Let me begin by saying that I have an extremely difficult, high anxiety fur baby. I've always had issues finding someone to groom her. Luckily, we found Bark and the owner is a real pet lover herself. She has a great deal of patience with the animals and does an excellent job determining what needs to be done to get my baby in tip-top shape. Just picked up my dog, a 4yo mini schnauzer who gets cuts at least every 3-4 months with no difficulties in the past (he just doesn't like his butt temp taken but what dog does). I'm disappointed. Dog was apparently biting and difficult but their stories weren't adding up. First they said he was fine in the cage but difficult on the table. Then they said he was biting them out of the cage and difficult all around. I was just trying to figure out why he was so "difficult." When we got there and they got him out of his cage, he was perfectly fine. Not biting or nipping/growling at anyone, but his normal self. They were extremely defensive and argumentative when I was just trying to figure out what happened to prevent a similar situation in the future. They were still defensive even after I explained my goal and that I was not trying to blame anyone for anything. I understand that temperaments change but generally this occurs when dogs are threatened or scared. Just be careful here. We did find a few nicks on his belly. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back. FYI: They also have a new policy with no credit card and they text you when they're done with your pup. It's fine except they now charge extra if you can't get to them within the hour for pickup. read more

Bark was great and reasonably priced. I called to see if I could drop off my puppy for a spa day and was told to bring him by. Took about a hour and a half and my bulldog was smelling clean and groomed . The staff was very friendly and loved my bulldog. Bark was great and I highly recommend them. read more

i did alot of research before i took my baby Anywhere. i get Extreme anxiety knowing i have to leave her anywhere for hours. I called the morning to see of they had openings. i got a Noon appointment and the groomer said it would take at least 3 hours. Sigh....so what i did not want to hear So i bite the bullet and took my baby because She needed a haircut for the summer. She was getting restless with all that hair. i talked to the owner upon arrival. The place looked really clean. And the dogs that were there were relaxed and happy in their kennels. No stress. The place smelled decent and the facility was well air conditioned. The area where the pets are groomed has a fence and a lock so the dogs can never run out to the lobby The owner is very passionate about her pets. She has two beautiful Bull dogs. And one is 11 years old. For a Bull dog to be 11 years old and in Texas that in itself is a miracle. The owner and seasoned groomer knows hows her job and does it well. She treats all pets as she would treat her own. That is all I ask. My dog got a great cut down and now she is ready for the San Antonio heat. *** FYI***** She Does not Accept Credit Cards. Ms Forrestine, you went over your dog with a fine toothed - comb and had Hans been "hurt" we are positive that you would have brought it to our attention immediately. We do not know why your dog repeatedly showed signs of aggression, but you insisted that I give you an answer on the spot. Dogs are like humans, they have good days and bad days. I have taken my Yorkie there for her grooming for the last year and a half and, I have never been disappointed! She is slways greeted with open arms and treated very well. The owner, an animal lover and pet owner herself, treats my dogs with the genuine love and kindness. Like any other doting pet owner, I always worry anytime I have to leave my babies...but they are always so sweet and when I pick her up, she looks amazing, and seems like she never knew I was gone. My 12 year old Minature Daschund (who's shennanigans have resulted in the "Please don't bring your dog back here" talk) only goes in for the occasional nail trim and she is treated like she is the most well behaved animal on the planet and has never had issues with the groomers at BARK! ...I've taken my dogs to chain stores in the past...NEVER AGAIN. And it doesn't hurt that Bark! is conveniently located in my neighborhood! read more

I have taken my dogs to bark for about a year now and have not been disapointed ever. Although both my dogs are "short coat" so not needing haircuts, they always come back smelling and looking better. Gloria and her staff are very sweet and it's obvious they know how to take care of dogs. My putbull/hound mix can be quite a handful but she always leaves happy and giving her groomer kisses. I especially like the fact that, when it comes to the nail trim, they cut them short (but not too short of course) wereas other people I've taken them too are way too conservative and any trim they do grows back in a week or two. Their inability to take credit cards can be a bit of a inconvenience at times, but it's not the end of the world as others would have you believe. Overall, if you want your dogs to be treated well and not smelling like something only a dog would find sweet, take them to Bark. read more
