Very nice staff. I met Dr. Janice Dworkin and she was very polite. I saw her for a rash and she prescribed medicine for me. She determined my trash was due to allergies. I asked her if we could do patch testing and I could go to an Allergist. She indicated she could do the testing there. I asked her when could we begin the testing to which she indicated after two weeks if my rash didn't clear up. Then we'll do the testing. I was surprised because I thought shouldn't we get to the root cause? Instead I felt like we just put a bandaid over the problem. The topical cream did make my rash go away though. read more

I visited the W Long Branch office under the care of the PA. I was not offered to see the physician. . . only the assistant. While she was very nice, she popped a cyst I have had for more than 15 years during her exam. I reached out twice b/c the prescription was taking so long. By Friday I was in so much pain I could barely move. I called and was prescribed an antibiotic without any option to be seen. A full week later, still in pain, I called again and was told I should go to the ER. . . .which I did. My main reason for seeing a dermatologist was for a totally unrelated rash. A month later I am still dealing with the aftermath of something specifically caused by the PA. I understand that these things happen and I wouldn't be so bothered EXCEPT Cindy has NOT ONCE gotten on the phone when I have called. Every single time she has had someone else call me back. Even when recommending I go to the ER! Obviously, I'm not going back. I'm so disappointed in the lack of accountability or care for the mistake they made. The positive is that the front desk and the people who have called me have been very kind. read more

Dr. Sivanesan was recommended to me by my doctor, however , it was one of my worst experiences with any doctor's office ever.  Apparently the Dr. never submitted the script to my specialty pharmacy and after chasing them repeatedly for three months I finally received my medication. This was after me making numerous calls to all of my providers and then Dr. Sivanesan's office still sent the script to the wrong specialty pharmacy. It was almost laughable how pathetic their incompetence was. Also, during my full body scan they said all was fine but I mentioned that there was something on my back that was bothering me and they replied "oh I missed that". Not reassuring at all!! I had a refill for my medication but since it crossed over the calendar year end my specialty pharmacy requested a prior authorization (PA) from Dr. Sivanesan's office. I called their office once again asking why the PA has not been sent yet and their response was that Dr. Sivanesan requested I come in for a visit prior to them sending a PA to the pharmacy. This is a refill so why would they need to see me other than to bilk me out of a co-pay especially when they get the co-pay when I come in for them to apply the medication anyway?! Absolutely disgusting behavior during these difficult times we all find ourselves in. I will never use that office again! read more

Worst experience EVER !!!!!! I have suffered from skin issues all my life and I have seen many dermatologist in the past but I have to admit this was the worst experience I have ever had with any dr. He refused to listen to anything I said, never even looked at my skin, walked in the room and without even talking to me or examining me gave me 6 prescriptions. When I told him that I have used that in the past and it didn't work and my current situation is different (hives, itchy skin, more of an allergic reaction) he gave me an additional 4 prescriptions for a total of 10 scripts!!!! He walked in with 6 script after 1 min gave me another 4 without an exams AND A BILL!!!! That is NOT A DR., It is a ignorant, not caring, money hungry employee looking to simply increase his income!!!! read more

Wait times are incredibly long which can be annoying when you have a scheduled appointment and there is no regard for your time. Then finally when you meet the doctor, she comes in for a very quick consultation and moves on to the next patient leaving you dazed. If you call back because you forgot to ask something, you're told to make another appointment. Of the little time I was with the doctor, her primary focus was to sell costly products not covered by insurance. Unprofessional and disappointing. read more

