I love this place. I only just started to get into American comics this year and checked out because it's the closest shop to me. Staff is super friendly and helpful, very inviting for new readers, offers reserving issues and such for regulars. A bit on the smaller side, but pretty dense. You're almost guaranteed to find something you're interested in, and even if you're trying to track down something specific they have a pretty expansive back issue selection. If you have even a mild interest in the medium and live in the area I can't recommend it enough. Thanks for helping keep it alive. read more

This place is so cool. I am a collector of comics, super hero collectibles, Sideshow statues and 1/6 figures, action figures and all things Batman. This place always has something new and inter sting every week we go. I take my two boys there and they love to look at the comics, toys, and collectibles. They always have a kid friendly movie playing and their selection of comics is awesome. They also have a party room for rent that would be perfect for a kids birthday party. Check it out! read more

They're always helpful when looking for any specific comics. They also don't upcharge for variant covers like some shops.

The Destination is a nice, well-lit, girl-nerd friendly comic and collectible-toy shop. It's hidden away, off to the far-left side of a shopping center (that is across from Mall St. Matthews) on the opposite end of said shopping center from Best Buy. There is great amount of merch including the Funko Pop Series, Titan's Doctor Who Mini Figs, Funko Batman Mystery Minis (and while we're at it many other blind box figures as well), A wall of the most current DC and Marvel comics, several shelves of newer trades (as the store is newer there doesn't seem to be any older back stock), several table top and board games in the back room (where they also hold games), and comic ART which is featured on a whole wall for purchase! My friend and I first visited the store after having seen their Doctor Who selection on their Facebook page. Being female and into comics, we often experience leers and even down-right disrespect in the comic community. There was none of this. The owner and his employee were both super nice and we talked to them for a long time. Also, there is an adorable dog, with his own Spiderman chair. His name is Andy. We came back less than a week after our first visit, for a post-Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special shopping trip, and a different employee even made a call to see if the new Series 3 Who Titan figures would be coming back to the store from a party within a do-able amount of time for us to wait. We bought several and signed up our other two girl friends for their Spot On card promotion, which after multiple visits allows you to earn "spots" equalling a free comic book, mini-fig, and other goodies! Lots of good choices for figurines. Prices seem a bit high compared to other stores I've been to, but they have good variety and not a ton of the exact same figure. Store is bright, clean, and pleasant to be in. Apparently they are dog friendly as well, as I've been there a few times and there were cute dogs meandering about. My favorite part is the featured artist wall. They always have great artwork available for sale. read more

This store is by far my favorite comic and collectible store in Louisville. The staff is extremely friendly and engaging, always welcoming everyone into the store. They are more than happy to help you track down a comic series you enjoy. Their store is always clean and organized. They're even expanding their selection of board games. Comics, NECA figurines, pop figures, and more! And they offer a service to pull issues for you if you have them make a folder and (free) account for you. They participate in a lot of local events and it's always great to see them out in the community. read more

As an avid Hot Toys and NECA collector, I love stopping here on my way from Nashville to Cincinnati. They have a very neat and clean store, with lots of selection. I've found multiple figures at great prices here that are typically twice the price online. They have a wall dedicated to local artists that is awesome, and a case of Hot Toys that showcases some of the finer things in collecting. The sale section in the back has had some terrific deals that made me wish I'd held out paying full price on some items. I have to say this is the cleanest comic/collectibles store I've ever been in, and they have a great selection. If I lived nearby, this would be an even more frequent stop for me. The staff here is always very polite and attentive to customers, and parking is very easy. read more

We stop in often to buy Force of Will card packs.staff is always very welcoming, polite and knowledgable, will chat us up about purchases or even purchase some packs of their own to open with us. Seems like they host and participate in a large variety of events and games here -- and don't mind expanding that list either. Dropped in on an event by accident and learned a trick or two. They've got my Funkos, they've got my Marvel Omnibuses and they've got a cool dog. I've been diving in and out of Louisville comic shops since gas stations and grocery stores actually kept them in stock. While my comics now come in digital formats, I still shop here for the knick knacks and prestige books that I can't get anywhere else. Add onto that their Funko sale and the prices regularly beat Amazon. Top notch store, top notch people. read more

