I was referred here for a root canal by my primary dentist. When calling to schedule appointment, the registration representative said she ran my insurance and I would pay 40% per my plan. I agreed. After the root canal, I was sent a bill for almost $2,000, and was told that they had actually not run my insurance until the day after the procedure. After going back and forth with their billing department for 9 weeks, I was forced to pay the entire amount, with no offers of financial assistance plan. Well the last two reviews have simply been about the appointment system or some extension thereof, so I figured I would write a review to help counter the low score based on my experience. I had a cracked tooth a couple years ago that my previous dentist decided to put a crown on instead of root canal therapy. I was thrilled and elated that a root canal was not needed because of all the horror stories that usually accompany that kind of treatment. After the crown was put on, I experienced constant throbbing pain for the next month. They ended up having to adjust the crown and I still experienced constant aches for the next year and a half or so. Finally I had just about enough as I could no longer chew on the right side of my mouth, so I stomached the fact that I might have to get a root canal and made an appointment with a new dentist to get a "consultation" on whether a root canal was truly needed or not. The verdict after I left was... "You might need a root canal". Gee thanks I didn't realize that when I made the appointment. Anyway they gave me a referral to The Dental Specialists and sent me on my way with a bill for services rendered. After I got home, I researched the Dental Specialists and was kind of appalled honestly at all the terrible reviews this company has garnered. After noticing that they all seemed to be centered around appointments, and not about the procedure/dentists themselves, figured I'd give it a shot. I called them up, and scheduled an appointment, and received a confirmation a couple days before. No issues. The morning of the consultation, I showed up, got taken back promptly by an extremely sweet dental hygienist and within about 10 minutes Dr. Law was there in the room with me going over the tooth's history. 5 minutes later after some cold and pressure tests and such, deemed a root canal was needed. So...I laid back and accepted my fate and prepared for the worst. The dental hygienist gave me some ibuprofen before the procedure so that we could get a "head-start" on any discomfort that may arise. Here comes the Lidocaine... They offered me a pair of headphones and an adapter for my phone, which I promptly took, and told me to relax sit back and listen to some music and if they needed anything at all I could just raise my arm, and if they needed me they would tap me on the shoulder. I suppose people get kinda grossed out over the sounds made during this kind of procedure, so I put on some Boston's "More than A Feeling" I closed my eyes, and i slipped away. :) You probably won't believe this but I can honestly say that I experienced 0 discomfort during the entire procedure. I mean I knew they were working on the tooth and going inside the tooth because Dr. Law went through what the procedure entailed, but I couldn't feel anything. About 45 minutes later, they were all done and I was ready to get going. Dr. Law walked me out to the receptionist office to discuss my post-treatment plan. 600 mg of Ibuprofen every 6 hours was the recommendation so I shook his hand, told him job well done, and walked out. 6 Hours later I took 600 mg of Ibuprofen...not because I felt an extreme amount of discomfort, but simply because I expected it. Needless to say, I haven't taken any more pain pills for the tooth since the procedure after that initial dose. I can only credit this to the fact that Dr. Law did such an amazing job and turned this whole ordeal into a non-event. I can say that I am now able to chew on the right side of my mouth with absolutely no problem and all I'm doing now is kicking myself for waiting so long to get it done. Thanks Dr. Law for the amazing job and experience. Hopefully I never have to see you again for this kind of procedure, but should I have to, I know who I will be seeing. read more

There office staff was rude from the consultation to the day of wisdoms being pulled out- they were more worried about how they were going to receive their money aka about $1100.00, and received another bill around $150.00 a month later stating it was 30 days behind, but I just received the bill! The consultation was told (as the mom) was not allowed to go in, the pt. was concerned of how the doctor was acting, asking herself is he on medication himself? Day of surgery, (under 30 mins to pull 4 impacted wisdoms), tossed her out so quickly- not even fully awake and not enough supplies to help, but quick to give addictive drugs that were not necessary... I am truly saddened that this place was our only choice per insurance. read more

