The service time as of 2025.

Short Version: Check this place out! You'll love it. Long version: We've been attending The Crossing since 2016, and we absolutely love it. My wife found this church and others through Yelp after we moved to the area, but we knew this place was the one. It's a pretty low-key environment, not the typical "too much church" or overly large church. Our marriage has grown stronger, and both my wife and I have spiritually flourished because of this place. The community at The Crossing is uplifting and welcoming. From the moment you step onto the campus, you're greeted by friendly people who make you feel right at home. This church offers a variety of support and Bible study groups, so you're sure to find one that resonates with you. We also appreciate how they serve local communities and people in need across the globe. The worship songs are phenomenal and truly moving. The worship team is incredibly talented, and their music helps you forget about the worries or stresses in your life. Childcare is available and free, and there's also student ministry available. They take excellent care of our daughter, so we never have to worry about her. If you're looking for a place to call home, look no further--give them a chance. And if you see me around the campus, don't hesitate to come say hi!

This is a wonderful church. My partner and I visited The Crossing Church for the first time this past Sunday. The campus is beautiful. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available for the services. Since many were sitting outside, they brought their fur-babies too! I loved seeing the doggies. So cute! It is so nice that you can bring the whole family to church. Everyone is so friendly and kind. There is lots of diversity at this church. Love that! And they offer services in Spanish as well. After the service, they had tacos and a Mariachi band. It was refreshing to see all people from different walks of life, and that all cultures are welcome, regardless of age, sex, culture, and socioeconomic status. Since it was our first time, they welcomed us with a gift bag with goodies in it. The bag had a 90-day introduction of "our daily bread," a bookmark with a 90-day reading plan, a notebook for taking notes during service and a welcome brochure with all the groups and activities available with The Crossing Church. I really enjoyed Pastor Andrew, and felt he was relatable and funny, but also educational. He offered a lot of good questions (relating to the word) for participants to think about. I am a big fan of people processing information on their own accord and discovering what it means to them personally and making decisions based on that. I don't care for pastors that tell you things like "you should" or you "have to" do xyz to show your love for God, or buy this book and do what it says, etc. I didn't get any pushy vibes from Pastor Andrew. Instead, he offered great talking points, and things for the attendees to think about. He offered ideas and questions to deepen the service. It was non-judgmental, respectful, and still supported people's autonomy. I am about this approach!!! :) I also like the creative way this church celebrates people who have been newly baptized. Instead of sitting through each person getting baptized (dunked in water), each person walked over to the wall and screwed on a light bulb. I love the symbolism behind this and the unique take on celebrating the first step for those individuals.

Dog friendly church and welcoming. They even have free food sometimes. And movie. We love going here.

Love this church! I've been coming here for a few years just sitting in the back quietly during service and saying hi to the workers but since I had my son I've been a little more talkative to the volunteers. They're super sweet and this is the only daycare my son will stay in without me getting a call. I feel safe with him in the daycare while I enjoy the service.

We found this church through Yelp and we are so happy that we did. Pastor Andrew (lead pastor) is wonderful. Every time he speaks it's like it straight to our hearts We also love pastor Michelle (executive pastor) Come to this church you won't regret it

There is more to life, an amazing place to belong. Come let's do life together. People are so friendly, welcoming and caring; they don't need to know first to show you love. Thanks friends!

Love this church. Wonderful music / worship. Love the messages, very practical along with Bible centric messages. It's a wonderful environment where all are welcome, and not "churchy". I love how they support their community with giving to people in need too. I've heard about it a long time but finally came. Glad I did!

THE CROSSING CHURCH IS A CHURCH FOR ALL PEOPLE. TO EXPLORE FAITH and EXPERIENCE THE LIFE-CHANGING WAYS OF JESUS. The Crossing creates environments and experiences where you can encounter God in the midst of your life. I've attended The Crossing for 25+ years and it just keeps getting better and better. I bring my furry friend (and husband) and sit outside on beautiful Sunday mornings. I attend small groups on Wednesday evenings to walk through life and explore faith with others. I am so grateful to have a church that I love and feel loved by the staff and community, who bring such value to my life, and the lives of so many others locally and around the world.

