The boutiques are so curated and cute, filled with the latest trends and unique brands and goods. The prices are very reasonable, especially at Match Made Stores, with some of the best and most competitive in Hampden. The lady working at Match Made kindly greeted my mom and I and gave us space, while still letting us know she was there to help. This always extremely impacts our shopping experience. The store is small but filled with good finds, and I can't wait to keep shopping here.

Hampden doesn't really have any other mens clothing stores (except thrift shops) so its a great addition to the neighborhood. Think of it like the sister...er..brother store to Double Dutch. Sixteen Tons also carries other man-gifts like wallets, cologne, belts, ties, hats, etc. The clothing can be quite pricey, depending on the item, but I did recently notice a sale bin! It's difficult for me to get my boyfriend to step into an actual store, or buy something vintage ("If its used, should it be cheaper?"), so its best that I come here alone and bring back what he doesn't want. I always end up asking a bunch of questions when I'm here- usually about sizing. When the owner is in the shop, he is warm and super friendly and helpful. There is another employee who always seems annoyed that I have the nerve to ask about an item; I really can't take that type of attitude. Customer service, man! I'm hesitant to dock Sixteen Tons a star because of this one guy's attitude. The owner has true vision and really caters to his clientele. He has helpful tips (more ties coming in next week!), good suggestions (how about a cool vintage belt for the guy who has everything?) and asks the right questions to really try to understand who you're buying for. He should pass these skills on to his employees!

Plus theres tons of other thrifts on the same street. I loved the clothes. Very trendy in an eclectic way; wide variety of 80's/90's stuff, some festival stuff, some totally out there/whimsical/gay pride/woodstock/retro vibe stuff. It was all in my ball park because I love wearing pieces that you don't see on everyone, so I liked just about everything there. The negative for me is the prices. Personally, a big reason I love thrifting is because I usually find them at a steal price at goodwill or in a cool thrift store off the beaten path, etc. which makes it such a cool experience. But when I go to a thrift store with higher prices it takes away from the experience for me a bit, I feel like I'm paying someone else to do the fun searching for me which can be okay too I guess. For example, I think a really cool T shirt with Tupac on it was $60 or something around there. There's just no chance I'd buy that. It's pretty on par price-wise with the other shops in the area though. I forgot to take pictures inside but I bought this cool shirt I'm wearing for $16.

This is usually the part of the city I head to when I want to stroll around and maybe do some vintage shopping/antiquing (don't judge me). Many who know me know that I have a weakness for 80s/90s and especially throwback clothing and accessories that remind me of my childhood. This is not something unique to me but I will say everyone who loves vintage will probably find something that they like or want here at SIX2SIX. My first time in I didn't get to spend as much time as I'd like but I plan on heading back soon when there are no errands to run and more time to spend drooling over their amazing selection.