I had a root canal with Dr. Law. The procedure went smoothly and Dr. Law is very kind and polite. I've had a root canal and have always received antibiotics for the procedure, but he said they weren't needed. The next day I had TONS of pain and facial swelling and I called the office. I was put on azithromycin, which I consider a super weak antibiotic and not the right choice for an anerobic infection, but I went with it. They said I had to see if worked in 24 hours. The next day it was much worse and my eye started swelling. I spoke to Dr. Law on the phone and he said to call back if my eye was swollen almost shut, but just see if the medication will work. I decided to go to the hospital and was admitted at Regions Hospital for 3 days. I understand the new protocols with antibiotics, but at some point a doctor needs to listen to their patient and prescribe Keflex. I returned to Dr. Law and his assistant gave me a lecture about how dangerous antibiotics are. Overall, this was not a good experience. read more

Dr Law and his staff were wonderful!! I was very anxious to have my first root canal procedure and his assistant was so very sweet, explained everything to me, always made sure I was doing ok and kept me updated on what was going on and Dr Law also did, i appreciated that. I was also able to listen to my headphones during the procedure. I didn't have any pain at all and the next day I still have no pain. The front desk staff were so helpful and very sweet, explained everything to me so I knew what I needed to pay and what my insurance would cover. I can't say enough nice things about this place, highly recommend them. read more

My root canal treatment by Dr. Law was a total breeze! Completely painless. Despite my trepidation around having my first root canal, he and Dawn, who assists him, are the consummate professionals and made it astonishingly easy. Their office is quite far off my beaten path, however a trusted friend (also a dental specialist) described Dr. Law as "the very best." He and Dawn are caring, attentive, personable, and HIGHLY skilled. Superb even. No matter how far I might have to drive, I'll never go anywhere else for a root canal or other endodontic procedure. I ignored the bad reviews that this ENTIRE company receives at almost all of their locations, and I'm telling you not to ignore it, THEY'RE TERRIBLE!!!! DONT GO HERE!!!!! This is not about their periodontics services specifically, but more about how they treat people, and how they NEVER answer the phone!!!! My bad experience started when I had been calling them since the Friday before my appointment on Wednesday the following week, with no answer. I left message after message, with no call back! Finally the night before, I was forced to call one of the doctors on an "after hours emergency" basis becuase I was desperate, and finally got ahold of her. The next day I overslept (of course, just my luck!!!) I called and actually got a hold of someone who said if I could be there in 20 minutes, they could still see me. So I break the sound barrier to make it, GPS says I'll still be a little late, so I call to ask if I'll be able to be seen, and guess what? NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE!!! Shocker!!!!! But luckily I make it only 7 minutes late, but there's a construction barrier that won't let me in their parking lot, so I have to call again, and they actually answer! The receptionist is like "Oh right, hahaha, sorry I forgot to mention that" (-_-) unbelievable. So I lose 5 minutes driving around trying to find a way to get in, and now I'm 15 minutes late arriving. Im filing out paperwork when Bobby Joe the receptionist says because I was 15 minutes late they can't see me (I live 30 minutes away mind you). So I tell them that's why I tried CALLING when I thought I was going to be late, and they didn't answer!!! Then she throws it in my face that I was Supposed to be there st 11:30 .... ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?!?!?!?!? Trying to guilt trip me?!?!?!?! I was not having that, so I said "Yeah, shit happens, that's life, it was an accident" and I didn't even get to bring up the fact that she failed to mention that the entrance to their parking lock was BLOCKED OFF before the doctor came out and say "We also don't allow swearing here"! Who are you, my mother?? So I said "Wow, seriously?!?" and I flipped the clipboard on their desk, took my ID and said, "Maybe you should answer your damn phones next time" and I left! read more

The dental work, a root canal,, was fine. My issue with the office. i asked them 3 times to confirm with my insurance company if i had coverage I for the work i had scheduled for with them. Each time they said yes, including on the day of service. The issue was i was over my deductible. Now i was not even aware there was a deductible, and part of the reason i requested confirmation of coverage was to ensure i had no issues. The bottom line is i ended up owing them over a thousand dollars for just 50 minuets of work. if i had known, i could have waited 4 weeks and had all the work covered. In addition i did request a phone call from the office to discuss this, and no one ever called me back. This is SLOPPY. I know it is my responsibility to know about deductibles, but i was trying to cover the unknowns with there help. That was my mistake. read more

Was not to impressed with the appointment system. No email or text confirming your appointment. I came in to my appointment at the time specified by the receptionist that I talked to on the phone and it was actually scheduled for a different day. Not to happy about wasting my time driving out there just to have to do it another time. read more
