up on moving day, ready organized to cope with weight restricted road conditions and a brand new house, where we didn't always know where to direct them. Cheerful, competent and sometimes funny, a superb crew. Prior to moving us in, they'd moved us out about 7 months prior and stored our things and NOT ONE THING WAS BROKEN. I used the Country Picker on the advice of a friend for a three-stop move from Massachusetts to Nashua to North Conway. They were great, adding the middle stop after the original appointment was made and making my life infinitely easier for a pretty reasonable cost. The guys were very friendly and personable, and did a great job moving my stuff. They even managed to get a glass cabinet up some very tight stairs to the second floor without any issues. ADVISE EVERYONE TO SEEK ANOTHER MOVING COMPANY. DO NOT. I REPEAT DO NOT USE THEM. I Used them a few weeks ago. Moved into a new apartment the 19th of May. Firstly. Scheduled for them to be there at 10. They showed up a little after Noon. Secondly, they broke a nice tall black bookshelf I had. Completely ruined the top half of it. And messed up the bottom half of it. Third, my old roommate was moving her stuff back to New York. So they told us they were gonna take everything in one truck. Deliver my stuff to the new apartment in North Conway, and then put her stuff in storage until they could get it up to New York. So the third issue was they misplaced a couple boxes of mine and messed up the inventory. I had called a few days after realizing there was stuff missing. They said they were going to check the warehouse/ truck for my stuff. I told them what was in the boxes and gave them permission to look in them. They must of decided not to because I got a text from my old roommate about a week and a half ago saying her stuff just got there and she found my boxes. So clearly the movers didn't look hard enough. She told me she would try sending my stuff in the mail. Which I find out yesterday it was too heavy to send so she decided to throw away and donate all my stuff. So because or an error by Country Pickers, I lost about $200 worth of stuff in those boxes because they sent it to my old roommate and the roommate decided to throw stuff away and donate it. Emailed them saying something needs to be done and the main guy that runs the place basically responded to me with "don't know what else to tell you. Sucks to suck". So yeah I STRONGLY advise if anyone is moving to NOT USE these guys. I heard bad rumors about them prior but I needed to hurry and get a mover. read more

It pains me to write this review. Why? Because the people who work for this company are all the nicest people I have ever dealt with and the moving crew busts their butt. There is the owner, the moving crew and the office help. None of them knows what the other is doing. If you talk to the moving crew and tell them something the owner approved etc, they have no idea what you are talking about. Talk to the office people about something the drivers did, they have no idea. The movers themselves are great guys, but there are way more damaged items than I would have expected. Also some missing boxes. They completely broke my washing machine so that it didn't work any more. When I called the owner, he was more than willing to take care of the problem, but this stuff shouldn't happen in the first place. He picked up the washing machine and took it to a repair shop, the machine came back fixed almost two weeks later. Meanwhile I couldn't do laundry. This was a sizeable move for sure, but years ago me and a bunch of buddies moved my entire life in a huge truck w/out anything damaged, and that was just a bunch of amateurs. The moving crew was incredibly late on arrival. The owner told me around 1pm, the guys showed up at 6 or so pm. They claim to have not known the time the owner gave me and they came from another job that day that held them up. When bringing this up with the owner he said he never told me 1pm. Later that day I pulled up his email showing his promise of 1pm and forwarded it to him, I never heard back from him regarding this, nor an apology. There were other problems too with communication by the drivers with the owner and with the office help. They finally sent someone out to view the damaged items and take stock of missing items etc....that was two weeks ago from this writing and I have still not heard anything back. Are they paying for the items? What is next? I have no idea, and after calling their office today, they have no idea either. Edit: the owner calls me weeks after all this stuff is going on, tells me his guys will stop by the next day or two for sure to fix a bed for me that isn't right. They never called. It is getting worse with this guy each time. He also brought a furniture repair person to my home to look at all the damage. He gives the repair guy my number last week, still no call. And I am doubting that the owner has followed up in any way. Awful. read more

I used this company years ago for a move after a fire. We needed a place for storage while our house was restored. Many of our valuable things like an original Dartmouth NH Ski Poster went missing. They also told me they had a large HEATED warehouse. It was nothing of the sort! Our antiques, collectibles, tools and household were crammed into a metal building on top of and mixed with many other things from other places than ours. There was no room to inspect it, there was no room between boxes, there was no seperation between estates. Very sad and disappointed with this company and would not recommend it. read more

Working hard to gain our trust, and also going the extra mile with customer service. We had a move cross country so we had our concerns with all going well. Can not say enough about the result of a very difficult move for my wife and me. After several moves in the past where furniture and goods were ruined and times for delivery and pick up were ignored, we were worried about our impending interstate move. Every one at Country Picker, from the office staff to the crew were perfect. Tina and the moving crew came the day before to help us pack and the three day move went off as smooth as could be hoped. When the Furniture from our house was delivered, Jerry and Dave spent the time helping us decide what to move into the apartment and what to put in our storage compartment. Some items went back and forth to the truck due to our indecision. They took it all in stride on three of the hottest days in May and made sure that we were pleased. I can't say enough in praising Country Picker. Needing to move my Mom's belongings from Southern Maine to Englewood, Florida, I did my due diligence and obtained quotes from 6 different moving companies located in Maine and New Hampshire, one of them being Country Picker out of Conway New Hampshire. All of the moving company representatives made their appearances at the storage unit where my Mom's items were stored including Phil and Tina from Country Picker. I thought it was pretty cool that the company owner and office manager personally met with me to put together an estimate for this move and as a plus, they were both down to earth and genuinely nice people, unlike all of the other moving company representatives, who all seemed to be in a hurry and made me feel like I was wasting their time with a less than full truck load of goods to move. Phil and Tina treated me like, my load of goods was the most important job they would have all year. After all of the move estimates had been received, the Country Picker estimate beat out all of the rest by many hundreds dollars. With reservations, I went with them hoping that there wasn't a reason they were so much cheaper, and I set up a date and time for loading the truck. At the exact day and time of the appointment, Dave and Jerry showed up at the storage unit to load the goods. Dave and Jerry were unbelievable in the care they gave to the wrapping and documentation of each item they loaded into the truck. They seemed to really enjoy their jobs and were a pleasure to talk to as they went about carefully loading my Mom's items up for their long trip to Florida. Three days later, the Country Picker truck arrived in Englewood and quickly unloaded my Mom's goods exactly as she requested, with not one scratch, ding or dent to be found. Fast forward one month, I received a call from Phil the owner of Country Picker stating he and one of his drivers were concerned for Mom's well-being as his driver who had made the delivery in Englewood had received a phone call from my Mom who has early stages of dementia stating that she was afraid there were problems up in Maine with her family as she couldn't reach anyone by phone and she didn't know if he had any contact with her family in Maine, (this is actually rather funny considering this truck driver is a total stranger other than the one time he made the delivery to her house). Now that right there speaks volumes about the integrity and personal commitment of this little moving company from Conway, New Hampshire, you won't find this level of customer commitment with Allied, Mayflower and United Van Lines. Phil, you and your crew are the best and I will not hesitate to recommend Country Picker to anyone looking for an affordable and reputable moving company! read more
