I am not sure if the venue supplied the decor or not, but the entirety of the venue, even down to structure of the actual building, is just really pretty. It's simple and has a rustic yet modern and clean farmhouse feel. Lots of greenery everywhere. The party lights strung all throughout the ceiling definitely added a very quaint and warm feel. I was surprised it only took the cocktail hour after the ceremony for the staff (of whom was very inconspicuous... I don't even remember barely noticing staff) to turn the room where the wedding took place, into the reception! With tables, linens, big grand center pieces... I mean... the works! Had I known about this place 4 years ago when I was getting married, I probably would have had my wedding reception here. We learned that you can pick your own caterer and provide your own booze which can go along way in both cost and allowing you to truly customize your special event. This was one of the top contenders for our wedding day. What ended up keeping us from booking is that we wanted to have a November wedding and this venue is perfect for outdoor weddings so it just was too much of a gamble with the crazy Ohio weather. The staff was excellent -- always checking in to see if we needed anything. According to Charlotte, one of the venue coordinators, they can seat about 150 max. The wedding I attended had a little under 100 guests, with plenty of room to move about with the dance floor set up in the front of the venue. For the ceremony: There is a beautiful outdoor terrace overlooking a pond w/ a fountain. Plenty of seating with a small aisle for the bridal party to walk down. For the reception: There is plenty of room! Tons of natural lighting. A concession stand type window bar area and an alcove to set up the food and cake tables. I was very impressed with this venue. And then the biggest win at Venue 614 are the owners, Jen and Doug. To put it bluntly -- they just give a f*ck. About everything. They actually care about your experience, and they are incredibly easy to work with. I helped throw a 70-person holiday party recently, and partnering with Venue 614 was a DREAM. We collaborated together, and they jumped through so many hoops to help make my event great. I felt like we were truly in it together. When you have over a hundred guests it's just not enough toilets! The entrance to the bathroom hallway is near the buffet and when waiting in the hallway to use the restroom it stinks. Somewhat disgusting to have a gown on and have to utilize the bathroom there.

Found plenty of parking spots for my event and followed a bunch of familiar ladies up the steps to the Creekside Event Center's 3rd floor. They were a little worried as I seemed to be questionable at first but put their minds at ease I was attending the same event as them for the Women's Philanthropy session of Sharon Tal the Israeli Fashion Designer. The event center itself is so beautiful. They had everything catered from the hors d'oeuvres to the wine bar. The women helped themselves and we stood around mingling and admiring the designs of Sharon Tal. Later we listened to a speech from Sharon Tal and the president of Maskit in Israel, Ruth Dayan. She couldn't be there in person as she was busy celebrating her birthday at 101 years young!! Yes, she does act young for this age, as I viewed a YouTube video of her having a good ole time in the Russian dance club. As a gift Maskit got her a barrel of her favorite alcohol to celebrate her life and legacy of this company. I thoroughly enjoyed this event and learning about how Sharon Tal became a fashion designer from working with the world renowned Alexander McQueen to designed her own outfits for the runway, everything was amazing to see and hear. I hope to be able to attend more fun events like this here again soon!

Unfortunately, the food quality was extremely disappointing and well below even basic banquet standards. We were greeted with room-temperature water (no ice) and bowls of wilted lettuce that had clearly been sitting out for too long. The main course included a plain, boiled chicken breast--completely unseasoned and stark white in appearance. The green beans tasted like they came straight from a can and were also unseasoned--no butter, garlic, or anything to improve their flavor. The only redeeming item was the lasagna, which was actually quite good and the only part of the meal I finished. I work in the restaurant industry, and I'm not someone who complains easily. But this meal was unacceptable. For an event honoring student-athletes and their families, more care and attention to quality should have been given. I wasn't expecting gourmet dining, but serving 700 guests such poorly prepared food sends a message: if they don't put in the effort for a high-profile banquet like this, I would seriously reconsider trusting them with a once-in-a-lifetime event like a wedding.

The facility also doubles as a dance studio and can be rented out for rehearsal space. It was the perfect size for my gathering. Had plenty of space for all of the guests, but was intimate enough to allow all of my guest to socialize. Everything was set up and ready to go when I arrived. All I had to do was lay the food out on the tables and greet my guests.
