Renee, the manager, and a couple folks playing were so nice! Some comics and game stores aren't welcoming if you're not an expert, but this was the opposite of gatekeeping. They were all enthusiastic and welcoming. They have places to play, all sort of models and terrain, paint supplies, fiction, and miscellanea for 40K, Age of Sigmar, and Games Workshop LOTR. I was able to get Indian head nickels, complete coin sets in collector displays, Eisenhower silver dollars, Kennedy half-dollars, Susan B Anthony's, and so much more. I love to pass out $2 bills for special occasions and I usually do this at my local bank. The bank usually makes me order them ahead of time. Well, Mr Bob had a bunch of $2 bills in stock and we sat down together and picked out as many unwrinkled crispy bills as I needed. It was great!!! He even taught me that there is only one guy in a hat on the back of the Federal Reserve printed $2 bills (I have never noticed that and I am 53 yrs old)....so have fun researching that factoid!!! I prefer paperbacks so I was pleased to find a room full of them. The selections of science fiction, fantasy and mystery were good. I was surprised to find some men's adventure novels from the 1960s and 1970s. I bought a Sharyn McCrumb mystery novel Sick of Shadows. When I tried to leave the cat was near the exit. I'm writing this review to warn others in regards to a terrible policy. The owner has a bad habit of bait and switch pricing tactics on the pricing of games in his store. This is the third time in which I've brought a game to the counter and it has either scanned for a higher price than marked or he looked up the game and found one insane person asking a ridiculous price for it on eBay and now will not sell it for anything less. He then in turn via online chat with the employee will not honor or sell for the price as marked on the game. It's truly sad as being the only local game store in St. Augustine I shop here quite frequently. I'm surprised he would implement such policies which I'm 100% sure are frowned upon by the BBB & especially to loyal customers. I've shopped here for years and spent a significant amount of money in that time frame and its all really unfortunate. I take pride in helping my local small businesses and the employees have always been amazing but this bait and switch business practice is pretty disheartening. So if you ever see a price on a game in this store just know that may not actually be the price you pay because behind the scenes over an online chat he may increase the price at will or choose not to sell it to you at all. And to think before all this I purchased well over $100 in games that day too. ‍ So if you are ever wondering why there is no customer loyalty program it's most likely because the owner doesn't seem to value long term customers over profit & greed.
