I'm so grateful to Rob and The Cupcake Delivers for making my gender reveal dreams come true! The cakepops were HUGE, delicious, and beautiful, and made for a really special evening getting to find out the sex of my baby at the same time with my husband and family. (Spoiler alert: we're having a GIRL!) I was going in for my ultrasound on a Friday at noon, and had a planned early birthday dinner with my family the next evening (Saturday.) I was hoping that I'd be able to reveal the sex of Baby F. after dinner the next night, but most bakers that I spoke to said they'd need a 3-day lead time to make it happen. Not The Cupcake Delivers, though! Rob was so accommodating and friendly, despite my kind of crazy request to get the cakepops with basically 24-hours notice, lol. I spoke with Rob earlier in the week, and he assured me that it would be no problem for him to find out the sex of the baby on Friday after my appointment, and have them delivered the next day. Joy! So, flash forward to Friday after my appointment (where I had my eyes shut during the appropriate times, hehe). I called Rob on the cell number he had provided, and had the technician tell him my results privately. Easy as pie! The cake pops were delivered barely 24-hours later, directly to my parents' house in Falls Church. They were beautifully decorated -- completely covered in white chocolate so there was definitely no way to see the color of the cake inside, and then covered in alternating pink and blue colored sugar. They also had a little white chocolate question mark on each one! Once my family bit into the pops together, the cake inside was moist, delicious, and PIIIIIINK! I'm super grateful to Rob and The Cupcake Delivers family for being so amazing, accommodating, and helping me celebrate a really special event on such short notice. Unfortunately, my experience with them was very poor and not at all what I expected. I booked online for cupcakes to be delivered for a birthday surprise for an old friend. At first things seemed OK; the company called my friend, asked for a delivery window, etc. However, they never actually delivered the cupcakes. They claim that they attempted delivery and that no one was home. However, my friend lives in a upscale apartment in Alexandria, with a concierge, and the concierge confirms that no cupcakes were delivered. My friend has been living there for three years now, and he's never had a problem with deliveries, so I tend to believe the concierge. I was surprised, and attempted to contact the company for an explanation. The responses (via email) were stunning. The company stated that they delivered, and that "once the cupcakes are out of our hands, we are not responsible" ! The tone of the emails was also rather surprising. Lots of businesses make mistakes, no big deal. But when a customer asks a reasonable question, such as "Can you confirm the address you attempted delivery at" and gets a response that utterly dodges the question and attempts to place the blame on me, it's clear that this is not a professionally run business. I cannot speak to the quality of the cupcakes. For all I know, they're really good. I would NOT recommend you use this company for online orders or surprise deliveries. Go and pick them up in person, and avoid the unpleasantness. -- read more

I was worried about getting placing an order online for a unicorn themed cake and cupcakes within 2 days. A very pleasant person called me the next day and let me know they would not be able to complete the entire order (a cake with fondant and 6 cupcakes with fondant) due to drying time with the fondant by my deadline. They worked with me, the cake artist worked a little overtime, and I was able to get the cake I wanted with a slight modification to the cupcakes. Not a fan of the cupcakes. They all look great and different but tastes exactly the same. They have a heavy spongy-like cake and stiff heavy icing. I can compare these cupcakes to the store-bought ones in Giant or Target. I definitely prefer the Pastry Xpo Cafe cupcakes over these. read more