From artwork that you normally get at conventions, comic books (tons in stock), card/board games, and collectibles, The Destination is literally THE destination for everything I get. I go weekly to get comics and they know my name, have my list ready, and give me bags/boards for each thing I buy outside of that list too. Customer service couldn't be better and I'm hooked. Love this place! My mini-me recently learned the joy of comics by my insistence that we enter this store several months ago. We had been at Dee's Crafts around the corner but parked on the side. When I saw the store I got excited and told mini how much I used to love comics when I was her age (13) and would buy the new Flash when it came out at the drug store. She pretty much turned up her nose at me and was ready to hop in the car. Luckily I did not unlock the car and insisted she come with me. The door opens to the Star Trek door opening / closing sound which put me into NERD HEAVEN. And made her roll her eyes when I squealed with delight at the sound. I walked to the back of the store since a My Little Pony Monopoly game caught my eye. (I have a Bronie in the family too) She followed and I suggested she go look at the wall of comics. She huffed and off she went. Fifteen minutes later she had 4 comics in her hand and was HOOKED. Oops. I really never think about money when I endeavor to introduce my kids to my old passions. (It is ok, I will not introduce them to anything equestrian. I am learning my lesson!) She now has her own account there and I am badgered to drive her in to pick up her comics as soon as they arrive at the store! I am super happy that everyone there has been wonderful to her and to me. Even with one mess up by a staff member recommending an inappropriate comic to my daughter, I anticipate a long relationship with this store. (The employee later apologized for this saying he hadn't seen the new comic.) read more

I entered the store intending to buy the first comic book for my son. As I politely said hi I was not greeted nor even really acknowledged while I walked around the store with my son and my husband. Very surprised with the wonderful comic books and figurines as my husband looked at all the different comics they had. We realized that this would not be the place we get our son his first book. As someone who works both my jobs in customer service I am disappointed in a lack of consideration for us as customers. As I walked out my son said bye and waved I also said have a good day, while they said nothing. We will not return nor will we buy anything from there. Have a wonderful day. read more

This is easily the best pop culture, comics, games, and toy store in Louisville! They really understand what the pop culture enthusiast is looking for. They carry current comics; they carry trade paperbacks; they also carry local works, which is awesome! They carry new pop culture toys, but what's even better is they carry stuff that is harder to find anywhere else in town. And what makes it even better, is their prices are awesome! Competitive to what the big box stores charge, or even what you might pay online for the harder to find pieces. For a while, I was watching one of these harder to find items on eBay... But when I first walked in to The Destination, not only did they have the item I was watching on eBay, but they had it at a better price that I have seen anywhere else. They have also offered to try to find another piece I had mentioned. You just can't beat that! I know that other store's in town carry toys, but these other stores seem to charge a much higher price. The Destination also carries some really nice, high end, collectibles. Things that honestly, I've never seen anywhere else. This store really *gets* what a collector wants, what kind of experience we want, and how much we would really like to pay. For gamers, there is a whole room set up for gaming. While I'm not a gamer, I've been to other shops in town that have attempted this, and let me assure you, the difference is like night and day. The Destination's game environment is very clean, very bright, and very comfortable. They even feature an art wall, featuring local and regional artists. It has to be seen!! What really makes The Destination stand out though is the way they treat their customers. Every time I've been in, no matter who was working, I felt like their number one priority. They are friendly, not pushy. I never felt rushed. In fact, each time I've been in, I've had great conversations with whoever was working. It was refreshing to walk in to The Destination, and when I left, I was excited about the experience that I had. While I've seen other shops in the nearby area actually run customers off, or talk down to customers; The Destination makes YOU feel like a superhero! (Honestly, I hope The Destination puts the other shop out of business!) If you're looking for a shop, honestly, you won't do better than The Destination. I don't do reviews, but I was compelled to write this one. That's how much they've impressed me. Even my wife, who doesn't follow comics, loves to go in there.
