It's two stories, and well curated, with very well-organized displays. Ulysses Grant White founded this store as the U.G. White Hardware and Implement Company in 1917 - Wow! That's been a minute! Displays boast a variety of candies and sweets; fresh coffee; a small selection of items from 1818 Farms (sister's favorite lip gloss, beautiful kitchen towels, botanical wax sachets); jams, salsas, relishes, and fruit butters; candles; Lodge cast iron cookware; Case knives; old fashioned children's toys; clothing (socks, SPF hats, shirts); mugs and more! We enjoyed the covered front patio area and spent a good while chatting there!

My adult son is immuno-compromised, and as such he wears a mask everywhere he goes. His partner also wears one so they don't get sick and give it to him. When we got into the store we split up. Unknown to me at the time time, the store staff was overheard talking about them saying things like ... you don't wear a mask because you're smart." They were also treated so poorly being stared at like they were subhumans. I wish I had known it at that time or I would have left without making my purchase. I noticed the typically friendly staff wasn't making eye contact or being friendly with me as they had done in the past. Even the kid at the register was being combative when I corrected him that the price on the bag was cheaper than what it rang up as. I calmly and politely explained to him that it's illegal to charge someone a higher price than what it's marked, and when he argued with me I told him that they should fix it immediately because they could get sued for that. A manager lady came over and fixed it (an older lady with white hair.) By that time my son and partner had already left the store because they were shunned and made to feel uncomfortable. This was Saturday, August 19th in the early afternoon. I'm leaving this review because I genuinely hope that the owner of the store reads it and cares enough about their business to reprimand these employees and the white-haired lady who was obviously in charge. Because money is money and you shouldn't treat customers that way. Literally perpetuating negative stereotypes about ignorant Southerners, and embarrassing yourselves. So if you don't economically survive, I won't be surprised, because maybe other people have been treated this way too and they won't be coming back either. Life is too short for bigots to thrive, and it's unchristian of you to do so.

And she worked with me to find the most affordable option for my needs. I was really impressed with both the selection and attentiveness. I came in looking for an outfit for pieces I could use in a costume. When I let the owner know I expected to be met with scoffing or disdain but instead she was very friendly and quickly made some suggestions that ended up fulfilling my needs perfectly! For such specialized gear the cost was much more reasonable than I expected and she actively helped me find the best deal. I would absolutely recommend this business to anyone. Well, I previously would have recommended this place. I got two missed phone calls and a voicemail…read morefrom them, asking to call back. I had a quilt bound way back in May 2025. I knew I didn't have anything that I was waiting on, so was suprised to be getting a call. The lady on the phone said that they had been audited, and the invoice from my quilt binding back in May showed that they hadn't charged me for the fabric I bought for the binding (?). They said I had a balance of $5 and some cents- I was in disbelief, that they would call me, the customer, MONTHS later, and ask for a payment of $5...... If their employee messed something up and didn't charge enough or didn't ring up the fabric....... that is NOT on the customer to rectify months later. Honestly I was so flabbergasted I did pay it- the person on the phone said she was "just doing her job" because she had been asked to call BY THE OWNER. So the owner thinks it's on the customer to pay an outstanding fee for an employee's mistake, again..... MONTHS later after the fact? She reiterated that they had been audited-- I mean...... bummer for them but again as the customer that is absolutely NOT my problem. And certainly it isn't my responsibility to rectify. Astounded that such a small business would even attempt to bother a customer about this months later. Such a sour taste in my mouth. There are multiple other quilting stores around, and I have had quilts bound and/or quilted at other places. I'll probably never go back because I can't even believe the audacity of a shop owner. They should have eaten the cost or taken it out of the employee's wages (whoever messed up). Anything would have been acceptable rather than bothering a customer months after the fact. This would never happen at a larger retail store- and I probably should have just refused altogether. If I had not been so shocked I probably would have. Would they come to my house and demand payment? The entire situation is so bizarre. Beware to customers across the board when this is how you're treated.

Osborne's came through again! Sister Deborah and I planned to honor Momma's death by visiting her…read moregrave and placing a wreath on it on her 1 year anniversary of leaving the Earth. We had a lot of details. Special prayers, a glass of Merlot (her favorite) and a toast to her and pouring some Merlot on her grave in her honor. (We both wore special pieces of jewelry and gave us as 10 year olds and teenagers through later on in life , some of which we made into more modern pieces).Then more prayere then enjoying a meal at one of our favorite restaurants that Momma loved, too, Fulin's, where sweet Miss Vivian works as a manager. Long story short. Getting home from this emotional and beautiful day I noticed the top of Momma's class ring was missing. It wasn't a traditional class ring with a stone it was more of a crest. I had had the ring for decades and only worn it a few times before damaging it. I was so sad. Enter Osborne's. They made her ring better than it was before and just delighted my heart! I can't thank you Osborne's adequately for being kind, professional and really loving their customers as we honor the lives of loved ones who have gone before us. Thank you so very much! Your creativity and skill is beyond compare and is gratefully appreciated. Consistently so! Thank you Osborne's!
