In 2022, I petitioned the Town of Greenburgh to enter into the sewer district. A step I had to take before I could add an extension to my home. Town officials and inspectors were not familiar with the process which was anxiety producing and time consuming. Years later I got to the tree removal permit portion of the project. I contacted multiple Arborists to assist. Davey Tree connected me with Paul Vega and I couldn't be more grateful. Paul quickly stood out against the rest of the bunch and with just 1 call I knew our search was over. When describing the scale of the project Paul advised it was best that he come out to the property. I was worried about timing given the aformentioned and ther imminent upcoming holiday. Other Arborists wanted to come out as well but couldn't do so for weeks even months. Not Paul, he made it out within 24 hours. He was polite, super knowledgeable and extremely helpful. He got right to work reviewing my survey and plans. He took measurements and the time to educate my elder father and I on the various tree species (amongst many other related matters). Paul gave me exactly what I needed for the tree removal permit application. Then the Town hit me with requests for additional info not initially required to file. Although his work was technically done, without hesitation Paul helped me get the info they were asking for. The Town then decided we need a landscape plan to proceed. Again, despite completing his work, Paul contacted the Deputy Commissioner of Community Development and Conservation to learn more about why the ask and more about the process firsthand. He helped me to ultimately understand and ascertain exactly what the Town was looking for. He was my Arborist, teacher, advocate and liaison. He significantly simplified a complex emotionally charged process. Paul went wildly above and beyond and without him my project would have easily taken much longer and cost much more. My overall experience with Davey Tree Expert Company was outstanding. Jake Craven gave me a reasonable quote, at a better rate than all of the competitors, showed up on time, and the team of arborists who took care of a massive, twisted, gnarly trunk of a half rotten tree hanging over all the power/cable lines to the house was removed completely and there was no indication at all that anyone was on my property after the fact. Their rates compared to other landscaping companies are very reasonable but the trade-off is you don't alway hear back from Chris Busak, Master Arborist; poor customer service. Also, they removed a large Norway Spruce Tree but didn't grind down all the trunk and roots. I found a stump when mowing the lawn. Know what you're getting. read more

It took 2 weeks to get someone out out to assess the property. The quote came a week later (and we approved it immediately). Another week passed with no follow up. So after a month of back and forth, "Tommy" finally wrote back and said he actually didn't have any availability to do the job and we should take our business elsewhere. Mike's team was top notch. I used them on two jobs at my home, but only after carefully observing the great care, precision and professionalism they displayed removing a massive number of trees from the golf course fairway behind my home. My first job was very delicate - on frozen but thawing ground, they had to precisely fell 3 trees that bordered the tee boxes, not disturb the finely manicured grass on the tees, and then remove alot of my debris so that their golf course customer wouldn't be upset. Work was stellar! Second job was was equally challenging - needed them to climb several trees adjacent to the first job and remove specific branches so that my view of the course was opened up. The work (and most importantly, their CLEAN UP) was absolutely perfect. And they were so flexible in asking me (from way up in the trees!) if they'd gotten the branches that I'd needed or if I needed any others removed! Throughout, Mike was great about letting me know in advance what I could expect in terms of potential changes and the timing of when I could expect the work to be completed. The Care Of Trees did an amazing job. Our new yard was quiet overgrown with many different issues that needed resolving before winter. They scheduled a consultation and really listened to what we were looking for-fixing problem areas and making some of our (giant) trees safer for our house and our cars. Gave a reasonable quote broken down into logical sections and set up our appointment quickly. They finished everything in one visit and when they were gone you wouldn't even imagine what had transpired that day. Tipped and cleared out broken limbs on many trees, removed a tree, overgrown shrubs, ground stumps and chipped all branches and trunks onsite. Three very skilled guys with 2 bucket trucks were quite impressive to watch transform my front yard in a matter of hours. I cannot say enough good things about this company or its employees! I walked by as they were doing a beautiful job pruning a tree on the Upper West Side and asked for their information as there had been an industrial size garbage bag tangled in a tree just down the block for years. They gave me a card, but then to my surprise when I got home that evening, they had taken the time to remove the bag from the tree at no charge and just to beautify the neighborhood!
