This is the best place you could ever leave your dog. Jed obviously loves dogs. My puppy loves to go there and I know she will be lovingly cared for. If I have to go away there's no other place I would take her. I highly recommend The Dog House. read more

The dog house is such an incredible treat to have in my neighborhood. I am a single dog mom and work mostly from home since covid. I got my dog when he was 9 weeks old. The dog house has provided him a chance to socialize and play with other dogs. When we are walking there he is so excited he pulls me down the street to get there. Jed and Vera are great too! I have boarded Bowie overnight as well. Somehow Bowie is trained to not bark and to be a good boy when there .. now if only I can get that to happen at home! read more

Our pup loves the dog house so much we almost feel bad picking him up after a stay and taking him away from his friends! The pictures and videos every day make it easy to know your dog is safe and having fun. When we bring dean home afterwards he's usually so tired from all the playing that he sleeps for a whole day. Jed has helped us out with short notice when we go out of town last minute, and has taken care of our pup for a week. The best part is we can see how much staying there has helped our dog mature. He has really learned how to play and have a good time with other dogs, but also how to relax when other dogs are around. We love the dog house, but more importantly our dog loves the dog house even more and we would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for good hands to take care of their best friend! read more

When you first walk in the dog smell just wafts throughout the place. Cloth couches and cloth chairs and beds!!! Ugh! My dog barks some.... That's not allowed!! My dog peed and he said " I just took you out" LOL!! I was surprised. Jed is very nice but maybe he needs to meditate because he seemed stressed out..., The price is good I guess you get what you pay for. My partners eyes are still puffy 2 days later!!! My pup and I absolutely love the dog house. I bring him there about once a week and every time I walk in there the owner (Jed) greets us with a big smile. You can truly tell Jed and the people that work there love dogs. My dog even starts to get really excited once we're about a mile away, he starts to pace in the back seat and is riddled with excitement. My pup even knows the days of the week and when it's a dog house day our mornings are a lot more energetic. I can't recommend this place enough. They promote good manners and healthy interactions between dogs. We've used the boarding options and while away can see awesome pictures of the dogs everyday on their social media. I was sorry to read some of the negative reviews left here on Yelp. I have a 60lb Australian shepherd that has been going to The Dog House ever since he was a puppy (so over 2 years now). Overall, I've had an extremely positive experience with this doggie day care and especially with the owner, Jed. I chose to use The Dog House for the following reasons: (1) Cozy atmosphere that would feel more like home (2) Indoor and outdoor play areas (3) Comfortable places for short naps throughout the day (3) Friendly doggie friends that aren't overly rambunctious and overbearing (4) Dedicated pooping and peeing area that is separated from their play area, which brings me to my next point... (5) Clean (6) Provides human company (and love) in addition to doggie company (7) Convenient at-home pick-up and drop-off service Notably, my dog loves romping and wrestling with other dogs, but he also loves (and needs) human interaction. I think it's so great whenever I see photos posted on their Facebook of The Dog House staff getting into the fray and interacting with the dogs - especially the ones that show the staff loving on them with big hugs and belly rubs. read more

