As an actor in the resident company during the summer, I had the amazing opportunity to live on the Priscilla Beach Theatre campus. I lived in the Farmhouse, which houses around nine people, a costume shop, costume storage, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a black box theatre. I felt like this was my home away from home during the summer; it kind of felt like my first year of college again when I lived in a dorm. You become really close with the people you live and work with - you form really special bonds. One of the really incredible things about being cast in A Chorus Line and A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum this summer were the directors I had the fortune of working with. Emily Maltby directed A Chorus Line and Ron Fassler directed Forum, and both of these directors helped me bring some of my best work out on the stage. They affirmed and encouraged their casts, and maintained an expectation of professionalism throughout the summer. If you're an actor looking for summer work, I couldn't recommend this company enough. You'll make friendships that last a lifetime, enjoy sunny days and starry nights at a beach that's a five minute walk away, and get paid to do what you love!

This was a particularly special occasion as three of the fighters who were participating in the event train at my boyfriend's gym. We were both eager to go and support them, to cheer them on and provide the moral support during their fights. Upon my first impression, the venue seemed quite compact from the outside. However, the building extends back further than one would expect, offering plenty of space and creating an atmosphere that ensures every spectator has a great view of the intense action unfolding in the cage. The venue has multiple levels, which allowed for a greater number of spectators. It was clear that the design had been carefully considered to ensure that everyone, regardless of where they were seated, could watch the fight with minimal obstruction. The only problem was a lack of seats which meant that some people needed to stand until others left as it would appear that they oversold the tickets. I did enjoy the event, taking in every punch, kick, and submission attempt. It was more brutal than I had anticipated, but it was entertaining/exhilarating and I couldn't stop looking at the action!

Ultimately we ended up having a tasting with Mike. We ordered a charcuterie to go along with it. It seems that they typically do tastings at the bar counter, but they also have a number of tables for people to sit at. While the dining room is small, we felt comfortable based on how many people were there. The windows look over the parking lot and down to Plymouth Harbor. Now for the wines: At this winery, fruit is king. Most of their wines are fruit wines, but they do have some grape wines as well. You will have to visit to taste between their wines. Some of our favorite bottles were the Strawberry Bay, Widows Walk White, Apricot Bay, and the Colonial Red. Definitely make an effort to try all of the wines, as there a few enough, but also because they can be compared to one another (but all are truly unique!). It is worth getting the charcuterie with the tasting as some of the items pair very well with the wines. Mike also did an amazing job of curating a tasting experience that left us wanting more! He juxtaposes the wines to various other products they sell, and embellishes with the best stories!! Do take time to visit this winery when you are in Plymouth, and enjoy some wines that you will not find anywhere else!
