My daughters (ages 5 & 9) have attended The Dance Academy with Ms. Francine for the past 3 years and counting. You can tell that Ms. Francine, Ms. Marisa, Mr. Igor, Ms. Caitlyn, Ms. Victoria, Ms. Clara, Ms. Maddy, Ms. Kaylar, and really ALL the teachers truly care about the well-being of all their students, and the studio feels like family to us. My older daughter has enjoyed the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) track, while my little one loves the hip hop (thanks Mr. Ethan!) and ballet/jazz classes. I personally love the adult ballet classes (Ms. Caitlyn!) There are a lot of choices for after school activities, but the integrity and professionalism of this studio makes dance my girls' favorite activity. Lastly, The Nutcracker, Spring Performance, and June Show are INCREDIBLE productions, and they really show off each dancer's technique and love of dance! read more

My oldest daughter started taking classes at TDA in early 2021. Though there are many other reputable dance studios closer to our home in central San Diego, we continue to make the commute to TDA (several times a week!) because I truly can't imagine a more supportive, nurturing, and family-oriented environment for my daughters to dance. Both of my older girls (ages 8 and 5) are in the RAD ballet program. It has been incredible to see the progress that my oldest has made from her time in Pre-Primary three years ago to where's she's at now in Grade 2 this year. She loves the structure of the program and the challenge it provides, but also appreciates the theatrical elements and "playfulness" that are naturally embedded within the curriculum. We appreciate the variety of classes that the studio offers- lyrical, jazz, tap, acro (and so many more!). My girls have loved every class they have tried. And our whole family looks forward to the Nutcracker every year. The professionalism (and fun!) showcased at TDA performances is unmatched! I imagine it is difficult to strike a balance of both expecting a lot of young people and also nurturing their spirits/love for dance. TDA hits the nail on the head in this regard. We couldn't be more thankful to Ms. Francine and all of the staff at TDA. My girls literally run into class and give them the biggest hugs every week. As a mom, that alone says it all. read more

My daughter is in the ballet class for 10-13 year olds. She's really enjoyed moving up to this class as it's a big step up from her prior classes for younger kids. It's been challenging/fun class for kids that like ballet but aren't on the competitive track. read more

My daughter has been dancing at The Dance Academy in Del Mar since 2022 and we love it there! She has grown so much as a dancer and has such confidence and poise even at almost 6 that she has gained from her experience with working with Ms Francine and her incredible staff. The instructors really make us feel like family and not just a number like some places do. My daughter has tagged along with friends to other studios and they do not compare to the experience at TDA, at almost 6 my daughter can do more than run around with scarves in ballet shoes, and TDA knows that and helps your child grow at an age appropriate pace. We drive all the way from Rancho Bernardo multiple times a week because we love the program and how my daughter thrives there. The performances put on by the studio (Nutcracker, Spring Ballet and June Recital) are next level, my parents still rave about them due to the level of professionalism and how entertaining they are to watch (and they don't just mean their granddaughter's performance) I highly recommend TDA to everyone I meet! read more

We love The Dance Academy Del Mar - Ms. Francine and the entire team are passionate about dance and committed to kids of all ages and skill levels! My girls have been going to TDA since it opened and as their other sports commitments have ramped, the TDA team continues to demonstrate their understanding and flexibility. We enroll and unenroll seamlessly when there are conflicts that force us to change days/classes, and we squeeze in make up sessions as needed. The studio is clean with dedicated changing areas, and they keep the girls safe during class transitions/pick ups/drop offs. While my girls are not choosing to dance at the RAD level, we still feel like part of the TDA family. And the friendships they have built outside of their school/district will certainly last a lifetime. read more

This place is a total scam. I took my daughter to one dance class. The room was over loaded with girls, no ventilation and hot as an oven. They charged me over $200 and keep hitting my credit card for $108 per month. I have stopped by several times and left several messages. They will not respond.
