A solid 4 star visit not quite 5 but close. Not a cheap place to eat that's for sure but I'm not complaining. Breakfast was cooked perfectly and tasted good, service good and the atmosphere was equally as good. As far as breakfast goes I'm still a bigger fan of Cracker Barrel's. Filled with Andouille sausage, green peppers, onions, mushrooms, bacon bits, and home fries topped with green chilis and white gravy. 3 Stars: The home fries were unusual. The seasoning is more Cajun style, almost a crawfish boil seasoning. So, if you don't like the seasoning, you may not want to order the home fries. 4 Stars: Biscuit size was about 2 1/2" diameter. I really like this restaurant. The service is always top notch. That being said, yesterday the food was not good. I ordered the burger and seasoned fries. At first I thought the fries had been over salted so I didn't eat them. Turns out it was the burger! It was terribly over salted. When I got my bill I let the wait staff know. She said someone had told her the same thing the day before. So disappointed this problem wasn't addressed and the bad food continued to be served. I've been here a few times. Food was excellent. I went yesterday and can't say the same although the service was outstanding. I pretty much had raw onions and bell peppers in my home fries. Instead of a grilled tomato with my steak it was pretty much raw, steaks were raw, my cheese wasn't melted on my eggs, and my French toast was soggy. Sucks because I used to love this place. Excited to try this place as a foodie for the first time while visiting Mississippi for the first time as a caterer myself....left me and the other 20 people with me EXTREMELY let down! Food was ordered at 10:27 am. While waiting on our food noticing how other members of our party had enjoyed cocktails, eaten and paid their bills...we sat waiting. We were polite in our mannerisms until the YOUNG INEXPERIENCED Hostess, came with the WRONG ENERGY as we asked for (1) our waitress and (2) the manger. The young lady told us there were tickets ahead of our orders and a few more excuses. Realizing she was in too deep to be truthful, then walked away and a "manager" returned. During our HOUR long wait for food our waitress had to be flagged down and asked several times for the same item. After we explained the issue with the "manager" she only offered up a sad sappy country "l'm sorreh". . Again...where's OUR WAITRESS??? OH...Ova at other tables . We were NEVER ($193.00 plus. 20% tip to the waitress) COMPENSATED for ANYTHING or offered any means to turn our experience around. When the food FINALLY started coming to the table @ 11:30 (an HOUR LATER) by our waitress, SHE STILL DID NOT APOLOGIZE or offer to make our experience better. Meanwhile she expressed heartfelt apologies to a caucasian couple just one table over. REALLY! The menu and customizable option pegs this place to be one to visit in Meridian. Very disappointing. It started with a long wait to be seated. The tables were empty and clean but for some reason hostess drug out seating us for about 10 minutes. Once we were seated, it was another 10-minute wait for the waitress, Shakira, to come around and take our order. We got our drinks and waited on our food. After another long wait, our food arrived and by this time we had already finished our drinks. Shakira states, "2 drinks coming up" and never returns. While we were waiting, we began to eat our brunch. To our dismay, we found that the side dishes and stone cold, in this case French fries and home fries and that Shakira had not brought the salsa included with the omelet. At this point, we are about half to 3/4 finished with our meal and still no drinks, so I take our glasses and walk to the front to ask for refills. I find Shakira and several others standing around talking, so I ask for refills to which Shakira snaps back, "I told you I was gonna bring you drinks!" Her co-workers give her a look, and she reluctantly takes my glasses and proceeds to slam them into the soda machine. Mind you that the ice had already melted so it was just the liquid out of the soda machine at room temperature. One co-worker even offers her a scoop of ice and she just turns around and gives me the glasses. So now I have COLD FOOD and HOT SODA. I walk back to the table and Shakira follows me back and puts my bill on the table and tells me to pay when I'm ready and starts to clear the table. So, we have to tell her to stop because we weren't done. After we finish, I place my card into the bill holder and wait. Shakira walks by and sees it. She takes out a device from her apron punches in a few keys and lays it down on the table and walks off. Nothing I love more than to pay $35 for a cold breakfast for 2 with lousy service.
