WaterColor Inn - Sunset from 3rd floor balcony

This boutique hotel is straight up wonderful! It's intimate, with its own pool and restaurants…read more Even though it is not an all-inclusive, it sure gets close! There is a sweets suite that has granola bars, popcorn, soda, oranges and apples, goldfish, an ice and water machine, espresso machine (that also makes hot cocoa), and ice cream bars! No need to pack extra snacks for your little ones on this trip! The rooms are large and the balconies have a gorgeous view of the bluest turquoise waters- it reminded me of being in the islands! The turndown service brings you fresh homemade cookies every night (so don't use your DND!). The staff onsite are super accommodating, the drinks at the bar are delicious, and the food is good as well. The pool drinks are more expensive if you go to the beach club next door. The pool area has a huge sunscreen dispenser (never seen one of these), ice water, fire pits (free to use). There is a tiny gym off the lobby (open 24/7). It has one treadmill, one elliptical, free weights, one bench, on pulley system and a Lululemon mirror thing. No one seemed to use it, so that was nice. The beach is powdered sugar soft a the ocean is clear and calm. It was an OASIS! The only surprise is that there isn't any drink service. Luckily the pool bar wasn't too far away. There is a free trolley you can take to other pools like the Watercolor Club (for kids), and other locations. There are some eateries within walking distance (however not a ton). The whole town is walkable and bike friendly. If you're a runner, there's a paved walkway that goes alongside the main road for miles and miles. I stuck to the trails behind the houses and loved it! It was secluded and woodsy, and yet I still saw houses so it didn't feel unsafe. This was probably one of the best vacations I've been on- it felt foreign but was stateside. Everyone enjoyed it- myself, my husband, our toddler, and my older in-laws. It's worth every penny! And bonus: the AC works amazingly! You can have a cold room and the ceiling fan makes it even better! The housekeeping was also phenomenal! Everyone was friendly and did such a great job! They gave us more shampoo, etc without us even having to ask. My only cons- I wish the free bike rental had helmets. I don't trust drivers when I have a little one to take care of, and the pool pump was loud so we couldn't really hear the ocean from the balcony, but not a deal killer.

Loved all the amenities they offer, including use of bikes, nightly fresh baked cookies, snack room, plush robes. Excellent turn down service. Loved the proximity to the beach club. Great, friendly service. Spacious room. Very clean and beautifully decorated. We would stay here again!

We just checked out of the Lodge at 30A after spending a week there with our family. Overall, we…read moreenjoyed our time in the area, but there were several issues with our stay that made the experience frustrating. When we arrived around 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, the older blonde woman at the front desk was kind, but we were not given important information that would have been helpful for our stay. For example, we were not told that there are laundry machines on site, that pool towels must be checked out at the front desk, that there is no Wi-Fi password needed, or where to find ice. These are simple details that would have made settling in much easier. Our biggest concern was housekeeping. We were surprised to learn that rooms are only cleaned every other day. For families spending their days at the beach and pool, this creates challenges with sand, wet towels, and overflowing trash--especially since the rooms are small and include a kitchenette. Daily trash removal and fresh towels would make a big difference. On the days housekeeping did come, we were only left with four large towels, which was not enough to last for two days for our family. This meant we had to repeatedly call the front desk for additional towels, toilet paper, and other basic items. Each time, we were reminded that there was only one person working the front desk and were often asked if someone from our room could come pick up the items. Unfortunately, that was not always possible, and as guests, we did not feel that should have been our responsibility. At times, we found ourselves searching the hallway for housekeeping carts just to grab extra towels. That should not be necessary during a hotel stay. While the location is great, the lack of communication and customer service made this stay disappointing. Unfortunately, because of this experience, we do not plan to return.

Another thing to note is that free water bottles at check in are advertised on their amenities page and we were not given any. Lastly, the fire pits outside are not lit. The Lodge 30A is a new hotel in a perfect location between Seaside, Alys Beach, and Rosemary Beach. The hotel has a big lobby with many places to sit, a 24-hour gym, an outdoor pool, a market, etc. The check-in process was very easy, and I was even able to check in a few hours early. The room is a decent size with a fridge, toaster, microwave, plates, and utensils. They also have free parking and they are within walking distance of many coffee shops, restaurants, and shops. The hotel is very updated and modern.

During a recent visit to 30A for a work function for my wife where we were staying at the Camp…read moreCreek Inn, we joined friends over several days to check out several WaterSound Club locations (which also include where we were staying). We were provided access to these locations and even enjoyed some meals and walking around WaterSound Club areas. As a guest of the Camp Creek Inn, we were provided exclusive access to the private WaterSound Beach Club amenities with complimentary shuttles (daily 8 AM to 9 PM). The beach is private and not open to the general public though we had access because of the WaterSound Club. The Beach Club offers two 7,000 square foot pools, a spacious pool deck, and over a mile of private beach with complimentary chair and umbrella setups along with paddle board and kayak rentals. There are also several dining venues there, too. To be a part of the WaterSound Club as a member, there is a hefty initiation fee with monthly dues though staying at a hotel like the Camp Creek Inn allows us access as if we are a member without being an actual member. Some of the restaurants that we went to include the Bark 'N Brine at the Camp Creek Inn and the Beach Break Grill at the Beach Club. Both of these had similar but different food offerings and mostly similar drink menus. They also both offered happy hour with half price select appetizers and drink specials. We also enjoyed walking along the beach though it was a cloudy and somewhat rainy day when no one was on the beach but we still saw some WaterSound staff working. We also enjoyed the pool at the Camp Creek Inn. I'm sure there were a lot of other aspects of the WaterSound Club we could have explored, and should we visit the area again, we'll gladly do so. In the meanwhile, learn more about the WaterSound Club at https://watersoundclub.com.

This is a 4 1/2 star review…read more After some research for lodging on the island, my friend found this little charmer. We went during the off season and compared to the cost of hotels these days we found this place to be inexpensive and an absolute delight. We had a courtyard room complete with yard swing, fish cleaning area, picnic tables, bike rack, and sitting area. Wrapped with a white picket fence, each room had its own screened patio. Recently having been renovated in a 50's/60's retro style, the room was IMMACULATE when we walked in. From the photos I saw online, I had my doubts about this place but upon my walk in, all my fears were put to rest. Clean, clean, clean!!! Comfy beds, full size refrigerator, satellite TV, wifi, hot shower, home-y views from the windows... an absolute gem! The only issue we had was that Ocracoke Island doesn't have AT&T cell service and since my friend couldn't figure out the room phone she ended up using the pay phone outside (Pay phone? Those still exist?!?!?!). This is not reflection of the hotel. We later learned that Ocracoke does receive other cell services just not the one we had. I would send any of my friends to this place as we really enjoyed our stay here. Plus, the person in the office was incredibly nice and helpful. I couldn't get myself to give 5 stars ONLY because I wasn't a fan of the decor. At first sight, it was a turnoff. I have a different personal style when it comes to hotel stays and this wasn't it. Had my friend not convinced me, I probably wouldn't have brought my business here. That would have been my loss! Glad we stayed.
