We visited one of our good pals who was temporarily housed at The Dagny because his apartment flooded. First, the good: pool area and club room are quite nice and inviting. Now, the not-so-good: the units are fitted with builder-grade materials that have no business in a "high end" rental tower. the cheapness of the appliances and flooring, etc., do not match the exorbitant prices. also, the entry door is surprisingly unappealing and non-luxurious, to the point you might think you're going inside a Hampton Suites. they spent a ton of money making an architectural statement with the building itself but REALLY cheaped out (more than most developers who know they are building rentals) on the interior. read more

I applied for an apartment at The Dagny and paid a security deposit as part of the application process. My application was denied, and despite multiple follow-ups, my deposit has never been returned. The lack of response and failure to refund my money has been extremely disappointing and unprofessional. I have had to formally demand repayment. For the love of all that is holy, don't waste your money living here. If I can save one person from this place it'll be worth the time it took to write this. This place is the definition of a scam "luxury" building that takes your money and offers bottom of the barrel in return. 1. You will have to walk to the lobby for any deliveries you have. This includes DoorDash and groceries. 2. They messed up my original lease causing me to move in an entire month later, into a unit on a lower floor that was more expensive. When I originally moved in, management was so neglectful I didn't even get an official walkthrough. 3. If you receive a large package, there is no usable cart to bring it up. The only thing the building offers is a small, janky hotel cart with wheels that barely work that can't fit most large items. 4. There are so many dogs in the building that the outside of the building is riddled with excrement because people wait last minute to walk them and they go outside the door. 5. The management doesn't respond to emails AT ALL. So if you have an issue, you might as well call the police directly. 6. The mail room is a disaster. And I probably still have several packages buried somewhere in there. 7. My floor constantly smells like weed. When management wouldn't do anything, I asked to move, and they said it was a minimum of a six-month stay and an additional $1,000. 8. The quality of materials this place is built with is very poor. For instance the bathtubs sink when you step in them. 9. You also won't get enough hot water to take a decent bath. All in all, DON'T DO IT! Pay for a newer building that actually tries. I decided to deny my lease after being approved due to the unprofessional and rude behavior exhibited by the leasing office. The particular leasing agent I worked with was rude and off putting throughout the entire process. Starting with the tour, he had his airpods in and was looking at his phone the entire time. We walked in awkward silence unless I asked a question forcing him to look up from his phone. When I asked about the application process he said he did not think I would be approved. After applying, getting in contact with the leasing office was frustrating and my leasing agent was often extremely unprofessional on the phone. He even became confrontational after I made a complaint about the customer service to a different leasing agent, saying he listened to the recording of the call. If he is any representation of what the staff at Dagny see as acceptable I simply couldn't see myself living there. read more

After telling them we wouldn't be renewing our lease, management asked if they could do anything to keep us as residents. My response: "No, your units are just priced too high, especially given the lower quality of construction. We thought we were getting a premier apartment for this price in Atlanta. It's a nice new-looking building right now, but the faux flooring and stone will wear out fast. And just other little things here and there that obviously are the result of corner-cutting... for example, the cabinetry is really cheap and keeps having issues even after having maintenance do repairs. Right now the screws fell off one hinge and I still haven't had anyone come fix it because it's just annoying that things like this keep happening after the unit has been lived in less than a year. And I won't bother you with all the details of the ant infestation fiasco last year, but I'm concerned that it wasn't really addressed and that they'll keep coming through the walls again this year. "Also, the attention to safety and quality of life around the building has really dropped with the new ownership and management. Non-residents are parking in the parking garage often, and we've called about our neighbors smoking over a dozen times (literally) with no repercussions, so our unit often smells like weed. (And bad weed, to make it worse.) Our contract was very clear about having a zero-tolerance smoking policy, so I don't know why that has been ignored." They didn't respond. read more

