While, it is a big event, it really wasn't the same at all. It used to be at OU Duck Pond and it's now at Reaves Park. I'm pretty sure it had to move away from the duck pond because of parking issues, but parking was not much better at Reaves. Unless you go very early in the morning while everything is being setup, expect to park in a galaxy far far away. At least it's free parking. The entrance is awkward. You will see the jousters on the outskirts (this is not a design flaw imo because you can't forget where they are) then you wind around a million porta potties and it's like your switchbacking until you finally cross into a clearing filled with booths. It's not quite big enough for the amount of pedestrian traffic there is but I was relieved that the fair hadn't been reduced to an extremely long sidewalk sale. My favorite part is watching the blacksmiths and other artisans who make stuff right of you. I love seeing the Medieval characters that people dream up and prance around in. I love the Human Chess Board and the Mermaids are still there, even though there is no water for them to lay around in. Food vendors are pricy, make sure you know exactly what you want or eat before you go. There is no price for parking or entry so any money you spend is going directly to food trucks or the individuals selling their goods.

I wasn't expecting much, and actually lowered my expectations when I arrived and saw the boring building that looks like it belongs in any strip mall, but the displays were pretty awesome. You could spend days here. The number of different skeletons was staggering and they're organized nicely, with some funny Easter eggs in the displays. Well worth a visit for kids or adults.

I ate at the Lotus food area for the first time. Hands down the best food and cost effective of any of the zoo food! Really liked the decor and atmosphere! Very clean, friendly service! Currently the works are still in progress and tracks are being installed around the court. This facility will serve not only the energy, but local schools. As a young boy my father owned a semi-professional football team that played here (No humble brag here- it was a team that once spray painted their helmets when the other team needed a few of their players to make it an even game. They were lovable and lowly.) And I ran all over this stadium. It seemed like a lost gladiator palace and the bathrooms were not nearly as nice as Rome. Now I take my children to these games and continue to be amazed at all the changes. They have a great family atmosphere. Which is not easy to do given the size of the place and crowds mixed with the healthy beer sales. We loved every minute of the season. The food options were excellent. Multiple trucks were brought in and the concession stand options were above average and priced right. For all those that have suffered through some summer baseball games minor league sports in the hot months can be brutal. But seats on the west side of the stadium are always shaded for games and it was not unusual to see coats in July. The players seem impressed with the field and surroundings and continually remark about the confines. This is high praise form professional athletes who have see the highs and lows of their sports. I can't wait for next season and encourage everyone to make it our for a few games at least.
