COLUMBIA HIEGHTS DENTISTRY! I went there on February 26th 2026 to see about dentures/implants. They had me beck March 10th to consult with a surgeon. He said he wanted to consult with my dentist there and come up with a plan. Two and a half weeks went by so I called to make sure I wasn't lost in the mix. A polite lady said that they had been on vacation and that she would leave a note for them to contact me asap. 6 weeks went by, nothing. Screw them. I went to NUVIA in Roseville and got it done. I believe ethics are extremely important when partnering with a healthcare provider. Unfortunately, I have to question this after what happened to me. Reading the reviews, I see this is a pattern for this dental practice. I came in as a new patient for a routine cleaning since I've just moved to the area. I was really excited to establish care here since it's close to me. I also was happy to have a lady doctor. My insurance is kicking in on February 1 so I wasn't open to any extra services quite yet. I just wanted to establish care, get a good exam and above all, a cleaning! I had made my insurance situation clear when I made the appointment and again with the assisting staff. Also, I didn't actually need more X-rays as I have them from my previous dentist, but they insisted. After all that, the dentist gave me a hard sell on 4 quadrant deep cleaning and a new crown (which I did need), but not on that day ... I didn't want to pay out of pocket given my insurance would be kicking in soon. My dentist was visibly upset that I didn't sign the expensive out-of-pocket treatment plan on the spot. She then spent maybe 5 minutes cleaning my teeth. Terrible vibe and a waste of time as I have to now schedule an actual cleaning somewhere else. What a disappointment. I think the dentists must have a sales quota. I will be reporting them to the BBB, the city and various licensing associations. read more

I went in as a new patient. Is that a chipped tooth? I didn't know if they could just fill it or if I needed a root canal and a crown which I know I've had several so that's what they said. I had to have done. They were great they prep for the root canal and then made by other appointments. Told him I have insurance, but I can't afford the rest upfront. They have a in office payment plan that does not have interest and is not bad. Yes it was expensive but root canals and crowns are very expensive and I just had to put a small amount down. I've been to many dentist in the area and have bad experiences. I highly recommend them. read more

I write this with disappointment. I feel their practices are predatory. I was quoted 7k for work I didn't need for after a tooth removal . They said I needed two root canals on top of a bridge. Went to another clinic for second opinion and said do not need this work. As a single mother, I find it criminal that dental work is an expensive luxury and most can afford. I pray this changes and that people start helping people not taken advantage of people. The only good things they do is 12 month in house payment plan. So I will give them that. read more

They do cleaning, and dental exams. They can do extractions but I have only experienced cleaning and exams. This is a pretty good office and clean. The staff are wonderful. Not a lot of wait time. Good care and good quality. read more

*UPDATE* I got a second opinion from All Smiles in Hamel and just as I thought my gums were fine and I didn't need this extensive payment plan and cleaning. Also, as Columbia Heights Dentistry gave me a 5 minute terrible cleaning after almost not doing it at all after 2 hours, when I went to All Smiles Dental in Hamel they gave me excellent service along with a proper cleaning and great advice and kind service. BEWARE THIS PLACE IS A SCAM AND ARE TERRIBLE!!!!! These are your teeth!!!! Go somewhere else!!!!! read more

I had to have 2 emergency root canals due to not having proper care in Florida. I have excellent dental health and these infections were a result of my capped molars from grinding not being placed properly. I was so nervous. I have never needed dental work in the past, not even a filling for a cavity! This office was absolutely wonderful. The staff is amazing and so kind. My root canals went smoothly and in less than a week I am chewing completely normally with no NSAIDS at all. I barely had any pain and I am so grateful for such excellent care and service. It is rare these days! I only wish I had an office like this near my home in Florida. read more

My company switched dental insurance so I came to this clinic. My first visit I was told I had a tooth that needed a crown right away. Being someone who goes to the dentist twice a year I found it unlikely that my previous dentist of years did not even note an issue. Went back 6 months later for cleaning. I was told it wasn't needed right away to crown but I should go see an orthodontist. Because now for symmetry he found that we could find an issue enough to justify crowning 6 teeth for $8,000. Being completely taken back by this I left. I called back 8/14 and asked to just tell me what teeth actually needed repair and that I was not going to see an orthodontist. The receptionist told me she would get back to me. Still have heard nothing back perhaps because the work they suggested was unnecessary. Luckily my company went back to HP dental and I got in right away with my dentist. Come to find out I don't need any crowns and that there is a new medication that can correct the two issues I have for under $300. This company goes to extremes versus trying to save your teeth. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere for a second opinion before committing the money and losing your teeth to unnecessary procedures. read more

I needed a new dentist that would take my Met life insurance. The office is well equipped but the staff are trained to upsell you every step of the way. This happened twice, once with a needed crown, second time when they told me I had gum disease and needed $1000 + laser treatment with some special chemicals. They pull a high tech screen right over to the dental chair to show you their treatment plan, but only reveals the highest cost choice. I had to ask both times to see the less expensive treatment, for which my insurance would pay. The dentist had an argument with the office manager right in front of me about having my teeth cleaned when she had already sold me on coming back for and paying for "root planing". When my new insurance plan would pay for me to go back to health partners, I did and they said I had some gum recession but nothing unusual for my age. They disagreed about gum disease and said this was likely an attempt to classify me as a periodontal patient so they could charge the insurance company more for any future cleanings. Avoid this place. High pressure sales. Additional cost to you and your insurance plan. read more