Whatever you do, DO NOT LIVE HERE. This place has been hell since the day I moved in. Last night, I just had my 2nd attempted break-in by a RESIDENT. I know this is a resident because after the 1st attempt I installed a security camera at my door. After eventually seeing the camera, the proceeded to remove it from the wall and steal it. Fortunately, I have everything on the Cloud. I was told by Leasing that this was NOT the resident's first attempt at doing this - of course, I was never given this safety-relevant information prior to signing a lease. This is in addition to the extremely loud DJ pool parties on Sundays, my Uber Eats being stolen in the lobby (again, by a resident), and a leasing office that has a very difficult time responding to emails from residents. Having two kids in college, downsized for city living and having been here since 2019 this is hands down the best location in East Midtown. Everything is walking distance between grocery stores, Ace Hardware, Coffee, Fitness, restaurants, belt line, healthcare, park and my favorite-late night dancing. Love our Apartment and 24th floor views including sunsets, safety with pet friendly walking corner on 7th. We have added security that walk our area 24/7 just to ensure our safety. The pool and grill area is another favorite with all the friends we have me here. The apartments are so modern and love the private patios as well. Joe, Jordan, Corey, Marquelle and Madison are all so friendly as well as our 24/7 concierge. Having renewed once, will likely stay as long as we can! This is one of the very friendliest areas I have lived in. read more

Do not recommend!!! Prior to move in. I was working with an individual named Madison. Who was "suppose" to provide updates and the pre-move in packet via email to review. For days, I did not hear from her and was told she would call me back. Due to my move in day approaching, I drove 4 hours to Atlanta to speak with her and at least check out the unit I would be living in. I was told by Madison, that it was not possible because she had an appointment. After speaking with the manager, he gave us a tour of the unit and answered every question presented. Madison eventually got back with me concerning the move in packet. Move in (5/4/21) Unit was not cleaned. A dirty, frozen soda bottle was in the freezer. The fridge had stains throughout. Spaces in between flooring, dirty fingerprints along the ceiling in the shower, nearly broken doorknob. See pictures with dates below. Throughout stay: Ant infestation, broken washer/dryer (reoccurring issue with tickets continuously placed), shooting and violence outside of the building. Broken garage door gate almost weekly. When gate was brought to the attention of management, was informed that it hasn't been broken since April and there were no complaints made about it. Took videos and pictures of opened gate and emailed it to the carter hasten email a few times as proof. Email listed below. On one occasion my infant daughter and I was followed around the garage by a strange individual. I immediately reported it to the onsite security guard. Of which he stated he would canvass the area. When brought up to a leasing agent, he appeared to be very nonchalant about the occurrence and asked for a police report if it happened. Lastly, my car was broken into. My trunk was found open, document/letters in my seat, but nothing missing except my parking sticker. The same leasing agent implied that I stole my own sticker to use on another vehicle! (I ONLY have one car). When my car could have been towed without the sticker (Tow truck canvass the garage almost if not daily). In addition, I am a travel nurse and I was leaving the same week to go on assignment out of state. So why would I steal my own??? There was no concern for someone potentially using my old parking sticker to park in the resident only area. Truly disappointed in the quality and service received at this establishment. Move Out: 06/16/21 Dropped off my keys a week and a half prior to my move out date. As I was truly eager to just be done here and move on with my life. After living at what used to be a great building here in midtown, I'm counting down and happy that our lease will be ending soon. We moved here when this building was Hanover and since Carter Haston has taken over it's clear that this company has no experience with operating a building of this magnitud. Concierge- they use a 3rd party company that just sends over a body to sit at the front desk to open the door and answer the phones most of them have no idea about how parking or anything else useful as they always say they are new here. With most covid rules being relaxed we still have to go downstairs for our deliveries it's had to say it's due to covid when none of the staff wear a mask. Building Management/Office Staff- ideally they prefer very little resident interaction as they are typically on "conference calls" or "unavailable" when you actually need assistance. Try stopping by the office anytime and you will see the doors are usually closed to avoid any interaction or give them a call, and you'll get the voicemail no worries, They NEVER return phone calls even if it's to address building saftery concerns. If you see them on they elevator, don't expect them to say hello unless a co-worker is near I was lucky enough to hear one of them venting about how her check was 1k short just a few days ago but couldn't say hello when she entered the elevator. Building Cleanliness/Upkeep- you would expect this building to be clean since it's a " luxury building" well think again since management changes and "new residents" all we see is trash all over the place and it smells like marijuana from the time you leave your apartment to the moment you enter your vehicle. It's even better when you see guys in the garage just hanging out and smoking. Building security- this has gone downhill for sure normal things to see are people coming down to let their friends park in the resident garage, random people following you into the garage, broken garage lift arm (I personally called and left a message so hat this could be fixed 2 weeks later both are now broken and no call back still). The Security guard that they hired is usually in the lobby just hanging out to make it seem like the building is Secure but thats just an illusion it's been tons of car break-ins in stolen vehicles we were told by a ADP officer it's an ongoing investigation with Multiple stolen vehicles. Guest parking is a joke it's only 5 parking spots if you leave a car for a day it's possible you may get a big green sticker just because "management" feels like it's been there for a while. Although per our lease guest parking has no set rules their just doing whatever they want at this point. The safest shared place seems to be the package room hopefully, it Stays that way. From reading reviews from other residents this is the new normal for the duration of our stay here at The Dagny Midtown I'm expecting to see a response from the property manager with the charades that he genuinely cares in reality, it's just so that potential residents and readers feel like they have it together please don't fall for the beautiful views. The Dagny is a top 5 most expensive apartment building in Midtown Atlanta, and the rooms and amenities are as nice as you'd expect for a pricey building. On the other hand, in the last three months, we've had a shooting in front of the building, car windows in the garage smashed (multiple times), and the bike room raided. To be fair, after the shooting, management seemed to increase security in the lobby. But the gate to the garage is always broken, and the parking security seems more focused on booting cars than preventing break-ins. This is even more surprising given the area outside the resident parking gate is public parking, and seems to be Atlanta's hottest destination for sketchy people smoking in their cars. Which reminds me, as others have said, the place always smells like weed, except for the times it smells like cigarettes. People constantly trash the community spaces (the cleaning staff does their best, but you can only do so much). Overall, the building is nice, the maintenance and front desk staff are pleasant, and the area around The Dagny is great. But there's no real security and you'll consistently be dealing with other people's BS. read more