This is a sad but truthful review of The Dog House. I had a GREAT experience with my first puppy there, mostly because he's a submissive sloth who gets along with everyone. Never a single problem. I got a second puppy who did not have the same sloth-like personality and for several months, I kept both my puppies away from The Dog House out of concern for Jed's small business, as my second puppy was under-vaccinated when I got him from rescue. Jed's main concern when I brought puppy #2 in for his behavioral screening was that the 90 day period of cash I'd put down was near expiration. I'm on a tight budget as it is but felt socializing my dogs was important for their future. Jed was willing to work with me a bit on extending the expiration. Unfortunately, shortly after puppy #2 started in daycare, Jed decided he didn't like the temperament and lack of training of puppy #2 and asked that I not bring him back. Clearly I'm not going to continue to socialize the older puppy and leave the younger one home in a crate to further decompensate. I attempted to speak to Jed about this matter privately but he blocked my messages and essentially stole the remainder of cash in my account in addition to a $50 visa gift card I'd given him for his dog, Ginger's, knee surgery in exchange for cutting my older dog's nails (which he did a mediocre job a single time after several reminders.) He actually had the nerve to say, and I quote, "I told you not to get another puppy." This really boils down to low tolerance for imperfect behavior in a very young puppy, NOT helping to "train your dog", as advertised, and, frankly, taking the money and running. I don't claim that my younger puppy is a peach, but what's the point of claiming to be a dog expert if you can't handle some behavioral issues a couple of times a week? Update based on Jed's reply below: Jed clearly has happy customers. I was one of them, which he has evidently forgotten. Jed can not accept criticism. Jed has either a. a truth-telling deficiency b.a memory issue c. an accounting problem or some combination thereof. I'm unclear as to why he is so defensive about this. Despite the fact that the sole reason I kept both dogs out of daycare for two months RIGHT after purchasing a new $200 package was out of concern for the reputation of his small business, god forbid on of my dogs passed on a communicable disease (namely worms), he still sticks to "your 90 days was up". That is my issue with the cash. He did tell me not to bring my dog back and he did not offer me a refund. Whether it was $5 or $125, if you are a good business person, you offer a refund when you ask your customer not to come back. Period. Especially as a small business person. As mentioned, I did try to handle this matter privately but was blocked from communication. There is nothing in my original review I wrote that is not true. If your dog has any behavioral issue (i.e. squirt pees when he's excited, is too mouthy when he plays, barks too much), this will not be evident in a 15 minute behavioral screening. He or she will not "fit in with the pack". Don't waste your time or money. Just find a new pack. read more

I took my two dogs to The Dog House when I went on vacation for a week. When it was time to pick them up I could tell they were well taken care of and had a great time socializing. The Dog House is run by caring people and has reasonable prices. I love that I can check on my dogs on a daily basis through Facebook. read more

Searched all over the city for a dog day care that wasn't uproariously loud with a crazy frenetic energy. My Shih-tzu is laid back and quiet, stead-fast, but curious and personable. He doesn't want to hang out in a zoo atmosphere. The Dog House is really like a house, a home, and Jed has great energy and wisdom. It felt great the minute I stepped into the place. Some places feel like kennels, period, The Dog House is the opposite. I asked Jed why the place had such a great energy- a calm atmosphere, even though the dogs are playing and involved and active if they want to be-- and the reason is, the dogs that bark and won't stop aren't invited back. They belong in a Barking lot, I suppose. read more

My dog Rosy loves going to the Dog House. Apparently Rosy walks around wagging her tail all day, according to all the photos! I appreciate that Jed vets the dogs he accepts closely to ensure the safety and stability of all the dogs he and staff care for. I don't want my dog at a place where other dogs are creating problems, and if my dog were to develop issues, I would appreciate the feedback and get additional training for myself and Rosy. I wouldn't want to subject all the other dogs to my dog's bad behavior as I think they learn from each other, and I would pull her from the situation without compunction should an issue arise. I think the facility is clean and I have a good nose; I think it smells fine. Rosy comes home tired and happy, and I love looking at the Facebook photos and videos while I'm at work! My Yorkie and I are both big fans of the Dog House and all the folks who work there. Jed has figured out the formula for good service: reliability, affordability and personalized attention. I can tell my dog enjoys spending time with her human and dog friends at the Dog House. Even when she was recuperating from knee surgery, she enjoyed being there in the quiet room -- well attended and still engaged in some healthy activity at the level she was allowed. I could relax knowing she was in good hands. Jed is attentive to her needs and shows a great deal of compassion and understanding about the dogs in his care and the humans who own them. I love seeing pictures he posts all day on Facebook -- it's a great way to keep an eye on them. At pick up time, it's amazing how quiet and well-behaved all the dogs are -- proving that Jed's a great pack leader. read more

