Marissa arrived promptly within the time slot chosen. Our dog, Kahlua, spent a little over an hour in the mobile van getting groomed. After he was done, he looked like an entirely different dog! Of course in a very good way, he was one hot mess prior and we had nicknamed him fur bomb lol The grooming included bath, dry, cut, ear/eye cleaning , nail trim, and external anal gland expression. I asked them to take some of the length off the hair and some of the bulk out (they are double coated). What I got back was a dog that had essentially been shaved down to about an inch from head to toe, all except his tail which is still fluffy. It looks horrid. I would expect that a groomer would give a collie a collie style silhouette cut, not shave the dog all over. Unfortunately you can't put the hair back. By the way, this disaster cost me 81.00, and I am pretty sure they didn't even do a shed out brushing after his bath. Worst groomer experience I have had. So the pricing was extremely high. Not only that, my dogs breed is not to have their hair cut shorter than 1 inch. I specified this before the service and thought the owner of the salon would know this already. My dog came out with fur less than half an inch in some areas, the longest at half an inch max. So his under coat could possibly be damaged and not grow back because of this mistake. At such a high cost for a groom, I expected a better outcome.

I take two of my gals every other month for summer trims, they have sensitive bellies so I always request they not be shaved to avoid razor burn. The last place I was taking them would only follow this request half the time but I have not had a single issue with GDG. They also follow little instructions like leaving a poof at the end of their tails like a lion's or trimming a little mohawk on one of them. The owners are super sweet and very caring, juggling two little dogs can be tricky but they always offer assistance getting them out to my car during pickup. Be sure to call and schedule an appointment though, the can be booked pretty far in advance.

I understand there is limited staff, and I realize they have to turn their attention to other customers and tasks, but I would have liked to watch our dog more through the back windows before committing to leaving her there for the day. I'm guessing there were between 70 and 100 dogs in the play area, and most seemed well-adjusted and content. However, it seemed a bit much, and I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving our dog there. She loves playing but could not connect with any specific dog and was overwhelmed by the many dogs showing interest in her. We watched for at most 10 minutes, and the whole time, she was looking to hide, running from the other dogs with her tail between her legs. The staff was present, monitoring behavior and cleaning up, so the issue for me is the number of dogs, not the staff. I asked if there was a maximum number of dogs they allowed, and without a yes or no, I was told the number of kennels they had, which was over 250. The kennels can hold more than one dog at a time, so it's feasible that 300 dogs could be there if all the kennels were full. The kennels are in a climate-controlled warehouse-type area with individual chain-link "suites" and the regular areas. The difference is a little more square footage, and a webcam comes with the suite. I'd summarize this place as the big box store of doggy daycares where you'll get everything you need, but not necessarily the best experience for the pet. This review is based on my personal experience. I am not seeking a refund, to be made whole again, or for changes to be made. It is simply informative.