I came to the apt to visit a business client on 9/6/23 at 530 pm ...a young African American lady with thin hair was working the concierge..... i came in and informed the young lady i was there to see my business associate i gave her the apt i was going to ... the young lady started off nasty and rude from the start! No hello how you doing or nothing !!!she snapped at me and asked did i park in the garage . I informed her that i didn't i was dropped off ... she proceeded to ask me what apt unit i was going to...i told her again ... she then snapped at me and asked very aggressively what was the gentlemen's name i informed her i only knew his last name he was a newer client couldn't remember was just dropping off paper work.i informed her the gentleman told me to give her the apt num and i should have no issues....she gave me a dirty look and insisted that i needed the gentleman's first name...i politely told her to hold on called my client and asked his first name again which caused even more frustration because now i have to inform my client that i didn't remember his first name... after i gave the young lady the name, she tried to make it seem like i had the wrong name. I said ma'am the name is Jose.. she said 10##i said no ma'am 10##... at this point I've told here the apt 3-4 times so now i know she's giving me a hard time ... after she enter corrects info she snaps at me and says sarcastically "sign in on the book please" so as I'm signing in she then comes and say "did you pay for the parking on the st so you won't get booted" i said ma'am i just told you i got dropped off... she then responds back "i was just asking because i didn't hear your ass the first time and for that you can just have the tenant come down and get you " i asked are you serious?? She rolled her eyes and continued to gossip with another tenant she was gossiping with when i walked in.... I called my client told him what was going on ... he calls downstairs and she got nasty with him also ...this was completely disheartening due to the fact I'm a visitor who was thinking about relocating and would have been interested in possibly living there myself but the unfriendliness upon entering the establishment has completely turned me off ... makes me wonder what type of management is hiring such ignorant individuals... beware of the skinny thin hair 5 foot 7 girl that works at the front evening shift!!!! read more

So left a review and was told to call or email management (in my previous review I stated the were unresponsive) but they asked me to call and speak to the manager well I did and got same treatment as usual. Manager refused to accept call even though I stated my name to receptionist instead the receptionist got back on phone and stated that the manager was about to email me with the amount of my security deposit which baffles me because they denied us however I decided to wait and see what this was about even though my roommate and I have decided not to move there due to items from previous post. As an update to my previous review of The Dagny Midtown: With the help of some amazing neighbors, we were able to obtain the name of the female tenant in this corner unit on the 26th floor. We have witnesses that did confirm marijuana is being smoked OFTEN in this unit and a minor child is present. Child Protective Services has been notified and an investigation is beginning. Management still has not done anything about the constant smoking and odor. If any other neighbors want to DM me, I have photos and more information. read more

