Our hostess, Carol, was happy to provide some real milk for our morning tea. We were offered a Sherry or Whisky in the lounge to help us relax after our long day's walk and it felt like reentering civilization, or being welcomed into the home of a friend. This beautiful Georgian home has been remodeled to house guests but the character has been preserved with great class and dignity. It is tastefully and comfortably furnished. Our room was spacious and the bathroom also roomy with very modern in appointments, tub and shower combination. This was probably the most comfortable bed of our two week trip. There was a tiny kitchenette counter so for a longer stay we could have self catered some lunch or light suppers. Breakfast was magnificent and Chris gave us local gourmet feasting with superb sausages and the best black pudding I ever ate. There was Glayva to put into our oatmeal porridge which was wonderful! Their packed lunches were the best we received while on St. Cuthbert's Way. I could happily have stayed a week in the comfortable surroundings. It was off the main road enough to be very quiet. This is a nicely decorated modern cottage which is well equipped, and has a real log burner with plenty supply of wood outside. Rooms are comfortable, beds nice & soft, central heating automatically comes on at night, even if yo have the log burner on. Paved area out the back with seating and table. There are no shops in the area so stock up in the nearby village shop on supply's. They are extremely knowledgable, helpful, cheery, accommodating and polite. A small walk takes you to the beach, or into the town centre. The town centre is a charming mish-mash of shops with a great bi-weekly market. Berwick itself is picturesque and steeped in history. HIGHLY recommended.

The entertainment in the evening is what I would call so cheesey you have to love it! Always a bit of good fun, always bands and singers on a bit later in the evening. The surrounding area is great too, there is a golf course on the lead upto the park and on a saturday there is a market in the town centre which is a 5 min drive at most from the park. There are plenty of nice towns and villages around berwick for you to visit, and as always with small towns the fish and chips are amazing!

For single occupancy I think you pay from £210 upwards. it's outrageous that single people are always charged more. As we have the money.... When dining you are being served with gallant mannerism ensuring that your needs are being met satisfactory. The food is very tasty and delicious, but take into account that if you eat in the a la cart restaurant you might be hit by a higher than £50 bill charge per person. So be prepared! The menu changes, such expect to get something different another time around. If you want to spoil your other half - then do! There is no doubt that because of its prestigious and expensive existence this place might only be affordable for special occasions or if you are not hit by recession.
