This is a great little treasure trove of an antique shop! My friends and I live up the street and stopped in on a rainy Sunday afternoon to browse. The owners are very friendly and were happy to answer our questions. The shop carries a huge array of fascinating objects. The front of the store is devoted to local paintings, jewelry, and other art objects. In the back, there's a wall of jars containing beads, charms, and other trinkets - perfect for a jewelry or craft projects. There's also a variety of interesting French antiques (especially the memorial plaques made with sculpted hair). I particularly enjoyed looking through the selection of antique botanical prints and maps. They're very reasonably-priced and perfect for framing. I must return soon to pick some out! This is the perfect place to visit if you're looking for a classy gift, materials for an art project, or a unique piece for your home. read more

This shop is a wonderful Seattle find. One of my favorites. They carry a lot of jewelry and art but I am more drawn to the paper goods and antique finds. I try to stop by every month or so and they seem to always have something new and amazing. I have purchased a few antique vintage prints here that have quickly become my favorite possessions. Such a great little shop. Not entirely my style, but I with it were because I really enjoy rummaging around the constantly changing inventory. They have collectibles that I have never seen before. Once there were these beautiful old pieces made out of human hair. It sounds strange, but they were fascinating. Everything is well edited and displayed beautifully. The owners have always been really nice and helpful. The perfect combination of attentive, but not hovering. read more

One of my most favorite shops! Jeweler, artist, author, and more, Andrea, and her husband, Laurent, are also beautiful human beings and amazing shopkeepers! Not only is this sweet shop filled with Andrea's exquisite and unique jewelry creations in a style all her own, but Laurent returns from his frequent trips home to France with treasure troves of incredible antiques, mostly small, many of religious origin, some used in Andrea's creations. High quality art, as well as crafts, in many forms and media appear in the shop, some by Andrea, some from family members and other artists. There is too much lusciousness here to describe it all! Found myself nestled inside The Curious Nest on this blustery autumn afternoon and was greeted by a delightful couple chatting in French. This is a fantastic spot for unique gifts, gorgeous Catholic antiques, Victorian mourning art and stunning handmade jewelry. I found myself intrigued by an assortment of vintage skeleton keys and purchased one from the 17th century. I stopped into the store to pick up a Birthday Gift for my wife. I was pleased to find so many options. Initially I thought the decision would be tough because of the number of great options. However, I explained that I was looking for a gift for my wife and her style. Andrea directed me to many great options. It didn't stop there because Andrea explained the history of the various vintage pieces including those she had designed and her inspiration for them. The story of the jewelry I chose made the gift to my wife even more special. Andrea's moms paintings also hang in the store. I was blown away with the detail in her paintings and the value of the original artwork. I would highly recommend this store for true original artwork, jewelry and paintings! My friend Cathy and I attended the opening of this adorable little shop this past November. As we took our first look around my friend leaned over and whispered "If we were just walking down the street and happened to stop into this shop, we would just die...." That statement really summed up my immediate feelings. It was so true !!! There were so many tempting pretties I didn't know where to start. First off, the location is divine. Lots of neighborhood parking and situated between The Queen Mary (a wonderful authentic tea shop) and the Pair restaurant. Owners Andrea and Laurent are sweet, helpful and very very charming. For those wanting to treat yourself or purchase a gift for a friend there are cases full of Andrea's beautiful one-of-a-kind handmade jewelry, local artist Debbie S.'s beautiful and sometimes whimsical paintings,cards,jewelry boxes and other objects. And the shop is loaded with intriguing antiques shipped from France. These include vintage religious fonts, framed Mourning photographs, vintage botanical prints, and many other items chosen and displayed with great care. For those of us interested in making our own jewelry, Andrea has stocked the shop with dozens of little glass jars filled with vintage beads and baubles. She also has a fair amount of buttons. These could also be used for cards or other handmade craft projects. Classes are available but fill up quickly so be sure to check by calling or visiting the shop.( where you can see finished examples of the projects !) This has got to be one of the most unique shops I've ever been to. The creativity and display will surely capture your imagination. My mother, sister and I still talk about this place when we visited two years ago. I'm glad we signed up for the newsletter so we can up on all the truly unique items they've created.