Stay away!!!! This place is terrible. They will pressure you into buying/doing all kinds of things you don't need. I have a few things to say about this practice (business). First, do not inquire about any of the treatments they advertise in the waiting room. Out of curiosity, I asked once and was hit with a consultation bill for over $100. After months of back and forth, they subsequently removed the charge when I threatened to call my insurance company. Next issue is they bounce you between doctors so there's no continuity of treatment. I waited patiently for weeks to secure an appt with enough time to remove a growth on my back and the new doctor (third one in a year) I saw refused to remove it. She insisted it could only be sliced off for testing and that I should book another Appt if it grows back. Last but not least, my appt was supposed to include a follow-up for the rosacea medicine I was prescribed by the last doc. This wasn't even discussed... the doctor couldn't escape the treatment room fast enough. It's like that every time I go. No more. I should've gone to The Dermatology Group from the beginning. This place is not a doctor's office that treats patients... it's a business that churns out customers. read more

Dr. Sivanesan is great doctor however the rest of the staff is unprofessional. Given the virtual appointment world I figured everything and everyone would be on time, however I was wrong. 20 minutes before my virtual appointment they called me to confirm my contact info and time of my appointment, good to go. However they did not call me until 20 minutes after my appointment time, which is very inconvenient because I also work from home and have my own job to do. (Last summer I also had a virtual appointment which they were 40 minutes late for). After the 20 minute wait I get one of the assistants on the line and tell her what I need, I have had the same treatment for over a year now because my face only breaks out periodically (working out, sunburn, etc) so I know what has worked in the past. Fast forward a few days later I go to my pharmacy to get my prescription and they gave me some new stuff that I never agreed on, even my pharmacist was confused at what came in. They called me back to tell me that they ordered what I requested, which clearly wasnt the case and when I requested the order was resent they hung up on me! Later in the day I called my pharmacy to check and see if they received the order they claimed they called in, and they never placed the order! read more

Head on over if you'd like to spend an hour in their waiting room. Overbooking seems to be par for the course. Considering that they send you numerous text messages, email and phone calls with appointment remainders, you'd think that they'd value your time. read more

I have recently switched dermatologist office to The Dermatology Group in Freehold and I have to say I've been very pleased with their office. I have used Dr Dworkin and Cynthia Gelnaw P.A. and have found both of them very pleasant to deal with. The doctors there are very caring and informative in treating my whole family's dermatological needs. I also love that when it is an emergency, they were able to fit us in right away. All in all, I'm very happy I've made the switch to their office. read more

Dr. Sivanesan was recommended to me by a co-worker. I had to wait two months for an appointment to have a couple of things checked out. The woman who made the appointment for me was very rude. The office is difficult to find and behind a hospital. The staff was less rude in person but I would not say it was a friendly atmosphere. I waited 45 minutes to be seen, and Dr. Sivanesan spent a total of five minutes with me. She rattled off a bunch of information and the names of a bunch of medications. I did not ask for clarification because I thought I would just be able to look at the prescriptions and research a little about the medications online. Nope. I was handed a card and told some company would call me to tell me the amount I owe on the prescriptions and they would be delivered to my door tomorrow. About an hour later, the company called and started rattling off the names of the medications and how much money I had to pay. At my request, someone from the company is going to email me a list of the medications and the pricing. Now I'm home with no medications and I'm just confused. I think this office is trying to make getting medications convenient for their patients, but the way this was handled just made me feel dumb. I gave Dr. Sivanesan a try but will be sticking with my regular dermatologist going forward. read more

i went with my friend for her to get her check up and as i was waiting i witnessed how this girl that worked there was being treated really unfair by the whole office. it rubbed me the wrong way. they also didn't let get out of the room to exit and made her go out from the back as she left, my friend went to get her annual check up. i went to go check on the front desk girl who actually quit and spilled the tea. this place is so unorganized and this place has high complaints related to prescriptions not being sent or even the scam of the pharmacy they try and provide. the company will keep sending you scripts and keep billing you. on top of that they make people come back for ridiculous "check ups" for a refill to scam you into the office so they can get more patients. they also always have a new girl every week in the office my friend says. read more

