This was my first visit to the Daily Grind and really enjoyed my mocha frappe and the service. Will definitely go back and try some of their food items next time.

There was something different about this place from the first time I visited. There was more seating I believe? The food was still awesome! The service still great! I had the Greek salad and yes I do recommend. My dad had never been before so I suggested the spicy chicken wrap they have "chic a boom" I believe is the name. See previous review. Yeah he was a fan, though he said, "boy this has a little kick to it" .

Hamburger Pasta served by, the ever-bubbly, Camille makes for the PERFECT Wednesday treat! We will definitely be returning!

Absolutely the best place in Meridian. For a variety of amazing food. The atmosphere takes all the stress away. And the people are the best. We became like family real fast with the amazing staff

The Daily Grind is a charming little hideaway in a sleepy little city. The closest Starbucks is approximately 80 miles away near Jackson, Mississippi. While I'm famously addicted to Starbucks, driving over 1 hour for a Chai Latte just isn't practical. Luckily for the 38,000 Meridian residents, the Daily Grind offers a fabulous coffee shop experience complete with Chai Lattes and an array of blended coffee drinks and Frenzees. They also take their proximity to New Orleans seriously and offer excellent Beignets. Breakfast is served from 7:00 am until to 10:30am. Lunch begins at 11 and offers a nice selection of Paninis, salads and sandwiches. Don't forget to top all the yumminess off with homemade cake or pie by the slice. Did I mention homemade cookies too? This warm and welcoming spot can't be missed.

Ask the Community - The Daily Grind

I'll be visiting family there soon and I'm looking for a place to have a big vegan breakfast? Do you make chickpea flour omelette? Do you have homemade vegan cheese or do you buy a specific brand? Do you make your own seitan?

Give them a call. They do have veggie choices. And have a special menu. :-)

The exposed brick and thoughtful décor struck the perfect balance--classic and nostalgic with just the right touch of modern style. We were immediately welcomed by the sweetest hostess (I hate that I can't remember her name--she had glasses, a beautiful smile, and the cutest dress). She greeted us with genuine warmth and hospitality that's hard to come by these days. She led us into the main dining room and seated us at a charming table dressed in crisp white linens. The space featured more exposed brick, tasteful artwork, and just the right amount of décor. The temperature was perfect, and the tables were spaced far enough apart to create an intimate, relaxed atmosphere. Our waiter arrived promptly and was both friendly and knowledgeable. He clearly knew his craft and took the time to walk us through the specials, making sure we felt confident and excited about our choices. We ordered sweet tea, which was perfectly brewed--not overly sweet, just right. The complimentary peanut butter and crackers were something new to us, but after reading about the history behind it, we appreciated the thoughtful touch even more. Our food arrived quickly, and everything was fresh and cooked to order. We tried the spicy chicken sandwich, the cheeseburger, and a special featuring a panini with a cup of gumbo. Each entrée came with perfectly cooked homemade chips. Every bite was spot-on--truly a 10 out of 10. Even though we were full, we couldn't resist ordering dessert--when in Rome, right? We chose the peanut butter pie and the famous Black Bottom pie. After one bite of those generously sized slices, we all paused and just looked at each other. I don't exaggerate when I say we unanimously agreed they were the best pies we've ever had. What started as a plan to sample a few bites and take the rest to go ended with two completely empty plates. We consider ourselves food lovers, and I genuinely couldn't find a single flaw in the entire experience. We live nearly three hours away and are already planning a trip back. If you've made it this far in my amateur review, thank you--and I truly hope you get the chance to experience this wonderful, history-filled gem for yourself.

Maybe even a "Super Cracker Not Lacking Electro Current Cracker Barrell"! ™. It's mine, you can't have it. I will find you! You can juice up the ride and fuel the body with some mediocre foods. That's like a win/tie!! Get it?? Win/Tie?? I am just so witty, I can't stand it! Our original server traded us off for a regular that came in and sat in another section. It's hard to deal with rejection right at the beginning of a relationship. We barely even just met, lady!! I shook it off well as the other server l was really nice and took good care of us. I'll send the therapy bill to Martha later. I never got to see any of the remodels that occurred that got everyone up in arms about Ol' Uncle Hershel, so this one looks just like they all do. Cool fireplace, nice warm colors. Just the right amount of dust covering the old artifacts. You know.... Just like the old days. Food was fair. My dumbass got catfish worth my UH breakfast. That was a mistake, but other than that I enjoyed my meal. Eggs were perfect and it was hot and fresh. Biscuits and gravy baskets make me really happy too!! Win/tie for sure!! I must not have gotten C's breakfast pic. She had pancakes and bacon which is always a winner!! She probably said something like "how many fucking pictures of pancakes do you need, Adam".... and I stopped. She's cool like that most days. I ended up spending almost a $100 on breakfast because of the stupid gift shop catching my wife with "sales". Is it really a sale if it is junk that you don't need? I think not.... We left with gifts for the in-laws, which I good I guess since we were on the way to see them just before Christmas. They are jerks, and don't deserve things. Nice visit. Supercharger makes it worth it really. I'll be back just for that I am sure. '26 - 7

This was honestly one of the worst service experiences I have ever had…read more We came in on a Monday night too a sparsely sat restaurant. Nevertheless there were 4 waitresses which was more than enough. Unfortunately, the wait staff spent more time talking and joking with each other than serving. It took them 30 minutes to take our order and then 50 minutes to tell me they didn't have the kind of cheese I wanted for my hamburger. So all in it took 1 hour for a burger! AN HOUR FOR A BURGER!! In that time, I watched them serve 1 other table of 4, watched 1 table of 1 pay. Watched a waitress break a glass, poorly sweep it up and then saw another person come by and mop the glass around. In all this time our waitress never came by to check on us, never refilled our drinks or checked on our food. A different waitress delivered my food, again an hour after I ordered it. We asked for the manager after finally getting my food. The manager/floor supervisor was apologetic but also full of excuses. Instead of correcting the staff he started doing their work for them. Including bringing us our bill and refilling our drinks. While going through the bill another patron, having just sat down, and upon hearing our report of the service, got up and left. The manager did give us a discount on the bill for the poor service but I'd much rather have had a good dining experience. I hate to say this but I think age is a factor. All of the waitresses were in their early to mid 20s and really had no work ethic. The manager was similarly aged, maybe slightly older, and didn't know how to manage his team. I think more experienced leadership needs to train the staff from the front of the house to the back. Needless to say we won't be back.