Pastor Andrew sharing a great message!

The Crossing Church is an amazing place. I can't express how grateful I am for this church. My husband and I found it years ago, noticed it while driving down the freeway. We were newlyweds and looking for a church at the time after moving to Orange County. We have now been coming for about 8 years and we still love it! After we had our first kid, it was tough to figure out how to go to church but the auditorium actually has a "mothers room" in the back for new moms where it is sound proof with rocking chairs and a diaper changing station so you can be with your newborn and still enjoy the service. How awesome is that? During the pandemic, we also did not know how to still get to church. The Crossing did a wonderful job of broadcasting their sermons and we were able to make it through the pandemic. Now that my kids are 4 and 6, they attend the kids services which are staffed by the best volunteers. TC kids has taught my kids sooooo much and they look forward to going every week. There are always fun activities, snacks, and the volunteers just love on the kids. It's really amazing. My 6 year old now is memorizing Bible verses because he wants to! We have also grown to know many of the families who attend and love the community here. The Crossing is a church for all. The environment is welcoming and the people are kind. The pastors here are down to earth, and the messages are grounded in the Word but extremely relatable and easy to understand. No matter where you are in your faith journey, the crossing meets you there. In addition, the community outreach is amazing. They have a Lifelines ministry and multiple outreach projects. I can't say enough good things about this church!!!

There is a 30's female that was a volunteer and attended this church for longer than I did, that has a physical disability so she can't drive to church, other than that she's perfectly able, normal, has a full time job, etc. However, once "Hospitality Pastor" Suzan started working there, she started treating this young woman like she had a mental disability or like a 10-year old child. I stood there many times when Suzan would literally come up to her and scold her for being at church past a certain time, as if she were mentally deficient and a child. Suzan also got multiple pastors/leaders to start treating her this same way: Pastors Kit, Ben, Paul, Josh, etc. among others. I can say it was very demeaning and it made me upset just witnessing it. I stood up for her many times, but finally they asked the woman to stop coming to the church, because she was disobedient for standing up for herself and not leaving when they demanded she leave. I also had a discussion later where Pastor Kit literally rolled his eyes and said "come on" when I said "this Woman is in her 30's" as if I should know that he sees her as a 10 year old. RH should consider itself lucky they weren't sued for ADA/discriminatory practices over this matter. There was another man in a wheelchair who had been attending for over a year that stopped coming after Suzan started working there, although I can't say it had anything to do with her, but the timing is a strange coincidence. 2) About 6 months ago, a new "Hospitality Pastor" named Suzan was hired at the church. I put the name in quotes because she is the queen of inhospitality. She is the leader over all the volunteers that greet people at the door and do other tasks. Since she started at least 70% of the volunteers have stopped volunteering or even stopped attending the church altogether (many were longtime members/volunteers of the church). I've heard from dozens of volunteers how overbearing and mean-spirited she is. She always is walking around with a smile on her face while simultaneously saying mean and disparaging remarks about how the volunteers are "doing their jobs wrong". I personally heard many of her comments while standing near the food table or talking to volunteers. 3) The staff and payrolls are extremely bloated. This is a medium sized church of about 2500 I would guess yet they have over 25 people on staff about 15 pastors with a payroll of $2.5 million or $100K a person, but that's the average. Financials are available on their website. I would guess their pastors are making $!50-$200K easily. Pastors work 20 hours a week: 10-3 M-Th (probably an hour lunch) + attend a Sunday service. It's a pretty good gig but doesn't convey the heart of being good stewards over God's resources. While it isn't a sin to collect a big salary, it makes me question the motives behind certain people being on staff at the church....is this a calling from God on their lives or a calling from their personal wallets? Would the still be working here for a more reasonable salary? I've been to similar sized churches on Orange County that had like 4 pastors and an office manager. With this massive staff + salaries you think they would at least be able to have one person available to answer phones (see 4). 4) Church leadership cares about the almighty dollar Much more than its people. Easy to prove this. Try calling the church and you'll get an automated menu with no way to reach a real human being at the church. Just for fun I tried all nine menu options. Guess which option was the only one that rang an actual line? Yup you guessed it "Giving". Everything else goes to a generic voice box that you'll be lucky to get a call back on. I did finally get a callback after leaving two messages, 4 days later, when I finally needed to call the church for the first time in years. You could literally be on the verge of ending your life and calling RH to talk to a "caring pastor" and you'll have to leave a voicemail and hope they call back before you end things. If you have a donation, don't worry someone will be there to offer full assistance. 5) Worship is really good but don't go to this church if you want strong Biblical teaching. It is a very doctrine light church. You'll get the milk every week but meat is not on the menu here. 6) No pastoral accountability. Pastor Kit was behaving un-biblically and I asked to have another pastor get involved and come over and join our conversation that night. Kit refused. There were other pastors there that night so why would you refuse to have another pastor offer his advice on whether this was Biblical or not? He then tells me to leave the church and call him later that week. Finally he calls me 10 days later and after being unable to come to terms, I also asked for the senior pastor call me and Kit refused. Left messages for Glenn and nothing.