If you can overlook the disgusting dog area, the constant smell of weed, and don't mind a gated, yet unsecured parking deck (I had 2 vehicles get broken into) then this may be the place for you. The building itself is nice but ever since The Dagny (Carter Haston) took over, this property has gone completely downhill. Management does a somewhat decent job of acting as if they care when you have concerns but in reality they will say whatever it is to get you to be quiet and never do anything to actually solve the problem. I moved in to what was once called the Hanover Midtown in July 2020. The property was absolutely gorgeous. The pool and amenities areas were beautiful and clean, the staff were kind and welcoming, the package room was clean and organized; and the maintenance was quick and efficient. Since Carter Haston took over the Hanover property and renamed it to Dagny, my experience has been nothing short of Hell. I pay $3,800 (rent + mandatory parking fee) for a 1200 sq. foot 2 bedroom apartment. An apartment that constantly smells like tobacco and marijuana due to the smoke coming through the vents from my next-door neighbor's apartment. It reminds me of the mids kids at my high school would smoke rolled with tobacco, so to say the smell is bad would be an understatement. (It's 2021, buy a Volcano???) I have let management know on at least a dozen occasions. My original lease with Hanover had a strict and explicit NO smoking policy, which was apparently void under Carter Haston. To make things even worse, the smoke coming into my closet through the vents has stained my clothing with a smoke smell. Management refused to do anything about it under the guise that they "were not aware of the complaints." Not aware of the emails and voicemails left over a four month period? I can say honesty and transparency isn't valued much here, either. The elevators are constantly musty, the buttons sticky and the carpet in all of the hallways reeks of marijuana and tobacco. The stains on the carpet and the dirty walls are just added touches. The pool deck is constantly crowded with residents' guests that do not respect the space nor clean up after themselves. My floor has turned into something of a party floor every other weekend to the point that I feel like I live in a frat house, NOT a luxury complex. Hanover management was absolutely amazing, and I am hoping to move back with them to their Buckhead location! I am not affiliated with them at all, but I can confidently say that Hanover management cared about the quality of life their tenants had, and it truly showed. After Carter Haston bought the complex, it is not worth even half of the price they charge. If you want your clean clothes to remain clean, or to be respected in your own home, save your money and stay away from the Dagny. read more

Moved to atlanta for work and was lucky enough to find the dagny. The amenities are great and property is very well kept/clean. The staff hosts small events to give residents an opportunity to mingle which is cute. All staff is always been very friendly and readily available. I contacted office and spoke with a leasing office agent to reschedule my appointment from Friday to Sunday. I was told to come at 12 pm. The leasing agent Madison was not in and arrived at 1 pm. She said that she can not show me the apartment because she has another appointment at 1:30 pm. After driving one hour and waited another one hour. This is not right. Would not recommend this living environment to anyone. Was told this is a smoke-free community. Total smoke free. NOT TRUE. There are so many residents smoking marijuana (and cigarettes) in their units (with the door open to attempt to ventilate) as well as on their balconies. When I brought it to management attention (Loni Burke) - I was told they could do nothing except a "lease violation" notice and there were no consequences to residents. In other words, they are not going to penalize anyone for violating this rule and other residents have to suffer and put up with this violation. Nice flashy appearance but poor management. I moved into Hanover Midtown - now the Dagny Midtown on Feb 13, 2020. The view was the main attraction. 2 months later, they began construction of a 39 story student housing center right outside my window. I was never informed of this construction project. Over the past 15 months, as the growth reached closer to my 21st floor, the noise levels got unbearable starting Monday-Saturday 7am-6pm. No way to sleep past 7am and could not even sit on my balcony due to the noise and they even had a spotlight on the crane that beamed into my bedroom at night. I have no privacy since 50-100 workers were right outside my windows. I asked the Dagny management to consider lowing my rent of $4,000.00 since I obviously was seriously inconvenienced. They refused. When I decided to move, I asked them to consider allowing me to end my lease on August 31, 2021 instead of Sept 12, 2021 to give me some consideration for the inconvenience I experienced....they never responded. On top of these major issues, they have 4 elevators and 1-2 are out most days so waits are long. They have 5 guest parking spaces for 350 residents. If your guests park in garage they will get booted within 15 minutes. They do not allow any deliveries to come to your door, everything is left in mailroom or on a unsecured table in lobby. I have had food deliveries taken several times. Due to all these issues, I cannot recommend the Dagny and I am honestly glad to have some peace and quiet in my new home in Buford. read more