Dr Kulenkamp listened to my concerns and went through and explained in great detail my treatment plan. She went over every question that I had. These people are delusional. I go in for a cracked molar. They did x-rays (took 5 minutes) sat me in a dental chair as I waited for the Dentist. She arrives, does a 5 minute exam, decides I need a specialist, goes away and leaves me in this room. Finally I get up and go to the front where I'm told I need to pay 119 dollars. On the door and windows, it says a "full exam" is 59 dollars including x-rays, but since I got the "limited exam, it's double the price. And oh by the way, the procedure I needed came to $12,000. Absolutely delusional human beings work here. Thanks for agreeing to the 59 after I mentioned it...I guess doing the right thing from the beginning escapes these people. read more

Went here for a root canal and went home five hours later with a lip injury. They very obviously drilled into my lip when I was still numb and called it a "little cut." The assistant was in and out of the room the entire time and the dentist was clearly in a hurry, reaching over me for tools. They put gauze on the cut and left me in the room alone. At one point I was walking around the hallway with blood pouring from my lip, all over the floor and my clothes, looking for someone to take care of it. My appointment was at noon and I left after 5pm with a prescription for ibuprofen. I drove home 15 minutes and starting bleeding as soon as I walked through the door. This continued to happen until 10pm but I didn't want to go to urgent care since I don't have insurance. This was my one day off of work for the week and I had to go into urgent care (and miss work) the next day. I was told it looked infected already and was given antibiotics. I'm now left with more bills than before. Clearly Columbia heights dentistry values money over proper care. I understand mistakes may happen but being treated poorly as well is completely incomprehensible. Now I understand why people have a fear of the dentist. Have attempted to contact them through phone, and email, with no response. They'll respond to my public reviews and pretend to care though! read more

Worst experience I've ever had!! Dr. K gave me dirty glasses, was very impersonable and sounded like a recording. She gave me a Novacane shot that took me to the roof and was going to give me 3 more on the bottom of my mouth just like it. No compassion at all. I've had Novacane before many times in those same areas and this was the worst!! She didn't even offer gas to help me relax. I asked her why and she said I didn't state anything in my paperwork. WHAT???? I've never had problems with Novacane before like this to request gas. I made it perfectly CLEAR how much pain I had and asked for possible alternatives. Nothing was given. During her visit the "Muslim" dentist was continually flirting heavily throughout her entire visit. His behavior was very unprofessional, rude and disrespectful. After many, many years of neglect, I was in a position where I could no longer ignore my dental health. When I came in to see Dr. M and the staff at CHD I immediately had the feeling that their only concern was to get me on a path to good dental health without judgement. The whole experience has given me a much better outlook, and I would describe the staff at CHD as professional and compassionate. Am I 48 year old woman who has neglected my dental needs for at least 20 years. Mainly due to dental fear, I stopped going unless there was an emergency. With another emergency I found Columbia Heights Dentistry, scared and almost talking myself out of going. That would have been a HUGE mistake. The entire staff was patient, understanding in a relaxing atmosphere . Dr. Nazarian was the best! She helped me to relax. She took the time to explained why I was having pain. Three words to describe this dental office: competent, friendly, and thorough. My wife and I went in for a dental checkup and cleaning for the first time at this particular dental office. They were very efficient handling both of our insurances. My wife's is a typical Delta Dental plan, while mine is Delta Dental through a VA program, which other dental offices seem to have trouble navigating. This office had no such trouble and it all went smoothly. Dr. Nazarian was able to completely and thoroughly explain what treatment both of us would need in very exact and clear terms. Nadia was able to clearly shows exactly how our respective insurances would work for these treatments. We then had exactly the information we needed to make decisions as to when we would get these things taken care of. We had our teeth cleaned that day and will have the rest of the work done when our insurance allows it. The cleaning was the most thorough I have yet experienced. Save yourself time and money and do not go here. Long story short, the dentist was a researcher for a long time and just recently started practicing 2 years ago. Hardly any experience. I had a tooth that needed extraction and she misdiagnosed me and did a crown instead. $1000 crown vs a $200 extraction. After I had the crown and was still experiencing pain, I went to another dentist for a second opinion and I was told the tooth was not savable and the only option would be to do an extraction. Simply put, this dentist cares only about creating new business, and not the patients well being. read more

This is a new office in Columbia Heights. They did not show up on my Delta Dental of MN provider page but, after emailing them, I received a prompt response that my plan was accepted there, so I made an appointment. I received a reminder 3 days or so before hand, via email, that actually asked me to confirm. When I showed up, I was the only patient there at 5:30 on a Wednesday afternoon, which allowed pretty much for uninterrupted personal care. After working with the team, I am confident that, even in a crowded office, the care would be equally personal and high quality. I was apprehensive of going to the dentist, as most people are. My teeth are not in great shape, but it is important to me that I get them fixed and improve my health overall. The care team seemed genuinely concerned and didn't make me feel bad for not flossing as much as I should be. They gave me options, made it affordable, and made sure I left the office having made some progress that day. If you are looking for a new dentist or to start a care program, I would recommend checking this place out. I felt comfortable right away all the way through my visit. read more
