I have experienced many teachers and personal development and "transformational" workshops and trainings over the last 20 years. I have also been exposed to several in the domain of sex and relationships. Few are able to offer useful tools, rigorous self-examination, as well as plain old how-to's on better sex and intimate relating. Even fewer can do it from a clean and clear place while clearly being of service to those they are teaching and leading. Plainly put, few can do it "cleanly" and elegantly. This review is LONG overdue! I first took the Pleasure Course four years ago and it has opened up my intimate life in ways I didn't know existed. I have never looked back since. I took the course as a single woman, and I got what it is to own my femininity, sexuality, and pleasure. Having been part of their Advanced Programs, I've been lucky enough to witness radical, permanent shifts among both new and old friends. It's a little over two years since my last review, and I wanted to share that we just got engaged!! My fiance and I have been working with Erwan and Alicia in advanced programs since we took the course over three years ago, and it's been just what we needed. I've never been in a relationship anywhere near this long, let alone one that is so satisfying and rich. Even during stressful times (i.e. right now as I'm trying to figure out my career), we're able to keep the chemistry alive. Our heart-to-heart connection is just incredible, and it keeps getting deeper and more profound. We can completely be ourselves with each other, and the sex is mind-blowing. It hasn't been easy getting this intimate, though. One of the most important things I learned and experienced in these courses is how we as human beings get more and more defensive the closer we get with someone. I have had to move through all sorts of crazy fears and emotions at different times during these 3.5 years - sometimes feeling trapped, sometimes feeling superior, sometimes feeling worthless. Before doing these courses I would have just decided that there was something wrong with her or with the relationship, and that would be the end of it. Now I can own these feelings as just part of my psychology (they're actually not related to her at all), and communicate openly and lovingly. "Hey, I've been feeling really closed off lately. How are you doing?" This always results in renewed love and connection with her, and lots of snuggling. I believe that people can change and I feel that this recent gesture of reconciliation speaks well of both Erwan and Alicia. This course was highly recommended to me and my girlfriend as a way to have a deeper, more connected relationship and it didn't disappoint. When I was single this course would have made a Big difference with meeting and interacting with someone new, being in a committed relationship it's even more valuable. One key thing I learned from Erwan and Alisha is that you never stop picking someone up even in a committed relationship. You can still have those same butterflies you had when you first met even if you have been together for years.It's funny at least for me I thought back and hadn't really refined or thought about refining the way I had sex since my first time. Sure you may have tried something a little different here or there that you picked up in college or along the way but pretty much the same process, no wonder why sex dropped off after time. It's like anything else if you don't learn something new and practice it you will revert back to same old way of doing things. The only regret I have is that we didn't find this earlier. If learning how to have a perpetual happy relationship/ sex life is something you have been looking for get in this course, don't waste any more time with excuses, do this for you, do this for your partner or do this for that lucky guy or girl that gets to meet you after you graduate! read more

I would recommended this course to... most everyone. I went into it not really knowing what I was going to get, but feeling open and ready for something. The teachings are mostly centered around a combination of personal growth, male/female dynamics, and communication. The idea being that you can never really be open to a partner if you aren't really open to yourself, and that men and women are different, and have different needs. That difference can be a joyous thing if given the proper appreciation. There is a lot of strength to be gained here, and a number of useful (!) techniques. Erwan is very gifted at what he does. Very. Highly insightful and dynamic, he is doing exactly what he should be. Alicia provides a softer side to the team, and is very easy to talk to. While completing my second divorce, a friend of mine recommended checking out Erwan. She shared with me her story and the insights she had gained on how to have great relationships...that get better with time. My experience has been relationships start well and always end badly. I can't honestly remember why I took the Pleasure Course, but I knew that it would help me in not only my love relationships, but in my life in general. And it has, because how you do one thing is how you do anything. I'm not one for long reviews, but I do want to share with anyone interested in the Pleasure Course some of the key things that I got out of doing the course that are still so prevalent in my daily life. Erwan and Alicia teach a beautiful way of self-reflection that not only helps you notice the unconscious behaviors that may be preventing you from having amazing relationships (both platonic and romantic), sitting with them and moving through them. Intimacy, vulnerability and opening you heart are scary places for most humans, they are for me, but much much less so now after my experience in the course. I felt so held and safe that I was able to show a little more of myself. And as I did, I found such joy in opening and connect with people--it's really a priceless experience. I took the Pleasure Course in 2006 and have been training in their Advance Programs ever since. I absolutely LOVE this education curriculum and recommend it to all of my friends