We have been bringing our dog to the Dog House on a consistent basis for a few months now. He was previously in another daycare but when I changed jobs that daycare was too far away. When looking for a new doggie daycare I knew what I was looking for...a place that was clean, a place that had ample play space and "chill" space, reasonable pricing, and above all, a staff that I trusted. I brought my dog with me the first time I checked the Dog House out, Jed performed a temperament test on the spot. I knew my dog would pass with flying colors but Jed conducting the test anyways showed me his commitment to making sure my dog fit in with his "pack". Every group of dogs is different and an owner of a doggie daycare should know this, respect this, and protect the pack. Being mindful of the pack showed me that Jed wasn't all about getting as many dogs in there as he could for the money. And based on what I've seen when dropping off and picking up my dog, it seems like there is at least one person a day who comes in with their dog for a temperament test to become a new customer. So he could easily have 50 dogs a day if he wasn't so concerned with the pack. We completely trust Jed to use his knowledge and instincts to know when a dog isn't a good fit and turn them down. Because of this we know our dog is physically and emotionally safe. The store itself is clean. Is there a recognizable dog smell? Ummm yes because the place is full of dogs! However, I can only remember a couple of times (and I am in there almost every day) when the smell was overpowering. In the same respect, in the afternoons when I pick my dog up, I can always pick up on the scent of cleaning products. And my dog doesn't come home smelling terrible even though I know he takes FULL advantage of all of the dog beds. Bottom line is that this is a place where smells are to be expected and the staff does a great job of staying on top of it. The packages Jed offers are extremely reasonable and his hours of 7:30am-6:30pm are perfect for my work schedule. I always get to work on time and I have time after work to run to the grocery store or the gym. If you are not planning on bringing your dog here on a consistent basis (at least 2x/week) I am not sure if I would recommend the packages since there is a reasonable expiration period on them. Lastly the staff, Jed runs a great business and truly cares about my dog. His employees, Grace and David are also great. It's a very enjoyable experience to chat with them when I drop off and pick up my dog. I'm always greeted with a smile and I love taking a mid-afternoon break to check Facebook knowing there will be tons of pictures and videos of my dog and all of his friends. I trust that my dog is safe and happy in their hands. There was an incident where my dog got nipped on the nose by another dog. I probably would have 1) never noticed because it was so small or 2) figured he scratched himself on a toy or stick or his own freakishly long nails. Jed made me aware of the scratch and what had happened. He was very apologetic and explained to me how he treated it. He talked to me about the other dog and I felt confident that I had no reason to worry about another incident. And there have been no other incidents. Our whole family benefits from the care and socialization our dog receives at the Dog House. When we are at the dog park on the weekends we are always sending people to Jed! read more

I brought my dog in for an evaluation and although he passed with flying colors, there is no way I would leave him here! The majority of the time Jed was screaming at all the other dogs for barking. That's what dogs do when they are excited and someone new comes around. It's their nature and that's how they communicate. Barking seemed to really agitate the owner and I can't help but wonder why he is in the business he is if he can't handle a dog barking. It wasn't just the barking either, he was yelling at the dogs over everything, but as soon as an owner came in to pick up his baby the attitude changed completely and suddenly the dog was his best friend. I seriously wanted to follow the owner out and tell him what really goes on there. read more

The Dog House is not run in a professional manner. My fiance and I found the Dog House online and thought we might want to leave our dog there over Christmas vacation, so I called and spoke with Jared, who told us to bring the dog in for a temperament test. I took the dog in for the test and filled out paperwork, and Jared told us there'd be no problem boarding him over Christmas. When I came to drop the dog off a few weeks later - the day we were going out of town - he'd lost the paperwork and made me fill it out again, and also informed me that we needed a different collar (which he hadn't told me before) - so I had to go home, get the other collar, and come back again. At that point he informed us that he might not be able to board the dog after all because of the way he was behaving, and we'd need to have emergency contacts who would be able to come pick the dog up in case it didn't work out. To be fair, the dog is big and rambunctious and was playing roughly with the other dogs, but not doing anything he hadn't done at the temperament test. We didn't have anyone in the area who could take the dog for a week (which is why we were boarding him) but I put down my fiance's parents. An hour later, Jared called my fiance's dad TEN times telling him he needed to come pick up the dog. He finally got through to my fiance, and my fiance was able to reach the Barking Lot - fortunately, they had space and were able to board the dog for the week, and they told us he was great the whole time. I wouldn't recommend relying on the Dog House if you want to be sure you have a reliable place to board your dog, and won't be left scrambling at the last minute - pay the extra $5 a day and use Barking Lot. read more

