I recently adopted a labradoodle who is a bit skittish, but she needed a bath, haircut, and nail trim as it looked as if she hadn't been groomed in a while. I was able to get her in for grooming quickly and they were able to successfully bathe and groom her. She now looks like a million bucks and I'm a happy and grateful pup mom because I have a clean and beautiful dog! I also appreciated that they called me during the day to let me know how she was doing and they carefully went over grooming options. In June, I took my 15 year old Schnoodle to get a bath, nail trim, and groom and they took their time with him, treated him like the older distinguished gentleman that he is, and also did a fantastic job. Came to DD because our usual groomer is booked way out. Not a fan of the uneven cut my dog received today. Paid $60 for this when at our normal groomer we would pay $30 and he would actually come back cute and looking like a Shih Tzu They made his head look bigger than his body... Nails are also uneven and very sharp, could've used a Dremel to file down the sharpness. There was no reason to cut his THIS short and so uneven, I'm honestly devastated and I can tell he is not the happy go lucky little guy he usually is :/ Most likely not coming back. *I would like to note that I brushed him out before my husband took him to be groomed so there was no need to be shaved down as much as he was I should've just cut him myself for free instead of paying an outrageous amount of money for poor shoddy work :/ read more

Doris shaved my beautiful Pomeranians coat and then made up a lie saying she was going out of business so I wouldn't come back. My Pomeranian was wasn't matted because she was taken monthly to the groomers and we had told Doris never to shave her. All I can say is WOW. Dropped my dog off at 9 am for his appt. They didn't even have him on the books because apparently "they lost a couple pages". They finished his haircut at almost 5 PM. I was extremely thorough when explaining what I wanted, and they did an extremely sub par job. Random long hairs all over the place, random chunks or hair that were clearly scissored off, and the bottom of his chin is so clearly crooked and chopped up. Zero attention to detail for a dog that was there for SEVERAL hours. Probably wasnt let out to pee or offered any water either. The building had a bunch of dogs in kennels, hair absolutely everywhere as if they hadnt swept in a week with random small dogs walking all around in it. Gross. They charged me more than I was quoted for a dog who is easy to groom and no matting. Will never come back here again. Not even to fix their butcher job they did on my dog. read more

I made a 10 AM appointment which was confirmed days in advance. I dropped off my pup five minutes before the scheduled appointment. I didn't think much of it at the time, but four other dogs were dropped off at 10 AM. It's obvious now that they overbook in hopes that someone won't show. I called at 12:40 to check on the progress only to find out she was still in the cage, no wash; nothing had been done. I was informed that she would be ready at 2:30! After hearing this, I immediately went to pick her up. I should have known better than to leave her in a place where they have a bunch of poodles prancing around, while she had to sit in a kennel. I did not realize that I was making arrangements for a 3 hour cage lock up. She was so excited upon seeing me, not because she wanted to show off her new haircut or shiny clean coat, but because she just wanted out of the damn cage! When I got her home she ran right over to her water bowl and then to her favorite pooping spot. This was quite a shitty first experience for this pup. I will much rather have a happy hairy dog, than to ever have to put her in doggy jail and wait on those pompous poodle faced old hags. read more

Took my Goldendoodle to The Dapper Dog on Friday 12-7-2020. I was very excited to try a new groomer as my previous groomer had an injury and can not groom my 45 lb pup. I have my doodle groomed every 60 days. When I dropped off my doodle there were 6 loose Yorkie dogs loose behind the gate with one doodle being groomed. I asked if they were all being groomed and they said no, they were the groomers dogs. I commented because there were 5 Yorkie barking their heads off which I would imagine just added to any customer dog stress. I decided to leave my dog with the request that she receive a full puppy cut with some whiskers and a tail, a lion cut. When I picked Mia up I was SO disappointed with how choppy her head looked. I paid my $80 bill and left a $12 tip. When I got home I really started looking at her and there were 5 Large clumps of matted hair in her ears. I had told them before I left to trim her ears and safe some hair on her ears if possible. They never even ran a comb through them let alone clipped them. Dropped my dog off at 11:30 this AM to be groomed, place looked unkept and dirty. I was told it would be about 4 hours before he was done. After not receiving a phone call for pick up by 3:45, I went back to the business to check. My dog was in a kennel, I was told owner had an emergency and had to leave; her assistant was there grooming another dog. There were 4 other little dogs playing on the floor, which was covered with dog hair, and another dog in a kennel. The assistant said my dog had been bathed and brushed out, which meant he had spent most of the time in the kennel. Needless to say, I demanded to take my dog and will NEVER take him back there!! read more

