Yep, another five star review for American Windows…read more We received three estimates for replacing three windows, a French door and a picture window. American Window undercut the estimates of the other two vendors by a substantial margin. We also really liked they only asked for a modest down payment. Jay was our sales contact at American Windows and he was absolutely great. He has an engaging personality, and kept all his commitments to us. We appreciated that when installation day came, he swung by to ensure all was going well. Oh, how did the installation go? It was fantastic. Not only did the windows and door come earlier than promised, the American Windows crew came on time and worked quickly and professionally. We were amazed that the whole job only took 4 1/2 hours to complete. The windows and door materials are high quality and we are very satisfied with the results.

We decided to drive an hour out to their showroom without calling first. Even though they weren't open yet and are by-appointment-only, Phil greeted us without hesitation. It turned out they couldn't take on our small window sill repair since they didn't install the original window, but Phil helped us anyway! He gave us repair ideas, explained potential causes, pointed us toward the right tools, and gave us contacts who could help. To top it off, his cuddly dog Wilson kept us company, and Phil even recommended a local spot for lunch since he knew we had a long drive. We are completely speechless at his kindness and support, despite not even being paying customers. Based on this first impression, we would work with Phil any day. The world needs more people like him!

My experience with Berkeley Glass was incredibly frustrating from start to finish…read more The initial consultation went well, and I was told they could install a frameless shower. Later, I was informed that a true frameless enclosure wouldn't work because the holes from the previous shower would be visible, so I had to go with a more expensive framed option instead. The special-order enclosure arrived fairly quickly, but that's where the problems really began. The first installation appointment ended with the installers discovering something was wrong with the enclosure, so it had to be reordered. I had already taken a day off work. The second installation appointment wasn't any better. One of the parts had been pre-cut incorrectly at the factory, so yet another part had to be reordered, requiring me to take another day off work. When they finally returned and completed the installation, I noticed a very obvious dent in the enclosure after they left. I called immediately because I wasn't happy with the quality of the installation. They eventually replaced the damaged part, but referred to it as being replaced under "warranty." Warranty? It was installed with the dent in the first place. That wasn't a warranty issue--it was correcting an installation problem that should have never happened. After everything was finally finished, I paid my invoice in full. I even have the receipt showing a $0.00 balance owed. Weeks later, I received a phone call claiming I still owed more money. After everything I had already dealt with, that was the final straw. Between the repeated ordering mistakes, multiple installation appointments, lost wages from taking several days off work, poor quality control, and then being asked for more money after paying in full, this was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had. I cannot recommend Berkeley Glass based on my experience.

Dustin, our primary installer, was absolutely wonderful. He and his team of one finished the job timely and beautifully. We will be contacting them again in the near future for additional work.

The receiptionist said they could not quote a price without seeing my house and assured me they work with my home insurance company if the cause of the flood was covered by my policy. (My wife has since died) I was reluctant to clean it up myself, so on recommendation, I called Master dry. I was ASSURED they could take care of it by the person I spoke to on the phone. At the appointed time, an unkempt, utterly disinterested individual sauntered into the house, BRIEFLY glanced at the carpet and said all HE could do would be to cut a piece out of the carpet. If this were so, why wasn't I TOLD that when I made the call to their office? I SHOULD have sent him away right then, but was still upset about the incident. This "expert" proceeded to cut a huge piece out of the carpet down to the subflooring, which took, MAYBE five minutes. What the Hell, I could have done THAT, myself. For this "professional service", I was immediately presented with a bill for $150. Adding insult to injury, after he left I found several small blood spots on the white vinyl closet door nest to the gaping chasm he'd just created in the floor. So, I wiped those off MYSELF, with a disinfectant wipe. God knows what Master dry would have charged me to completely destroy the closet. I don't know how these crooks sleep at night, taking advantage of people like that. You'd be better off getting some day laborers from in front of Home Depot. It'll be cheaper, and they'll actually DO the job. BOO BOO BOO!!!
