This is my awesome dive shop!! They have been my dive shop since they opened. I am a local resident and have been an advanced scuba diver for over 35 years from Seattle. So I would know good from bad. My oldest daughter got certified here when she was a teenager and now my 15 year old is getting certified. They were so well cared for and well instructed and had fun! I have taken classes and rented and purchased equipment here. The owners are extremely knowledgeable and take a great deal of care with their business to provide the highest quality of products and services. My son and I have been customers of The Dive Place for a few years. What I have learned to date is that they genuinely care about their customers; they often go out of their way to ensure every customer is 100 percent happy with their purchase, training, and dive events... I have shopped in other stores throughout FL and a number of other states and countries, and I always feel something was missing, maybe it's a care factor (even a faked one) or just the standard dive shop atmosphere...I have never felt that at The Dive Place; I have always felt part of a close group of friends or family. read more

This place is great. Great instruction, great customer service. Went in to 'look around' (they were 3mins from our house) in the fall of 2021, and ask some questions about snorkeling gear for a trip to Hawaii with our elementary school aged daughters. This event for my wife & I began our re-entry into Scuba and our daughters introduction. The 'vibe' and customer experience lead to us buying the necessary snorkeling gear for the Hawaii trip (Spring 2022) to getting our daughters open water certified (Labor Day 2022) on our youngest's 10th birthday. My wife and I went through an In-Active diver refresher along with the girls. The instruction was excellent, and scaled to the kids pace. We, without exception, enjoy the entire staff, had great interactions and have met/been introduced to some other locals who enjoy diving in and around the Sunshine State. Whether it was renting gear or tanks, taking additional training, buying gear or just coming in to talk to the staff and get recommendations (dive trips/sites/logistics and restaurant options) we couldn't be happier to spend my money and put my trust in The Dive Place. read more

Went in to ask a few questions about an tank that I use for paintball. The old woman was very rude , only yelled NO! At me. The gentleman was very nice , but dose not make up for how rude the woman was . I was willing to give a local place my business . I was even willing so spend a little more money knowing that it was an older tank and to get it hydro tested. They where willing to send tank out for testing which I appreciate. But the fact is a can go out and buy another tank for same or less money then it would have cost me for all the hoops to jump Thu. I would have done all the hoops if the woman wasn't so rude . read more

My daughter and I signed up for the open water certification course. We took the online course and passed. Then, we went to take the water portion. On the first day, we were told we were not getting the skills and needed to go practice on our own by doing some dives and then come back. Being a former swimming instructor and coach, this seemed crazy to me. I have never told swimmers "go practice on your own and come back," I would work with them and show different methods until they learned the skills. But we did it. We did four dives on our own and learned as much as we were able from the instructors at other locations. Then, we came back for the follow up test and were told we had new problems. This time, my daughter could not equalize her ears properly. We were told what we did wrong, but did not get the opportunity to practice it. We were the only people there that day and it should have been possible to work with us on the skills. But another diver showed up and the instructor told us to go practice on our own and went for a dive with her instead. It took four hours of driving and a day off to spend less than an hour in the water before being told "go practice on our own and come back." We do have work to go, that's for sure, but we will not go back here. We will finish our certification with a dive shop that will work with us, not tell us to go learn from someone else, then come back, identity new problems, and again tell us to go learn on our own. read more

This dive shop goes above and beyond. My 11 y.o. nephew, who has a physical disability, has been getting his dive certification here. Every time we come in the store they make him feel extra special, like he's one of the dudes. On his first dive, he was the only student with a dive master and 2 other divers getting a special needs cert. The dive master had spent time prior to the dive to research how best to accommodate my nephew's needs. They made his first dive extra special and he can not wait for the next one. Thanks to these guys for making one little boy, who can not participate in team sports due to his disabilities, feel awesome about himself. read more

I can't emphasize enough how incredible this place is. I was visiting my parents in Florida prior to a spring break trip to Costa Rica and trying ever so hard to find a place that would be able to certify me before the Costa Rica trip. I called the Dive Place and Noel, the owner, did everything he could to help make that possible. Not only did he work around my schedule, even staying at the Dive Place late one night in order to finish my PADI review course with me prior to the in-person diving session the following day, but he also just has the friendliest and most welcoming personality. He clearly has a passion for what he does and he personally worked with me to find the most suited equipment for my budget, body type/swimming style, and diving level. Additionally, Richie, the diving instructor was an excellent teacher. He was patient and took pride in teaching his students how to dive safely and cautiously. I highly recommend this place and will be coming back in the future for advanced certifications. read more