I have a 2.5 year old Bernese Mountain Dog, 140lbs. The staff was helpful, polite and very good with Blue. he had a wash, de shedding and trimmed up. I took my dog in to Dapper Dog on Saturday for the first time for a groom and nail trim. I asked them NOT to cut my dogs beard, I come back to get him 4 hours later and his beard is gone. Then when we get him home and out of his crate I notice he is walking funny. So I give him a once over and his scrotum is bright RED and sore. read more

Not impressed. This is my second visit to Dapper Dog. Walked in and staff weren't wearing masks and took forever to put one on before I approached the counter. They asked how I wanted my dog cut and I let them know I wasn't 100% happy with the cut they gave my dog the first time and asked if they could please do something different with his ears because they got matted very quickly the first time. The lady was rude and basically told me she can't change my dogs fur (NOT what I was asking her to do). Anyways, the place was messy and customer service is not good. Was not impressed with my dogs haircut for the price and after giving this place 2 tries- I will not be returning. read more

First time customer, this may change after my second attempt. Doris was very knowledgable. Obviously in the business for a while and took the time to chat with me and find out what I wanted for my beautiful little toy poodle. She was not the one who groomed him. I understand the old fashioned method of hiring your bath girl and training them, but I got the groomer everyone is complaining about. I was so excited when I saw poodles running around, I made a point of telling them my Chucky is super socialized, nuetered and fully vaccinated and I was given the impression he would be allowed to romp around with the other dogs which made me happy as he has a bit of kennel stress. I was also really excited by the idea of him being groomed by a poodle person, as poodles have very unique hair and dont look good with just any run of the mill hair cut. I was very disappointed when I picked him up. I asked for a basic clean up of his head poof and ears, which a poodle person would know means very basic scissor work just to even out the little wisps. They cut it down to the length of his body. I had him in a grown out teddy bear. He came back in one of those very generic little old lady cuts. I asked his fur be taken to half an inch, this groomer shaved his entire body the same length, all but his ears, which were left long and flat and totally untouched. His beautiful tail poof, my favorite part of him, was a nub. It was also obvious they did not complete the job. Poodles poof when you use the high velocity dryer on them and brush them out, especially my boy who has a gorgeous show coat. When I picked him up he dying of thirst and his coat was obviously towel/cage dried as it still had the fresh out of the tub curl and his ears laid totally flat. I had to finish him at home, as it was obvious he had not been brushed at all and while one side of his face was shaved properly, the fur around his left eye was jagged and looked like a kid with scissors had gone at it. I have never had to finish a 60 dollar grooming job at home... I had to re-shave around it to make it even. His paws were shaved fine on the top, but still had quite a bit of fur between the pads and they did not finish the bottoms, which I will let slide because he does have ticklish feet, but I've never had a groomer not be able to do at least some of it I should also note that I called 2 hours in and was told "We're running behind" and that his groom would take 4 hours... He was not matted or dirty or even that grown out, I brush him daily and he is on a 12 week groom shedule. I was not asking for a continental cut on 8 inches of unbrushed fur or anything fancy. I just wanted a bath and a clean up trim, with face, feet and sanitary. His belly was untouched, though they did trim around his bits, I had to re-shave that area as well as his bum because a trained groomer knows you close shave the belly and rear in a sanitary, this is not a Shitsu or Llasa Apso, this is a poodle that area gets matted and nasty and requires a close shave, not a trim. Still, there is no way this should have taken so long. I dropped him off at 11:30 and was not called to pick him up until 4. He was miserable when I got him. I am pretty sure he spent the ENTIRE time in a cage. He was so unhappy when I got him, he wouldnt even touch the liver treat I offered. There was no happy poodle prance, just a frantic desperation to go home. He barely made it outside before peeing a lake, chugged water like a mad man and clung to me like his life depended on it. Its obvious they did not pay any attention to his needs while he was there, a very dangerous thing if you are using a cage dryer for his entire drying experience. I will give them one more chance, this time being much more clear about what I want and why, I understand there is a learning curve, but I would not recommend them and I am not impressed. For 60 dollars? I expect more then something I could have done better at home. read more

I have been going to Doris for about 3 years and she and her crew are great. They always make time, so you can usually get in and out quickly. They do a wonderful job and the price is reasonable. Doris is always so sweet, kind, and gentle with the dogs. I would not go anywhere else!!! We have had her trim her hair, get bathed, nails trimmed, and teeth brushed. We don't always do the whole treatment, sometimes just the nails and teeth. read more

Dapper Dog is great - I'd have a hard time taking my standard poodle anywhere else. My pup won't even let me come within 5 feet of him with a brush, but he always leaves Doris's shop in high spirits. I feel comfortable knowing that my dog is in capable, experienced hands. read more
