First visit for this guy - first of all I was impressed by the sheer size of the venue. Definitely something for everyone - also nice to have food & drink on site. Have been to a lot of outdoor flea markets in my area over the years & having all vendors contained under 1 climate-controlled roof was a big plus. Offerings varied from antiques/vintage to sci-fi to rugs to coins to clothes to baked goods - a little of everything! Was a good experience - would visit again when in the area! read more

One thing that has not mentioned anywhere in their website is the fact that they charge a $20 per person entry fee!!! That is the cash price. If you use your card, it's actually more than that! I've never seen a flea market that charges anything approaching that. We drove 45 minutes to get here and only then discovered the fee. They need to put that little detail in Big Bold Letters in the description. Shoppers beware! read more

I have gone to the flee almost every event they have had this summer/fall and it was been amazing. There are so many great home, clothing and accessory finds. The vendors are always helpful and friendly and love sharing their sourcing process. Will definitely be a returning customer in the new year and I can't wait to purchase more vintage goods! The DC Big Flea Antiques Event - Flea Markets Near Me - Timonium, Maryland

I went to the September 2023 BF. With the word "Flea" in the title I expected better deals. I don't know if the vendors are having to mark up inventory to compensate for renting a booth or if it's just typical vintage gouging but I was disappointed in both pricing and selection. Looking at vintage is always fun for me but there wasn't much of what I hunt for. Such as tons of jewelry since that's easy to transport. When I did find something I liked, the price or condition of the item stopped me. Faded blow molds for $80 and up? No thanks. What's sad is there are better deals to be found on eBay. This is not a "Flea". Consider changing the title of the venue or make admission free. read more

Every quarter I look forward to going to DC Big Flea. As an antique oddity and jewelry collector, I don't think there is a better place to find new treasures. The space is huge with so many vendors and fantastic variety! From clothing and jewelry, to kitchenware and coins - you can't go wrong at DC Flea. Hadn't been in years. Went to the November 2022 show. A few hundred dealers with a good mix of quality vintage and antiques - some newer collectibles and mediocre mixed in. A few dealers were very reasonable, most marked up for the show, some high-end retail prices. Lots of friendly talk with dealers and other collectors. Good to get out and do some 'old school' shopping in person but no great finds. Even the dealers said it's harder to find good stock and most really marked up the good pieces. And so it goes. A truly magical event that is not to be missed! My sister and I had an absolute blast at The Big Flea! The number of booths, the diversity of offerings and prices, and the loveliness of the sellers we met vastly exceeded our expectations. We found some real treasures at extremely reasonable prices and the sellers were amenable to working with us. We love poking through old things and asking questions about things with which we are not familiar and we got to do loads of it. No one was short with us or impatient, even when we didn't purchase anything. The vendors seemed to genuinely love sharing their expertise even if it did not result in a sale. The volume of things for sale may be a bit overwhelming to those with sensory processing conditions. It may be best for them to get some cocoa from the cafe and sit a few minutes to get acclimated. They can then move toward whichever section or item calls to them. I recommend bringing some snacks and a bottle of water, and planning to take breaks periodically to stave off exhaustion or overstimulation. It may even be best to come on two consecutive days so as not to overdue it or so you can see the full range of offerings. We were only able to get through a fraction of the booths in a period of 5 hours. The thing we found most challenging was finding the facility. Signage for the expo center is abysmal and if you have not been there before it is best to print out directions ahead of time. Even with GPS, we struggled to find it. We are looking much forward to going again when The Big Flea Extravaganza (which really should be the title) returns in January. read more

This is one of my favorite flea markets in the DC/MD/VA area. It has gotten smaller over the years. It was once multiple buildings, then two joined buildings, and since covid is now just one side of the building. Despite that, it is still a fairly large show. Many of the usual vendors I see there are not showing up as much because it is expensive for them. However, I suppose this brings in new opportunities for new vendors and new items. Now that that is out of the way, I love this place. I've been going with my family for years. I've found a number of things for my various collections, gifts for family, etc. Prices can be expensive, but of course haggling is expected. The whole show can be walked through in about 2 hours if you're looking over all the vendors. Then there's a great barbeque place right around the corner. If you're interested in antiques or flea markets I highly recommend checking it out! read more

As a collector, the items that interest me are becoming harder to find. Three years ago, friends were in town in the summer and it was HOT. I looked for cool indoor things to do and as a result, attended my first Big Flea. It was incredible. Someone must have sent the vendors my like list. I found so many wonderful pieces. My favorite was a large Imari bowl. It sits on my dining room table all year long. My house has plenty of Big Flea items. Although I was not able to go during Covid, the minute they reopened I was back. A friend and I never miss the four opening dates. If you are looking for something in particular and you cannot find at least one example of it at the Big Flea give up. It's probably not out there anywhere. Climate controlled; clean restrooms, great food and drinks. It has it all. GO! read more