Good doctor, intolerable waits. Dr. Sivanesan is very nice, personable and competent. The office staff are friendly. Her assistants and whomever who follow her around are nice as well. The waits, however, are horrendous. I have been here four or five times and every time but once, I could have shown up half an hour after my appointment and not missed anything. You sit, and sit, and sit. The last time, it took me a full forty minutes from my appointment time to see someone, who was surprisingly not Dr. Sivanesan, but a physician's assistant. What happened in between? I sat in the waiting room and was subjected to this awful piped-in drug company advertising television, which followed me into the examination room, where I sat for another ten minutes. What happened during these forty minutes? Nothing. I had no paperwork to fill out. I didn't meet with anyone. No one took information. No one examined me. I paid my copay, sat, was escorted to the exam room, and sat some more. That's it. Forty minutes. Now, were this my first time, I would be more forgiving - perhaps there was something going on, whether it's a staff call out, some kind of crisis, or whatever. But again, this is the norm. Waiting, waiting, waiting, for no discernible reason. Still, I do appreciate that this is a small practice and not one of the kinds of dermatology offices I have visited before, full of a rotating cast of fresh on the job doctors, where you feel like a carcass on a hook, going down the line as fast as possible, so they can get to the next one. read more

Horrible. Here on a Saturday for a procedure. They overbook and make you wait for hours.

Stay away! Thought this might be a convenient place to go to (since its located right behind the hospital), but they are TERRIBLE. Be prepared they will try to "sell" you procedures. Never had that happen before in a legitimate doctor's office. I have reached out to them NUMEROUS times regarding an issue and there is literally no follow up. They just hope you go away and then they'll look for a new patient they can victimize. read more

Beware of Dr Sivanesan and the Dermatology Clinic! While I like Dr. Sivanesan as a doctor, and have been seen by her several times, their business practices are questionable at best. I arrived for my appointment, which they had confirmed via a phone call and text message, to be told that Dr Sivanesan no longer accepted my insurance. You would think they would have mentioned that when they confirmed my appointment! They offered to reschedule me with another doctor in the practice. When I explained that I had taken time off from work and couldn't do that, they told me that Dr. Sivanesan would see me if I paid $100. I explained that I was willing to pay $40, which is my copay, and they refused to see me. So unless you're willing to pay whatever they demand when your arrive for your appointment, look elsewhere for a dermatologist! read more

The only positive thing about this freehold practice, is that Dr Dworkin and Dr Severensen and staff are very nice to deal with. That is the ONLY positive aspects. As others have apparently written in about as well, the WAIT is ALWAYS HORRIBLE, THEY DOUBLE BOOK, I have waited for few times way over an hour, to hour and half, then finally get called in, then waiting another 10-20 min for the doctor to consult with me. I am NOT pleased at this time, and I will continue to do extensive research into other practices in the area that hopefully are more accomodating, and caring about having their patients sit around and wait for extended periods of time. years ago another freehold practice, constantly had used gloves, and injections laying around in over filled trash bins in the exam rooms!! Plus, they put my folder in the wrong place, and completely forgot I was there!! If I did not walk over to the desk, they would have not called me, PLUS, the doctor never aplogized!!! What is going on lately ? Too many double bookings, guess more money to be made obiviously, Not a good review one bit .Will keep on searching. read more

A complete disaster. The front desk staff needs to be trained in basic manners. They are possibly the rudest people with whom I have dealt. If the receptionist is on the phone or doing something at her desk, she makes no effort to acknowledge a patients presence. The waiting time can be unrealistic as they knowingly overbook. They demand you arrive 15 minutes early for paper work and will turn patients away if they arrive with less than 15 minutes. The clinic does not bill patients; instead they ask for payment on the spot of an amount they indicate is required. However in my experience they do not accurately calculate the insurance payment due them but rather over estimate and so the patient will overpay and then have to fight with the staff to get a refund due them. I was charged double the amount my insurance indicated I was to pay and it took numerous phone calls and debates to obtain a refund. A system that only benefits the Clinic! Additionally this is more of a business rather than a physicians office Most of the communications I receive from them are to encourage cosmetic procedures and purchases. read more