and loved ones. I was coming to the end of a relationship and feeling very out of sorts and troubled when I took my first course with Erwan Davon Teachings. My experience of myself, and how I feel when relating to the opposite sex, began to change quickly for the better after starting the course. I got to be more capable, powerful, free, and real in the areas of life that used to send me shuddering or panicking or shrinking. I liked what Erwan and Alicia were teaching me about relating authentically to people who I find attractive and care about. I was so glad to be learning how to be that way by participating in courses that were based in meditation and being present. Now, I had been meditating for 20 years and was in fact a meditation teacher myself. Recently I was at a restaurant in Berkeley where, at the entrance, there was a cork board for neighborhood postings. There was a flyer up for Erwan's Pleasure Course and someone had drawn an arrow on the poster pointing to Erwan's face and written, "This guy is dangerous. Stay away." It was years ago that I took the Pleasure Course, and it's been years since I wedged myself away from Erwan and his people. I can, in retrospect, say that I entirely agree with what had been written on that poster. My feeling is that Erwan misuses his power to manipulate people. He is usually surrounded by beautiful women who work for him for free. He is adept at showing you the way to convince yourself that you are not sexually free, not sexually open, and not sexually satisfied. But the kicker is that he prescribes a very particular one-stop solution: allow strangers to give you orgasms. If there is one spectacular thing I am thankful the Pleasure Course taught me, it was a sense of personal agency to get myself out of situations that feel dangerous and to listen to my instincts. All that said, I willingly signed up and paid an egregious amount for the Pleasure Course and I can't blame anyone buy myself for that. When I finally left the Pleasure Course social ring---and it is like a social ring that pulls you towards it---it took a great deal of energy to do so. But that was in itself a fantastic lesson. read more

Make no mistake about it, this is a cult! I was brought to their intro course by a man I was dating. From what I could garner from my own research, it is billed as a self-help/transformation course but is really a sex course which gains you entry into their "community" which is essentially a sex cult. It is very similar to One Taste. First of all, everyone there is very touchy feely. Second, they tell you very little about the course even though it costs almost $1000. The entire time, I just wanted someone to show me a syllabus or a schedule of events or something. They give you NO specific information. Whomever brings you definitely gets some sort of cut of the profits. Third, there are people there who "graduated" who rave about the course, but their speeches are definitely staged. I have never seen anyone speak in front of 50-60 strangers so articulately with no nervous stumbling. At the end, they gave me a seriously hard sell. I told them I couldn't afford it and they left me alone. read more

Once we were in the weekend course we find out that actually we have to pay them even more money to take another class to get what we came for and in the mean time we need to sit through classes that cover things like "how to meet people." I worked with Erwan and Alicia for one year in the Oracle, after completing The Pleasure Course, and I can honestly say that in the past year my love and sex life has completely turned around. When I went in I was quite stuck in the areas of dating men and deep sexual/intimate connection after leaving a traumatizing relationship. Now I am in what feels like the most healthy, smooth, loving and authentic relationship of my life, and having great sex. I can see their concept of "The Eternal Date" and "Soulmate Relationship" as a reality. Although I had also been active in various types of transformational work and workshops and inner work, I give these two credit in teaching me many valuable skills. Such as how to express my femininity more powerfully in the dance of masculine/feminine polarity, attraction skills, turnon skills, how to receive pleasure and have more plentiful orgasms, communication skills, and maybe most of all, feeling and vulnerability. Erwan's clear and concise teachings of psychology, inquiry, inner spiritual work, and exercises helped to move me along on path to my goals, and Alicia's social nature helped me feel taken care of. She's great at responding to texts, emails, etc. They offer some support, advice and coaching (to an extent, until it seems you need to purchase another program like Sensuality Expansion) throughout the year, which I appreciated. All in all I recommend this duo. There *is* something ungenuine or somewhat creepy about their presence that I felt the entire time, which prevented me from trusting them fully (especially Erwan) but I focused on the benefit I was gaining by being a part of the community and learning useful skills. Erwan and Alicia have played a major role in helping me to grow and learn more about myself, my relationship blueprint, and the way my triggers show up in my relationships (both romantic and non-romantic). I was especially drawn to Erwan Davon Teachings school because of the meditation/mindfulness elements interwoven beautifully into their romance and sexuality programs. I have been practicing yoga for 5 years, been practicing meditation for 3 years, and am currently in an integral counseling program studying to be a psychotherapist. I have been looking inward and doing work on myself emotionally and physically for over 15 years with psychological and spiritual leaders. Yet, what Alicia and Erwan offer through their programs is new and expansive. I have taken the Pleasure Course twice (the first time on my own, the second time with a partner), and chose to continue participating in their weekly ongoing mentorship program called "Mastery of Relationships". Despite the extensive work I did prior to working