Not a Flea Market, Not an Antique Show, Sort of expensive junk. Because the economy (for some people) sucks, and the traditional buyers are getting older, dealers are not buying new stock. This means there is a lot of (now) overpriced inventory. The new stuff just does not have quality. There are some really quality items, but massively overpriced. The admission used to be $8, which was acceptable. The new $10 admission leads to an expectation of at least a good show. There are still some good dealers, like the Venezuelan guy who sells clothing, but on the whole, it has become a pretty sad affair. You really need to check what you buy for hidden flaws. eBay is actually a better deal, and less risky. read more

I look forward to this event every time it comes to town. It's been great to see many familiar booths and faces again, and I am excited to see what treasures will be available in January. As with most critiques, there are a few little things that could be improved -- the bathroom cleanliness definitely fluctuates from clean to messy/wet/smelly. Let's just call this an antique show because after walking up and down the aisles, there was nothing really reminiscent of a true flea market (aka cheap and approachable), most things are beautifully refinished or hard to find antiques that sell in the upper 100s. "A flea market (or swap meet) is a type of bazaar that rents or provides space to people who want to sell or barter merchandise. Usually seasonal. Used goods, cheap items, collectibles, and antiques are commonly sold," (wikipedia.com, 2018). There was a wide variety of booths, many containing refinished antique furniture, old figurines, and even vintage clothing, but the prices were all quite high. There were a bunch of booths with framed artworks and most booths were highly organized collections, manned by folks that probably sell at events like this for a living. There didn't seem to be any "average" citizens out with their goods, just professional salesman and antique collectors. All in all, for the $10 it cost to get in the door, I can't say it was really worth it, with the amount of vendors in there, I'm still trying to figure out why it costs the consumer anything. Oh well, it's fun to peruse for a while, but unless you are going in with something particular in mind, you probably won't find anything remotely in your price range or for a great "deal". read more

I went to the DC Flea Market today in the hopes of scoring some great bargains. But I discovered that this event isn't really a flea market--it's more of an antique show. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. But once I got past that, I did enjoy walking around and looking at the antiques. Most items were really overpriced, but a few vendors had some unique items for some relatively decent prices. I did like that there were a couple operating food stands, and you could always leave and re-enter if you'd like to eat elsewhere. To sum: if you're looking for a flea market, don't waste your time. If you're looking for antiques, this may be for you. read more

This place rocks!! Place was filled with 100's of venders. There really was something for everyone. I found 2 pieces I couldn't live without and the vendor allowed negations. There were vendors that didn't allow that and for that I wasn't interested. One vendor even allowed 90 day layaway -- I bought a 1890 dresser from him. I'll get it May 1st. I will be back. Oh, cash is king here. They do have an atm but it charges $4.00 to use. read more

This is a true flea market and you can get almost anything that you want. Nice size show. I would give it a higher rating but I don't like the new stuff that is shown. The Big Flea Antiques Market that comes out frequently to Chantilly has REAL antiques and a wide variety to which you could easily spend the whole day looking. There is food on site and plenty of parking, though you may have to park far depending on the time you arrive (the earlier the better!). There are many unique and one of a kind finds! read more

Not even close to a Flea Market. Looking at $4000.00 corner cupboards and $6000 paintings is far, far from a flea market. We have bought and sold multiple houses full of antiques over the years, moving form one period house to another. Currently living in a circa 1770s house well stocked with antiques. Going to a a huge antique versus flea market is just not the same at all. First and last time we will be going to this show. If you want a flea market ust wait till the big shows in PA. read more

Fun to walk around, maybe not for $10 though. This is not a flea market at all, it's an antique show. Mostly small stuff, can't expect the vendors to haul large pieces to 2 day shows like this. The place is overwhelmingly filled with extremely overpriced vendors that want several hundred to several thousand dollars for items without paperwork/appraisal certificates. I feel like the market for rare items truly worth the prices these vendors want is NOT here. There are a handful of unique booths mixed in with repetitive vendors selling the same types of things for wildly different price points. There were very few vendors with reasonable prices. This antique show really only showcased how not rare and overpriced most items are. I came home and searched Etsy/eBay for several items I had my eye on and found the exact items for much much less. read more

This huge "flea market" runs on six or so weekends a year. The wares primarily seemed to consist of antique-type things to my eyes, and as such, the prices were generally much higher than I anticipated. There's a wide variety of wares across the booths, from figurines to furniture, which are a joy to wander around. It's much more of an antique show than a fleamarket. Things for five dollars... Things for 2000 and everything in between. A lot of good jewelry and furniture paintings silver crystal China... You name it and it's there. Dealers were friendly and the place was busy and fun. read more

Definitely more of an antique show than a flea market. Some reasonably priced collectibles, but lots of grossly overpriced items. Does anyone really need, or can afford, a ring for $45,000? A few true "flea market" vendors mixed in here and there, but overall, it's an antique show. Front desk not particularly helpful, but dealers as a whole are polite and accommodating. If you're an antique or collectible aficionado, this is right up your alley. But, if you're looking for a true "flea market", don't bother. And their online tickets offer no discounts. In fact, it will cost you $1 more to buy your tickets online. Also, bring cash or checks. Very few vendors accept credit or debit cards. read more
