Thrilled with Doggie Castle. My dog has been coming to Doggie Castle for almost a year and it's the best thing for him.  He runs around a big play area all day long and comes home super relaxed and mellow.  He practically drags me inside during drop off because he loves the owners. He greets them with a big hug every drop off!   I called and left a voice mail and received a call back less than  24 hours later!! Super easy!  My dog got an interview right away and he fit right in. He's a little meek and frightens a lil easy but had he no problems because the dogs are well behaved at Doggie Castle. The fees and hours are reasonable, which I love and appreciate. It's big, clean and has a big lot to park. Very happy customer! read more

The Doggie Castle and Maria are great! This was the only place we could find in the area where the ownership makes sure that all of the dogs have proper immunizations and are up-to-date on all of their preventive medications. We would never risk our dog's health at the overcrowded dog daycares that do not make you prove your dog is fully up-to-date. Our dog loves The Doggie Castle and pulls us in the door each time. And because our dog is small, we appreciate that she can spend the cold months in a heated environment. And we don't have to worry about her getting overheated in the summer. My mom and our family brought our puppy to Doggie Castle in Cromwell, CT and we are thrilled. Today was our pups first day, and he's asleep right now- he's been home about 15 minutes and already he's clocked out. He must have had a blast because he normally doesn't nap! It's in a nice area, there's ample parking, it's big and smells clean, both outside and inside the building. It's close by the highway so if you work in Cromwell you can bring your dog there and make it to work in great time. The owner is super friendly. She's organized and makes the entire sign-up and drop/pick up process easy breezy. You feel safe leaving your doggie with her. She knows her stuff and her rules are clear, fair and well written out. Because of this we recommend Doggie Castle to anyone looking for a responsible, solid, trustworthy, friendly, fun, doggy day camp. read more

If you want your pup to have the best time of their lives and not have to worry if they're safe, The Doggie Castle is the best place for them. I've had all my dogs go the 3 times a week for the past 17 years. All I have to say is "want to go to daycare" and they are at the door waiting. I started with my German Shepherd Sadie then soon after added my Australian Shepherd Toby. Shortly after I got Toby, I found out he had epilepsy, thank God for Maria's quick thinking and action when he had a seizure at daycare, she scooped him up and rushed him to the vet on more than 1 occasion. When I got to the vet, I could see how much she cared about my dogs, all of the dogs. Sadie and Toby are gone now but I have 2 other Aussie's going there now. I would never stop my dogs from going to The Doggie Castle, as long as I have dogs they will always go there. read more

Doggie castle was our first chance of socializing our 6 month old puppy clover and it was a great experience last spring as there were no dog parks open due to covid. Clover came home so tired everyday and was treated great by her staff and fellow pups. Knowing she hadn't been socialized, Maria even got us an early drop off the first day so she wouldn't be overwhelmed when she came in. Unfortunately with my work schedule being all over the place it's been hard to commit to scheduling her at doggie castle currently but I would highly recommend them to anyone who can commit to a couple days a week of daycare for their dog. read more

My dog loves coming to the Doggie Castle. He is very TIRED at the end of the day. He gets excited as we are driving into the Doggie Castle. The owner is excellent. She is very friendly and takes very good care of all of the dogs. Pick up and drop off are very quick and easy and you can drop off as early as 7am. The place is very clean. I highly recommend the Doggie Castle in Cromwell as a daycare for dogs. I have been bringing my dog to this facility for over three years. In the morning, when we arrive, my dog can't wait to get out of the car and go inside and play with his buddies. The facility itself, is very clean and spacious with plenty of room for the dogs to play and interact with one another. Maria is great with the dogs. She is very attentive and provides excellant supervision. The dogs are also very responsive to her. I can honestly say that I feel very comfortable leaving my dog in her care. read more

They were okay. My dog was apparently shivering to the workers there. I also thought one of the workers were mean. I saw the difference when I took him to another doggy day care, and he blended better with the dogs. The dog grooming here seems too expensive and they do less of a quality job. read more

