Because you have to put your card on file when joining the school they have access to charge your card whenever. When I noticed I was charged an extra $55 in the month of November I asked Ms.Julie the director of the school what the charge was for. She told me that it was a custom fee for the recital in May and if we decided to not participate in the recital that we will be able to apply the $55 towards tuition. Later I decided to withdraw my daughter from the school. I asked them to apply the $55 towards the last month they charge upon withdrawal. Expected to be charge an additional $20 being that a months tuition is $75 and clarified with Abbey the Receptionist when I turned in my withdrawal form. To then be charge then entire $75. Still believing in the good of people and ethics in their business I figured I would call and explain what had happen and everything would get fix. Instead they never picked up or return my call after leaving a voicemail. Instead I received an email from Ms.Julie stating that costume fee are non refundable. Even though I wasn't asking for a refund I was simply asking for the charge to be applied towards tuition being that my daughter wasn't participating in the recital. I tried calling multiple times and still no answer so I decided to take a trip to have a conversation with Ms.Julie. Ms.Julie was very condescending and continued to interrupt me while I was trying to explain her the entire situation. She ended up cutting me off mid sentence for the last time and dismissed herself. My 5 year old daughter who looked up to Ms.Julie and was attending her class for several months was doing the potty dance and told me she really had to use the restroom. I started to walk towards the restroom with my daughter when Ms.Julie told me my daughter her former student is not allowed to use her restroom she needs to go next door to the gas station. My daughter was very hurt and I was disgusted. I am happy with my decision of withdrawing my daughter from this school. It was never about the money for me, rather about ethics and professionalism which clearly they have none at the Collierville Arts academy. These people don't accept honest feedback only compliments. They never admit to any wrong doing and never apologize.

They make ballroom feel accessible without sacrificing any of its style or finer points. The studio itself has great energy and you can tell that the owners care about their students. Well let me inform you- I am the single most uncoordinated gal on the planet. I dance like Elaine on Seinfeld- actually she puts me to shame. I've been known to trip over lines in the sidewalk, carpeting that is too thick and run into walls without any given notice. Yes, I did Zumba. I was never aware of what this actually entailed, but was always slightly curious, though obviously not enough to warrant checking it out. A friend told me about the classes at Midtown Dance Studio, conveniently located in Minglewood Hall and within walking distance of my house. All this and only $7 bucks? ($40 unlimited all month- and they have weekday classes as well. Freaking steal!) There were no excuses. I agreed to go this morning. I foolishly researched a video of it a mere 30 minutes before leaving my house and almost backed out. This requires some serious rhythm. Which the dear Lord decided not to gift me. I put on my big girl panties, sucked it up and showed up for the 10 am class. Cue the warm up. Hey, this isn't so bad. I can keep up! Perhaps those videos I watched were advanced! Look at me go! I'm keeping up with the instructor. Next song, not as easy. Okay, I'm just out of shape. I just had a baby, it's hot in here. I can keep going with some minor adjustments to this crazy foot work. Two songs later, asking my friend for the time. We've gotta be close to wrapping this shit up. 10:22?!?!? WHAT?! Okay, I can do this. I can't breathe- but it's all good. Fake it till you make it! Oh, that lady in front of me is pausing. Good. I'll just go grab my water bottle. Whoa! What is going on with the footwork here? I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror. I look like a lame horse or perhaps a donkey. Cue the incessant laughing by me and the little boy who was drug to the class by his mother. I can't stop laughing. I'm burning more calories laughing than shaking my hips. Is it just me or do parts of Zumba remind you of the dance Patrick Dempsey does at prom in Can't Buy Me Love? Laughing uncontrollably again. Cool down! Ahh yes. This wasn't bad. I was actually quite good. I can do this again next week! Judging by the extreme lack of rhythm going on in my class that thought process has to be pretty similar in everyone's head. Otherwise this place would be empty. If your excuse is that you think you'll make a fool of yourself- screw it. I just made a fool out of myself for the both of us and then some. It was fun. I enjoy laughing at myself- and really points to anyone for showing up and trying. I'll definitely be back- though I'll be having meetings with Billy Blanks in my living room this week to try and build up some stamina. That shit is rough yo!

Showcasing many known Productions like The Wizard of Oz Annie & The Hobbit just to name a few. These plays have always been well produced & well casted thanks to their director & his crew who always have kept the show going smoothly. The props & backdrops were were well designed & crafted. The backdrops I found most impressively designed were the backdrops for Wizard of Oz when they were doing the scene with The Munchkins. The props just added a great realism to the scene they were design to be used in. The lighting is fair for a fair for a small town theather as I wouldn't expect the same quality you'd find at the Orpheum or GPAC. Their sound system is adequate & I can hear each performers lines & the music with clarity. As I said kept simple & not sacrifing in the way of ticket prices. Low ticket prices & while keeping great quality in productions is a key to this Performing Arts Center success next to their casting dm& play director. I do admit they could use better seating it offers some decient comfort unlike other places who offer better comfort to enjoy a long production. But let Harrell Theatre wow you with their new production of Steel Magnolis coming in February. Enjoy the show. Indeed the productions at the Harrell theatre and we have treasured this venue as intimate and cordial for any type of production. The phrase, "Not a Bad Seat in the House" comes to mind. And the venue often has had some really special talent in their programs over the years which have been truly excellent and community building.
