    Croquettes
    Wl G.

We tried a couple items on the menu. I will say the ahi tuna with peanut sauce was our favorite. I won't order the croquettes again... nothing special. The buffalo chicken pizza was good, but idk if I would get it again- maybe I'd try something else Will go back since it was our first time and it's new, but as of right now it won't be in normal rotation.

While visiting Charlotte I walked across the street from my hotel to visit this restaurant on recommendation from the front desk. When they first told me the name I was caught off guard, but after finding The Restaurant, I now understand what the name means in Irish. They have an outdoor seating area but even though they have shade, it was way to hot for me. I sat at a booth near the bar. It was the perfect area for me as I got to watch the sports news on the various TV's above the bar. The place seems ups ale but it is very laid back and relaxing. The brunch menu was short and sweet, which makes it easier to decide. I went with the Dubliner smash, a burger with two smashed patties, pickles, and a sweet whiskey glaze that was savory, I just wished it would have had more of hit. I did not get that taste in every bite and wished I had. It was on a Brioche bread which is a bit to thick for my taste. The side of tator tots was plentiful and delicious. Soft on inside perfect crunch on outside. My server was on top of my drinks and making sure everything was going well. She definitely did her part. Will be back for dinner to try something else and catch a game while I'm at it. You should do the same, you won't be disappointed!

    Great big outdoor patio.

This place is great to watch a game or just come for a really good cocktail or to come for a nice glass of wine/beer and dinner! Really good. Came on a Saturday and a Monday. It's one of the only places open late with food even until 1am. I had the Blue Cheese Burger on Saturday and it was delicious. I also had a couple of their signature cocktails. Really good. Camille was our waitress and super on it and cool. On Monday I had the tuna app and the bartender Rui made me some amazing Mezcal Palomas. Rui ran the entire bar with us coming in 12 deep he handled all of our food orders either perfection and drinks were great! Definitely recommend!

Got to visit here opening day with my work team and it was great! Great service and the food was delicious, no complaints. We sat out on the patio and it was so nice. Definitely coming back here!

HUGE thank you to Legion…read more Our company, Opkalla, held its big team Midyear dinner at Legion last night (which I'm responsible for planning), and I was absolutely blown away by the entire experience planning with Gabby, through the event itself for about 50 people. Before I even get into the event itself though, none of it would've been possible without Gabby being such an absolute joy to work with throughout all of the planning leading up to it. During the planning phase she made my life about 100 times easier instead of harder, which is saying something because that's definitely not always the case with venues and I've experienced the other side of that coin elsewhere! From the second we arrived, we were treated with genuine attention and enthusiasm (not to mention, HUSTLE!) I was running around so much all day that I can't believe I'm blanking on a couple of the girls' names now...I remember Kayla's name specifically for some reason...but EVERY single server, bartender, etc working our event was absolutely AMAZING. (As an aside, I worked in hospitality for years, so I know firsthand how much goes into pulling off a private event like ours. Legion's team last night made the entire evening seem effortless.) Drinks were flowing and refilled so quickly, everyone was constantly checking in with me to see if we needed anything, the food was fantastic, and while I didn't catch his name in the middle of all the celebrating, the steak carver you assigned to our event was such a great guy too and SO wonderful with our team. I genuinely can't find the right -- or enough -- words to explain how impressed I was with the entire experience, from the planning process all the way through the end of the night. This was probably the first large team event I've been responsible for, whether at Opkalla or any previous company, where I actually got to relax at times during the event and almost felt like a guest instead of just the planner!! You have no idea how refreshing that was. (Not that I would've minded running around putting out fires if I had to; that occasionally just comes with the territory and was definitely the case earlier that day prior to Legion!) Legion handled everything so seamlessly that I barely had to do any "work" during the event beyond enjoying the evening and checking in with our team. It was obvious everyone had everything they needed, and even more obvious that everyone was having an absolute blast. Thank you again for making this such an incredible experience. It was truly one of the smoothest, most enjoyable events I've ever been a part of, and that's a huge credit to Legion's events team and serving/bartending staff. I can't wait to work with them again for future events, and to recommend them to others I know who are often in need of event venues! THANK YOU AGAIN, GABBY AND LEGION!

