This home-based bakery is truly out of this world! We've ordered from them a couple of times for special occasions. Our latest conquest were vanilla cupcakes that were moist and spongy and not sickeningly sweet. You can order a minimum of a dozen cupcakes then choose from a variety of frosting flavors; we opted for dulce de leche, lavender, and lemon. The frosting was smooth and buttery; the lemon happened to be my favorite (refreshing and tart). I really love how professional looking they are without losing its sense of "homemade, from scratch" appeal. Service and communication is top notch! They generally need some time to fulfill your order (it's recommended that you allow at least two weeks) - the owner is super sweet and was able to accommodate our order that was a liiiiiiitle bit late this time around. So happy I stumbled upon Sugar Defined on IG. Thankful Chiyon was able to craft the delicious desserts for my baby's birthday. With so many options to choose from, I went with mini vanilla cupcakes; half with dulce de leche cream cheese frosting and other half Oreo frosting. They were delicious, not overly sweet, & the perfect bite. Our guests enjoyed them! I'm not a fan of ordering cupcakes (I prefer whole cakes) bc they are a hit or miss IMO, but these did not disappoint. We also ordered Belgian chocolate mousse cups which were decadent and the perfect sweet treat. I contacted her about a week out and she was already super booked (and sadly unable to fulfill my order for passionfruit mousse) so contact her wayy ahead of the suggested time. Ordering was simple - send your request (menu with pricing and forms are all online) she lets you know if she's able to fulfill & confirms the order then sends an invoice & lets you know when/where/time to pick up. Her style is minimalistic, with great quality and flavors - which I'm ALL about versus desserts that are gaudy with lack of taste. They are packaged with care. I come here almost every year for at least 1 persons birthday treat, so I think I am due for writing a review! Chiyon, the owner/baker, makes the best cakes! So far, I've had the Nutella Meringue cake, the Chocolate Cake, the lavender/lemon/dulce de leche cupcakes, and dulce de leche thumbprint cookies. I was looking for someone to cater a baby shower I was throwing for my best friend and after a quick google search I found Sugar Defined to be the prettiest. I have to admit I was more interested in looking for some photo friendly desserts for the shower but luckily not only were they beautiful but tasty as well - the guests were all commenting about the delicious cheesecake frosting cupcakes but most importantly my best friend and guest of honor loved it and she's a chef so that meant a lot! I had first tried tres leches in Costa Rica years ago and since then, I've been comparing all other tres leches to it. Some tres leches cakes are dry and are basically white cake.
