    Our goodies while we painted

My daughter & I decided to try it out during Spring Break and were passing through Louisville - we absolutely LOVED IT & we'll definitely be returning if we're ever back in the area. Great service & Value!

This place is so much fun!! We just finished a ladies night! I bought a Groupon for a group of 4, but had to pay extra for two additional people. Groupon really makes it a great deal! We've dropped in before as well with my little guy and so many options to choose from. I prefer booking a class, this way you can see what the option will be for your date. They have extended hours, and it's a great night out. You can bring your own food and drinks in here! Yes even adult beverages! :) They also have snacks and drinks you can buy as well. They usually have full classes and plenty of seats. Arrive early to get the spot you want, and to ensure your group can sit together. We all really enjoyed our instructor Dalton, and we finished in about 2.5 hours. Plan to be there the entire time. We are now planning to make this a new tradition on the night before Thanksgiving! Thanks so much for a fun night! The instructors are super helpful and you do not need to be an artist to have fun!

So my girlfriend and I went t Whet Your Palette last month, and had a blast! Very relaxing atmosphere with friendly , attentive service . Since we were kinda late getting there- close to closing- we were able to come back and finish at no additional cost.

What we signed up for (on the website)

Only go if you get a discount of like half off because it is not worth the full price. The bottle of wine and vibes were awesome. I went with my friend and we had fun. However, the actually painting was embarrassing. The "teacher" did not something even remotely close to what was on the website. I would go again but only if I paid the $15 ($30 for both my friend and I) I paid this time.

This was a fun experience whether you're a novice or an expert. Every Saturday there are evening classes with a selected painting of the day. This place is located off of evergreen green road in a residential area. There is parking on site. I stumbled upon a groupon for this class which made it an even better deal. However, this is one of the few art studios that does allow drop-ins. The selected painting of the evening was Churchill downs. I was slightly nervous knowing my artistic ability is terrible. Our instructor, walked us through every step of the way and made it fun and simple to go through the steps. This class is a BYOB or wine, whichever you prefer. There is also snacks and soft drinks available for purchase. Overall, I had a great time and may someday return to paint another portrait with some girlfriends.

    Starry Night night.

It's a 3 for me, but the rest in my party of three says it's a 5 for them, so I averaged it to a 4. The three of us came here for a small birthday celebration. I bought a Groupon for two for their Evening Calendar Class and then purchased a separate one for me for $20 (11x14 canvas). The booking process was simple and painless. We were pleasantly surprised at the pretty setting of this big house in the heart of Anchorage. I had no idea Anchorage was such an exclusive getaway from busy Shelbyville Road! After you turn onto Evergreen, it is like a different world, filled with stately homes hidden behind big trees. The setting of this painting class business is a very nice departure from the average strip mall versions. It also seems to be one of the only family/kids friendly painting business in the area. They offer kids classes, parties and camps. They also cater to the homeschoolers. The painting part is about the same as the other painting place I have experienced. A very patient instructor provides and demonstrates fool proof instructions. While we do paint the same subject, but they encourage individual results. The process pretty much guarantees everyone will complete something they can be proud of. However, the process is not designed to challenge one's artistic skills. The paints are about as economical as they come. There will not be tubes of Cadmium Yellow or Alizarin Crimson. The brushes are so bad, I will definitely bring my own for the next visit. So, be patient, this is a class for enjoyment and entertainment. One note...see how you feel about this; on their webpage, there is this fine print at the bottom that states: "As a Christian business, it is our policy to not aid in the painting of other religious symbols. God Bless."

    Family fun!

Great step-by-step painting with a knowledgeable instructor! Beginners are welcome! Sign up for various themes and classes online. Take home painting at the end of class!

I've been to other painting classes and Board & Brush is the Cream of the Crop hands down. The process is super easy. Go online and choose your project, you can even customize what you want it to say. Once you arrive and check in they already have your seating set up, (TIP: if you are going with a friend make sure you put that friend's name down...they have a place for that when you're booking.). This place is staffed appropriately and they are like a well oiled machine. We got to our table they had the boards there and the stencils and confirm that it's to your liking. I didn't realize that we actually put the boards together, stain them along with the painting; but, don't freak out, they have everything you need and it's super fun to do that part. My friend chose a beautiful cardinal scene to put outside her front door for Christmas and I chose the gingerbread man. I did change what they had written on the website to be "Home Sweet Home". Y'all it is so fun and fulfilling to complete a project start to finish. I'm gushing so I'm gonna finish with this...don't put this off, just go. It's so much fun to do by yourself or with friends. Oh and if you want some wine they have it!! Whoo hoo!!! Trust me just go. You will enjoy it!

Gaining new skills in a fun environment? That's a big "hell yes!" in my book…read more I attended one of Level Up Louisville's first classes a year or two ago -- a mixology class where I actually got to make cocktails in Copper & Kings rooftop bar space. And finally my husband and I got to take in new class last week -- "Monetizing Your Home with AirBnB." We had been thinking about maybe one day renting out one of the units in our duplex through AirBnB. This seemed like a great opportunity to dip our toes in a bit. That's really one thing I very much appreciate about Level Up Louisville -- the range of class topics. So for $35 each, we got spots in the class, which met in the home of a local AirBnB superhost. The dozen or so of us started with a glass of wine and chatting in our host's gorgeous Old Louisville kitchen. And then we went up to her AirBnB unit, which was an expertly decorated top-floor studio. Up there, we talked about a range of topics, such as selecting guests, fixing up your unit, deciding what aspects of a unit to invest in, what to do about problem guests, what permits you need, etc. By the time we left, my husband had an entire page of notes, and we had so much more to think about than we had originally expected. When we left, my husband even remarked how impressed he was and how the class was worth every penny of the $70 we spent. It's safe to say that this class won't be my last. One other quick thing to note: If you take a class, don't be "that guy," who comes in as a student but ends up taking over the class, mansplaining all over the teacher. We get it -- you know things. But if you're over-talking the host, speaking up more to try and answer other students' questions rather than ask your own, you are not helping. We didn't pay to hear you speak; we paid to hear her.