with Erwan and Alicia, I really appreciate the dedicated time and space with teachers who specialize in cultivating thriving and mindful loving relationships with singles and couples. Through their programs, I have found a safe space to work through the pain and challenges that come up over and over in relationships which I just never took the time to explore before. Some of the greatest learnings I have gained have been around the way most conflicts in my relationships have come from own projections of my fears and anxieties on my partner. I have learned to own the deficit I feel within myself rather than blaming it solely on my partner or the other loved ones I am in relationship with. This has given me much more freedom and autonomy to take ownership for the best person I want to be, and to acknowledge and practice accepting my imperfections that will always play some role in my relationships. It is through my relationship with Erwan and Alicia that I have begun to soften my inner critic, and have just began dating a new partner who I am thrilled is willing to explore and accept these parts of me. Erwan and Alicia are incredible coaches. I first took the Pleasure Course in the early 1990s. This was a couple of years after my divorce. I was having difficulty forming "real" connections. Erwan thoughtfully laid out general difficulties and then took each of us through our issues with trust, liking, and loving a person. I returned in 2010. I needed a new perspective. I had been living with my boyfriend for a year. I found myself tense around the relationship and admittedly shrewish. I emerged with a greater understanding of my issues with intimacy. I reflected on intimacy and the journey I had taken from marrying at a very young age through my present situation. That I would recommend this course is a given. I would in fact recommend it to everyone. I wish other people were strong enough to explore their intimacy, sensuality, and sexuality. Sounds cliche, but the course really was life changing for me as well. It was like waking up from a deep foggy dream into crystal clarity. I went into the course hoping for some "tips and tricks" on how I could improve my love life and relationship, but I really ended up coming to understand myself and my motivations much more clearly on the whole. That new-found self awareness is having a ripple affect through my life. This course was extremely beneficial for my husband and me. I started out very skeptical/anxious/suspicious, but decided to go with an open mind. I am so glad I did! First off, I am the friend that invited Sarah B. who wrote the 1-star review. I invited her by telling her it was a class that helps you better understand yourself spiritually, emotionally, sensually. I purposefully did not tell her the name of the course, because I thought it would turn her off. The name initially turned me off, as it sounded like some sort of sex party (which couldn't be further from the truth!). However, I invited her to the party because I know how much she would get out of the course spiritually and emotionally, let alone sexually! I read the yelp reviews before I took the class, and the bad reviews really colored my first impressions of this whole experience. However, after completing the course, it is easy to see through the bad reviews. This course can be very personally confronting. I was ready to take a look at myself and willing to get feedback. I never felt attacked or judged; Erwan gently but directly spoke what he perceived to be going on with me. I have spent time in therapy, and I know what it is like to be confronted with your personal junk. It doesn't feel good. Erwan simply states what he sees/hears from you, and does so in a direct manner. For me, Erwan and Alicia were able to help me re-focus in a weekend on what 3 years of therapy took me to figure out. Is it painful, confronting, scary? Yes. Is it liberating, exciting, fun? Yes. Two issues I want to clear up: -Those of us who invited friends to the party on the last night do not get "some sort of cut of the profits". This is a complete fabrication. -The speeches at 'graduation' are not staged. After three days of intense self-reflection and a renewed sense of life, it becomes easy to articulate what you want out of life and how you think you can accomplish it. We also journaled throughout the process; writing your goals down makes it easier to say what you want. Bottom line, I am so glad I took the Pleasure Course, and I know I got so much out of it because I was receptive and ready to do so. You will have a hard time finding a more reasonable, rational, and effective approach to all sorts of issues relating to love, sensuality, relationships, dating and of course, sex. I've taken advantage of several offerings from The Erwan Davon Teachings org. 1 on 1 Coaching I was very pleased with the 6 months that I spent with Erwan doing 1:1 coaching, he worked with me when I in a state of relatively low self-awarenes, and his patience to my rather large distrust of the process was a huge gift. This was about 10 years ago, and the path that I have followed since then in becoming self aware, and relating to myself and others in a new way was sparked in those sessions. Highly recommend him if you seek 1 on 1 help in creating new ways to see your own life. The pleasure course The experience reminded me of things that I need to work on when I relate to women, the tools that I learned regarding patience, heart opening, compassion are invaluable in marriage. There is a large component of sexuality, being able to surrender / own your desire, and create a reality that satisfies you and your partner. In any transformational workshop, you get what you put in, and you also get what you are ready to receive, so your experience will be different than mine, but I can tell you that this is a place when transformation can happen. I took the Pleasure Course 3 years ago in July 2010. I was very apprehensive because I wasn't sure what to expect, and the thought of sharing in front of strangers felt petrifying. But from the moment I walked into the room, I knew I