To whom it may concern, I am a resident at the dagny midtown and I'm having issues with your management staff. I'm not sure if you are aware of all the issues that have been going on in the luxury building that we pay top dollar to reside in. We are definitely not getting your money's worth, I've been a resident since 2020 and the building has been going in the wrong direction since the middle of 2021. I've spoken to numerous other residents who feel the same way. These issues range from the unsolved murder that happened in April in front of the building, where was security? Then the dangerous garage which I have witnessed multiple drug deals happen, cars being broken into, the strong smell of urine, broken glass and trash. We only have 6 spots for visitors to park and we had a Black Hyundai sitting in 1 spot for a month and half with the front passenger window broken out and glass on the ground. When you express your concerns to Management they are passive and are more concerned with booting cars for the profit they get back instead of resident safety. Last spring they brought in a security company to the property and it was good at 1st and for almost all of 2022, we don't have constant security any more, some days you them some days you don't. I have pictures of blood droppings on the floor by the elevators in the garage that sat there for 2 whole days before it was cleaned. I have pictures of spit on the walls inside the elevator, dog urine as well in the elevator. Also urine and trash on the steps in the hallways. Now my next issue is I reserved the club room last Sunday June 26 from 3 to 10 pm. The gathering had some music being played and when the issue of the music being too loud I addressed it multiple times. We were gathered outside by grills as well as inside the club room and around the pool, at no point was this a pool party. The gathering went longer than expected but this is not the 1st time I have reserved the club room and we stayed past the time and I haven't had any complaints. My friends and family and I cleaned up the club room and I have a video of it. The only thing was the floor was sticky because we didn't have a mop. I got an email Monday morning from Madison stating that the club room was left unacceptable and they are applying my $ 1000 deposit to cleaning fees. Next it reads that they have been made aware that me and my guests refused to leave the club room after multiple requests and that all future reservations will be automatically canceled. I went to the office to address it and I let her know that none of what she emailed was true. 1. Club room was clean except for the sticky floor and we were never, I repeat never asked to leave, and I asked who asked me to leave she couldn't say. She then says that we stayed past the time I had reserved and she lives on that floor and stopped by on her way home. I let her know that is the only true thing that happened. She says the police came for loud music and another false statement. As I'm speaking with her Joe chimes in and says that he had his cleaning crew up in the club room cleaning the floor for 3 hrs that morning and that he was charging me 1k. I told him no, that we didn't have a mop or it would have been mopped and that you're not going to charge me 1k for a sticky floor. I told him that he needs to have his cleaning crews stock the bathrooms with tissue because there was none in both the womens an mens bathroom and I told him he is concerned with the wrong things how about making sure the blood is not laying on the floors for 2 days, spit on the elevator walls, windows missing on doors, car break ins, and worry about the murder outside the front door. I then proceeded to mention about the scamming that being done in the office, I told him that you all tried to steal 5k out my account last month and he acts like he didn't know what I was talking about and I told I spoke with you last month after my bank called asking about did I write a check to a kamoni Odom for 5,043.38 and I told him that I only wrote checks to pay my rent to avoid the service charges, so someone in your office is stealing people's information and trying to cash checks, he acts nonchalant about it and told that me that he sees fraud everyday. My bank has told me to look into pressing charges for Aggravated Identity Fraud a felony charge, computer forgery which is a felony and up to 15 years in prison, deposit account fraud. He then goes ahead with a untrue email to all the residents about the unauthorized pool party and that he is going to have security guards there in the evening til midnight on the weekends, and that he is working hard to remedy the situation, and that they are taking it very seriously. How about he remedy the MURDER outside the building situation, and that his residents don't feel safe and all the AirBnB's rentals that's inside the building.