RE - MARINERS NORTH IRVINE CAMPUS -…read more Short summary - Decent church for families, not the best church for progressive, independent thinking adults and new Christians: To provide context for this review, I'm writing this not in an attempt to embarrass church leadership or be passive aggressive, but rather, to share an authentic, truthful and vulnerable experience that allows others to come to their own conclusions about whether Mariners North Irvine would be a good fit for them. As I write this, I am a female in my thirties, I am relatively new in my Christian journey, not entirely familiar with the Bible, college-educated, and progressive-leaning. I had left a previous church in Irvine that I felt wasn't entirely welcoming, and to this church's credit, I felt very loved, seen, and supported during Rooted and during the coming months. I had objections and doubts about the Bible and the faith, but Pastors Steve and John made themselves available to answer questions and provided enough reassurance for me to believe that I could work through my doubts. I also felt that the leaders of my Rooted group (which later became a life group) were very caring and affirming, and due to everyone's support, I became very committed to Mariners Church and the Christian faith. Unfortunately, my time at Mariners North Irvine did not have a happy ending. Several months after Rooted ended, I started to experience doubts about the faith and issues with the content of sermons or the content of the Bible that I didn't feel could be properly addressed in Life Group meetings, and some objections and frustrations I shared about hard topics (genocide in the Old Testament, LGBTQ+ issues, dangers associated with the Great Commission) were met with dismissive or passive aggressive responses. I realized that the culture at this particular church, or at least the design of their Life Groups may not have been suited for people who were seeking rigorous discussion and answers about challenging issues related to faith and that certain people who the church allowed to lead these groups, even if they were well intentioned, may not have been trained to handle these situations or respond appropriately to a believer's doubts or authenticity. At a prior church I attended (The Village Church of Irvine), one of the leaders of the small group I was in had a degree in apologetics, and they devoted a section of time at the end of group meetings specifically to discussing heavy subjects. Some members of the group genuinely enjoyed discussing these challenging topics and appreciated hard questions. While that church was not perfect, I appreciated that at least there were opportunities to have rigorous discussions for people who wanted to explore the faith at a deeper level or seek guidance from other believers on hard issues without judgment. The population at this church is primarily Asian and family oriented (I can say this because I am Asian myself) and I got the general impression this church would be fine for families and people who are willing to uphold the status quo, but it would not be a friendly place for anyone who is a deeply critical thinker, seeking diversity in a community, needs a better intellectual or deeper understanding of Christianity, single and looking to meet other singles, or is sympathetic to the LGBTQ+ community and their causes. I am not saying that the people and the leaders at this church are not good people, but at the end of the day, I sadly felt that this church could not meet me in my current season of faith, was not a good fit for my intellectual needs or progressive leanings, and could not offer me the kind of diverse community and long term support I may have needed to get through my doubts.
