    Pistachio and cheesecake

Loved stopping in here while on the road back from Sutton! The chili smelled amazing, but we were in the mood for ice cream. They suggested pistachio and cheesecake and it was so good. The blueberry was the surprise favorite, though.

Dog friendly seating!! Right off the highway so great for roadtrips. They have a window or you can go in. Nice bathrooms the hot dogs are just ok. Not anything special. Just a delivery device for the very good chili. The corn dogs were good and the kids enjoyed them. We all got different flavors of custard. Not thick as you might expect but more like regular soft serve. We got bubblegum, watermelon, amaretto, and fudge brownie. All were light and good. I was nervous with the service reviews I saw but we had no issues. The place is clearly a local favorite.

I was in the area and love trying local restaurants so stopped in to The Custard Stand. The young ladies working were friendly and took my order almost immediately. I enjoyed the chili dog with onions, onion rings, and carmel sundae. The food arrived extremely quickly, hot and aromatic. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and it was quite tasty. The rest room was clean and well stocked. There was a refrigerator stocked with hot dog sauce and chili soup. This establishment is just off I79 at Flatwoods and a nie break from the usual fast food restaurants...

Cute little spot to grab a bite when traveling. If you have room to take something home - grab a container of their A-mazing hotdog chilli(it's packed with flavor)!!

I was very relieved to see this place within a pretty short walking distance from our accommodations for the night. I was also relieved to see that it was still open shortly after 7 on a Thursday night bc Google scared me saying they closed at 7. It's possible that they do bc when we walked in there was no one else there. Could also be bc it is a very small town. They don't have alcohol which was a bummer. They do have enticing sports-bar-like appetizers and fried ravioli which caught my eye. We kept it simple and both ordered burgers, I was grateful for the veggie burger option. Service was great. I, as a vegetarian, don't usually order burgers so I needed some assistance. Our server basically held my hand through the whole thing and asked me step by step how I would like mine. GF and I both succumbed to the side of fries. The burgers were served on a really delightful brioche bun with fresh lettuce. The fries were incredible. Our server went above and beyond and asked if we wanted any dipping sauces, finally a server that speaks my language. Very good experience here in this very unique restaurant.

There is axe throwing i immediately noticed upon entering. I think I was expecting something different bc it is a "Bistro". It has more of a Bar and Grill vibe. I ordered the steak bc of reviews i had read, and I was ready to love it....but it did not deliver. Both of our steaks were over cooked. Our bread, which looked delicious, was cold in the middle, perhaps frozen and reheated not long enough. Portions on then sides were small. Cheese sauce on the fries was saucy. I would have preferred actual cheese. We ultimately sent food back and ordered a burger and reuben and were pleased. Most outstanding thing was the wait service and management! They did make sure we were happy. They apologized for the leas than stellar experience. I would come back again. I felt like it was just a one off. We all have times like this. I think the menu is creative and Sutton is just such a cool vibe. I am rooting for this place!

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel other couples deserve to know about our experience…read more We had Fish Hawk Catering booked for our daughter's 220 guest wedding. About 3-4 months before the wedding, I asked if we could add a second appetizer to our final tasting, and I specifically offered to pay for it. I understood what was included in the tasting and was simply asking to purchase an additional appetizer so we could make our final decision. It was a simple bruschetta appetizer--nothing elaborate--and I even explained that I was sure I wasn't the first mother of the bride to ask for an additional tasting item. I truly didn't feel it was an unreasonable request. Unfortunately, the conversation with the assistant, Sheree, became uncomfortable very quickly. She insisted no exceptions would be made. I even explained that if I were dining in their restaurant, I could simply order and pay for an appetizer, so I was only asking to do the same for our tasting. I remained calm and respectful throughout the discussion and explained that my goal was to maintain a positive working relationship as we approached the wedding. As someone who has spent my career working with the public, I understand that not every request can be accommodated. What matters is how those situations are handled. When I asked to speak with the owner, Dale, I explained that I didn't want this to become an issue because we needed to work well together as we finalized plans for one of the biggest days of our daughter's life. Rather than discussing the situation or trying to find a resolution, he simply told me he was canceling our contract and would return our deposit. He did return the deposit, but he never reached out afterward to discuss the situation or attempt to make things right. Being dropped only a few months before a 220-person wedding over such a minor request was incredibly stressful. My daughter was devastated, and we were suddenly left without one of the most important vendors for her wedding. In my opinion, that was extremely unprofessional. Thankfully, our wedding planner, Brittany with Brittany Anne Events, immediately stepped in and found us an incredible replacement. Christine at The Stone House Catering was everything you hope for in a wedding vendor--professional, accommodating, kind, and genuinely invested in making our day special. The food was outstanding, and she personally visited every table during dinner to make sure our guests were enjoying their meal. Avery, owner of Dish'd, created a beautiful cocktail hour that our guests are still talking about, and she also catered a wonderful brunch for our wedding party. Both women went above and beyond, and because of them, our daughter's wedding day was absolutely perfect. One final disappointment came after the wedding. Several vendors made me aware that Sheree continued contacting them and speaking negatively about me. I was told she referred to me as "a piece of work" (or "a peach") and even suggested that I was somehow responsible for another vendor's decision to step away from the wedding industry. That accusation is completely untrue and honestly left me speechless. Throughout every interaction with Fish Hawk, I remained calm, respectful, and made every effort to de-escalate the situation. I know I can be direct, but I never raised my voice or treated anyone disrespectfully. For those conversations to continue after our business relationship had ended--and even after my daughter's wedding was over--was deeply disappointing and, in my opinion, another example of unprofessional conduct. Our wedding day was everything we dreamed it would be because we were surrounded by vendors who genuinely cared about us and treated our family with kindness, professionalism, and respect. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I cannot recommend Fish Hawk Catering to any bride or couple planning one of the most important days of their lives. Reliability, communication, and professionalism matter, and sadly, that was not our experience with Fish Hawk Catering.