Lots of families with kids dining around us, seemed like a very kid friendly place. We started with the pretzel rolls, which came warm in a small cast iron skillet with sides of beer cheese, pimento cheese, and mustard. They were good but I thought seemed a little overpriced at $8 for only 4 small rolls. The Juicy Jay chicken salad was phenomenal. The server said it was his favorite thing on the menu and I can definitely see why! Can't speak to the drinks as we were having a sober evening but they had beer, wine, and cocktails on the menu.

While the website does outline the parking situation, it still proved to be a real inconvenience on the day of the event. However, the bigger issues were with the management and cleanliness. The owner kept my $250 non-refundable deposit for some spots on the floor, which I had pointed out to him upon my arrival. It was clear the venue hadn't been properly cleaned before our event--I found utensils, bread, and hair from a previous event. I cleaned the kitchen sink because there was dirt in it, even though we really didn't use that area. But just to point out the venue was not as clean as the owner was trying to make it seem, it was. When I brought up these concerns, the owner tried to justify his actions by invoking his status as a Black-owned small business, even though he was charging a Black family an excessive amount for cleaning that wasn't our responsibility. Additionally, there were no trash cans, which was a huge inconvenience. I strongly advise anyone considering this venue to conduct a very thorough walkthrough and document everything with your own photos. It's a shame that a decent venue is managed with such a lack of professionalism and care.

The McGill Rose Garden absolutely delivered on that. This is truly a beautiful venue--lush flowers everywhere, winding walk paths, and plenty of places to sit quietly and just take it all in. It's the kind of space where you can slow down, clear your head, and quite literally stop and smell the roses. I found it to be a wonderful spot for reflection, a casual stroll, or simply enjoying nature without needing to leave the city. One of the things I especially appreciated is that you can enhance the experience with a visit to the wine bar onsite, Rosie's Wine Garden, where you can grab a coffee, cocktail, or glass of wine and then wander the grounds at your own pace. It adds a relaxed, almost European feel to the whole experience. A quick heads-up: parking can be a bit tricky, as the entrance is off a busy street, so just take your time and be patient when pulling in. Once you're there, though, it's well worth the effort. Bottom line: If you're looking for a small but charming botanical-style garden in Charlotte--a quiet place to reset, reflect, and enjoy the outdoors--this is a lovely little gem. For me, it checked all the boxes and has become a welcome respite in the middle of a busy day.

I had one of the worst travel experiences of my life with the Canopy by Hilton Charlotte Southpark,…read moreand what made it truly unacceptable was the behavior of the staff. I had a confirmed reservation, completed check in earlier in the day through the Hilton Honors app (I am a Hilton gold member), and even selected my room in advance. By the time I arrived at 1130 pm, exhausted and emotionally drained, I had every reason to believe my room was secured. Instead, I was told the hotel was oversold and had no rooms available. What happened next was beyond disappointing. The front desk attendant was incredibly cold, dismissive, and outright rude. He claimed a manager had called me to notify me of the issue, which was simply not true. When I asked what I was supposed to do, I was told, in a tone that made it clear he did not care, that it was not his problem. There was no attempt to help, no effort to find alternative accommodations, and no sense of urgency despite the late hour and the fact that the city was fully booked. Instead he watched as my sister and I sobbed and panicked in the lobby for an hour without so much as a sorry. I was left stranded in the middle of the night with nowhere to go. Every hotel in the area was sold out. We ended up sleeping in my car. To make matters worse, I was in town because my father had just passed away. This was not a routine trip. In a moment where even basic human empathy would have gone a long way, I was met with indifference, coldness, and irritation. Mistakes happen. But how a hotel handles it is what matters, and in this case, it was handled with a complete lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic human decency. If you are considering staying here, understand that even with a confirmed reservation, advance check in, and a room selected, you may still not have a room when you arrive--and if something goes wrong, you should not expect help from the staff or the manager. Completely unacceptable experience with despicable staff, especially for the Hilton brand.