I have been taking my baby to daycare at The Doggie Castle for close to 9 years now. Maria is the best and I trust her with the most precious thing on earth to me. I wouldn't be able to work without worry or without having to leave him in a crate for 10 hours a day. He gets socialization with other dogs and grooming has been great and so convenient since it is right there on the premises. I wouldn't leave him anywhere else. If you are looking for doggie daycare and live anywhere even remotely close to Cromwell, look no further- this place is fantastic. I began taking my boxer here three days a week when he was a puppy. The owners Maria & Rick are incredibly nice, responsible, trustworthy, warm, likable people! They are always there, so you will always be leaving your pup with a familiar face. They are also thorough- all dogs are interviewed, and must be up to date on shots (records must be provided), treated for fleas & ticks, etc. The place itself if huge (the largest doggie daycare I have ever seen- and I've looked at many in both CT & MA), and CLEAN! The indoor area has a neutral room (area where arriving dogs can be safely taken off lease, and given an opportunity to get used to all the other dogs before joining in the fun!), little doggie hammocks, etc., and there is a fenced in outdoor area as well. I have a very high energy dog, and each time I brought him home from daycare he was completely exhausted, and I noticed that his behavior improved overall once he started daycare. In addition to daycare they also offer boarding, grooming, and some pet products. I (and my boxer) really miss this place! If I have to go out of town, I still go back to this place for boarding & daycare even though I am out of state. I can't say enough good things about Doggie Castle. Worth every penny! read more

My dog has been going to "school" at Doggie Castle for the past year and he LOVES it....he gets so excited when we pull into the parking lot......Maria is wonderful, she knows so much about dogs and is loving to each dog left in her care.....the cost is more than reasonable particularly when you truly understand what you are getting for your money....the dogs are very happy, well cared for and much healthier - they get exercise, social skills, nap time and lots of love and attention!!! My dog went to different day care first and was miserable.....but now he is the happiest dog in the neighborhood! read more

I am not at all impressed with this place. Have had my dog groomed there three times and each time she came home with a different cut. They don't seem to know how to cut for certain breeds. And, each time the price has increased. Definitely not worth the money for what they do. read more

Unbelievable experience at The Doggie Castle! I needed to watch my grand puppy for a week while my daughter took a well deserved vacation, but we just had new floors installed and got new furniture! Yikes! The answer? Doggie daycare...but not just any daycare would do for my grand puppy! The Doggie Castle exceeded all of my expectations - I thought he would just be supervised, but no, he was LOVED - and I was educated about anxious dogs- my daughter works from home so she is able to cater to his every whim. When he first got there he wouldn't go in, but Maria was firm (with both of us) and saId he'd be fine. Well, it turns out he wasn't just fine - he's a social butterfly and absolutely loved his week there- he made so many new friends! It was a big adjustment for us having a puppy we didn't know for a week, but Maria took it all in stride- she made sure he had all of his vaccinations to protect him and the other dogs so she's completely business minded, but also completely loves the dogs in her care. It's a clean, welcoming place and I swear you can see the dogs smiling! He couldn't wait to jump into the car to go to school! Oops- I almost forgot about the grooming they offer- how convenient is that? My grandpuppy looked so beautiful that when I sent his picture to my daughter she couldn't believe it! My dog has been going to The Doggie Castle in Cromwell four or five days per week for several years. He started going there when he was about 6 months old and he absolutely LOVES it. He gets excited just driving there every day. On days when he doesn't go to daycare, he actually misses playing with his friends. He is well-socialized with other dogs and very well cared for. As a pet owner who works, I really appreciate that he isn't home alone, he's safe, and gets so much exercise. The large indoor/outdoor facility is very clean. It also gives me peace of mind knowing all the dogs are up to date on shots, etc. and only good temperament dogs are accepted. My dog went to other daycares....... but he was nervous and isolated at those other facilities. My dog even gets groomed at The Doggie Castle, which is very easy and so convenient. I never worry about him for a single minute while he's at daycare and would be lost without Maria (the owner) and The Doggie Castle! Your dog will thank you for bringing him or her here and you will have a happy dog. read more