made the right decision because it was just what I needed to jump start my love life. Erwan and Alicia set up a space that is totally comfortable, and as the course progressed, I felt so supported by everyone- course members, support members, and Erwan and Alicia alike. I learned so much about myself that weekend, including the habits in my dating and relationship life that had up to that point been holding me back. I learned how to better relate to others and how to better communicate successfully my needs and desires. I left the course with a renewed energy and a boosted self-esteem, two things that had been lagging before the course. My love life has done a 180 and I'm having so much fun. For me, the Pleasure Course was life-changing. I've been single for a good portion of my adult life and knew something was in the way but didn't know what. From the Pleasure Course I could see what was stopping me and how to shift behaviors and my thinking to invite people into my life. Through the Pleasure Course I was able to overcome my fear of intimacy, learn how to establish connection with another person and practice communications skills to ask for what I want in a loving and fun way. The Course itself is eye-opening, fun and, at times, hard work. Erwan and Alicia are fun, funny and generous. The material is delivered clearly and honestly. When I signed up for the course I chose to do it by myself rather than with a partner, I was concerned at the time that I might not get as much from the course or that it was the kind of course that would be better to do with someone. I remember Alicia saying to me as I expressed this concern, "the pleasure course is for you". This statement embodies the pure gift which I now feel this course has been to my life and to my relationship with myself. Through Erwan's coaching I found out what had been missing for me to have the relationship of my dreams and how that had stopped me in every relationship I had, especially my relationship with myself. Through the tools taught in the Pleasure Course I invented a new way of being in my life and a new set of beliefs through which to view and empower my relationships. The greatest gift of the Pleasure Course is that I got in touch with my own sexuality and through that the source of my power as a woman. The exercises in the Pleasure Course gave me the ability to bring sensuality, turn on, and romance into a romantic relationship, even when life would seem too busy to do so. What I found out is, what I always looked for in a relationship actually comes from within, and now that I am in touch with myself I can bring that amazing sensuality, sexuality, energy, and connection to the relationship without. Quite possibly the least skillful teacher I've witnessed in years. The course is loaded with outdated psycho babble analysis from Davon as he (based on a two minute summary of students' goals for the class) digs for "deep rooted mommy/daddy patterns'. This might be ok if credible suggestions were provided on what to do with these insights- but they were not offered. What a ridiculous waste of money!! read more

I took the intro class because it was highly recommended to me. However, I found myself very disappointed and feeling like it was financially a rip off. Small Group Exercises: the exercises were interesting but I didn't find them to be of substance or eye opening. They were somewhat helpful but certainly not worth all the money that is charged. Entire Group Discussion- there were group discussion after most exercises. People got to ask questions to Erwan and Alicia. I found that Erwan clearly had "favorites" as he kept on calling on the same people over and over to discuss their issues and offer advice. It seemed like we were all there to witness these peoples' therapy sessions. When someone else tried to ask a question, he answered briefly and did not take the time to discuss it in depth as he did with his "favorites". Clearly it felt as if he wanted to dismiss them. This happened to me and other people. We also witnessed a heated discussion between Erwan and one of the people attending. That was uncomfortable and I felt that Erwan didn't know how to handle it. He also came across as being very inpatient, arrogant and with a bad temper. Don't get me wrong, I do think he is very knowledgeable in this field but I think if you're shy and it's hard for you to ask personal questions, you may not get as much attention or guidance from him, as others. Plus, if you're not one of the ones Erwan prefers, you will probably not get your questions/concerns answered. The last day I wanted to talk to Alicia about a personal problem related to the course but I was told she was not available. Actually, she was meeting with people about signing up for future courses. It felt this course was very money driven and not so much about helping people. As I have hinted, I found this course to be expensive and certainly, I didn't feel I got my money's worth. And even though it's pricey, you still have to provide for your own lunch. Light snacks/drinks are offered but very limited. At one point, I lost my water bottle and when I went to get another one, I was questioned as to why I was getting another one and not refilling mine. Really? You charge so much money and I can't get a second water bottle? I didn't learn anything significant from my experience and felt I wasted my hard earned money. read more

While Beyond Education may resonate with some, I found it to be less than useful. The techniques used in the Pleasure Course have been usurped from long standing San Francisco's Shara Ogin & Lamdmark Education. The "instructors" portray themselves to be experts in sexuality while in reality they are just shysters out for a buck. I have had both the fortune to have a wide and varied sex life & the experience of Landmark Education. This experience affords me an overall perspective that tells me Beyond Education is a hoax. It may serve some as a momentary thrill, but offers nothing in the long term for an expanded or satisfying sex life. I suggest you spend your money wisely elsewhere. read more