I found the dog house and Jed several months ago.. From my first meeting during my dogs evaluation and every encounter since I have found the staff and Jed friendly and caring. Brady has separation anxiety and due to my work hours changing I have not been able to bring Brady as consistently as I would like. Yet whenever I bring Brady he is excited and the feeling is mutual, they are great with his separation anxiety and do what they can to keep him happy while there. He made a friend in the large dog area and although my little guy is only 17lbs they foster a great environment for my baby to socialize with dogs of all sizes. I love that I can log into FB and see what my guy is up too during the day. I have found Jed to be very forth coming with information and available whenever I have had questions. I should mention my little guy attended daycare in the past and did not do well. I'm so glad I found the dog house because although Brady still has some anxiety he is truly happy to be there and he loves to cuddle with the staff and I know he is safe and in great hands while I'm away at work. read more

This place is awesome. Jed is great and both of our dogs (an energetic boston, and perky pointer mix) love going here. They play a ton and come back ready to sleep for a day or two which is the best. Our Boston can be pretty noisy when she's playing, but Jed's a complete pro and gets to know each dog's personality and what's play and what's too much. I brought my 6-mo old dachshund puppy here a few weeks ago for an evaluation. He's the sweetest, most playful little guy. Jed put him in with the other small dogs while I filled out paper work, and the pup was doing well. When Jed asked me to come through the office and around to where the dogs were, I did so. As I came in, a hound that was purposefully separated from the other dogs followed behind me. Jed allowed him to come in. My dog, wanting to engage every dog in play, immediately went over to sniff and start playing with the hound. The next thing I knew, the hound growled and snapped at my pup's face. Jed pulled the dog away as I grabbed my squealing pup. He was shaking with fear. Jed apologized and said that dog was "grumpy" and that's why he was over there away from the other dogs. He said he knew the dog didn't like puppies, but "wanted to see how he would do" with mine. I started to notice that my pup's mouth was swelling up. When I lifted his lip, he had blood running down his teeth. I had to rush him to the 24/7 animal hospital because it was after hours. Jed tried calling and texting and was concerned about the dog. He apologized and offered to (and did) pay for the hospital bill. While this was the right thing to do following the incident, the incident is one that should have never happened in the first place. Any dog day care that chooses to board aggressive dogs (I have no doubt the hound had a history of biting other dogs) and let them interact with new puppies coming into the space for the first time, is clearly one that is not following best practices for ensuring the safety of the animals. This was a traumatic experience for me, especially given my dog's sweet nature and my fear that he would develop a fear of playing with other dogs. Again, I think it is one that could be avoided. I am sure there are better, more professional places to leave one's beloved pet than the Dog House. read more

Terrible. well, I can't exactly say that. If you would like to be constantly annoyed by request to pick your dog up early then you are in luck. Even if the owners know you are hours away on vacation. When my fiance and I had gotten back to the dog house to pick up our pup we found several things out of place. Firstly NONE of the toys or bedding my dog was sent there with was returned. The only thing offered for return was empty plastic bags that had contained my dogs food initially. However, my $40 bed or kong toys failed to make it back to me. Secondly, I had been told that my dog was having accidents and experiencing diarrhea. Fine maybe just excitement/nerves. Except she was perfectly fine at home. In attempt to remedy the poopy situation my dog had gotten washed, (without soap of course) and without my consent gotten some fur trimmed of her paws, which to me looked like an attempt to cover up the accident. If your dog weights more than 5 pounds and likes to play around a bit this isn't the right place for them. The staff claims to be professional but seems as though they cannot handle the smallest of issues. read more
