I thought this place was ok, although the last 2 times my little puppy did not want to go. In fact, the last visit there I watched the guy pull her into the back, I should have known then. When I picked her up her behind was covered in feces. I couldn't figure out what the smell was until we got home. How heck do you send a dog like that... I don't even know what happened. She's never had an issue with pooping and it's never been stuck to a backside before. We will never return. read more

We occasionally bring our dog here. He's excited when he thinks we're going to Ruff Life. He's nervous in the car that we may not be going to Ruff Life. When he gets to Ruff Life, he's freaking out with excitement. And the Ruff Life crew is happy to see him too. They are very professional and quick to provide service. When I pick up our dog at the end of the day, he's tired because he obviously had a good time. And he almost never needs to go to the bathroom when he leaves or drinks a bunch of water at home, which means they're taking care of his needs. I highly recommend Ruff Life based upon our experience. Also, it's always a hoot to see all the dogs running around in the "hockey rink". 5 Stars read more

We love this facility for our dog, Finnigan. The staff treat your pet like family and we so appreciate them for it. Recently, we had an emergency in the family and they graciously boarded our Finny last minute which was one less worry at a very stressful time. They truly appreciate your business and take great care of your dog/dogs. The management and the staff are all professional and take amazing care of the dogs. I also get my Nico groomed there. This dog daycare facility is fairly new here in Newington. The staff are welcoming and obviously very dog loving. Dog day care should be about socializing with staff and dogs. Last time I used them, my 3 dogs came back grinning, happy, and tired, because as we all know, "a tired dog is a good dog." Clean! Best do it yourself baths :) my big old boy needs an easy tub to get into and the owner needs an easy tub to wash him in , this place checks the boxes . Plenty of towels and the blower works great. These are a big deal with a big dog . The boarded dogs looked happy and silly being adorable through the glass. The customer service was wonderful and they were super helpful and attentive. A perfect place for a dog person so glad it's in my town ! read more

Just picked my dogs up from spending the week at What a Ruff Life. They had the best week and Diane sent me daily updates and pictures! I agree with the other 5 star reviews. This place is perfect. It's clean and new and everything is good quality for the dogs. They have all ages, sizes and breeds playing together but they can also separate the smaller dogs into their own area if need be. There are cameras on the different areas and you can see everything on the screen behind the reception desk. The dogs get a lot of exercise and attention. The staff that I met so far- Mena, Tony, Diane and Bruno are good people who obviously love the dogs. After a few times at daycare we decided to board our dog here for an extended stay. They are communicative and reassuring and even send pictures! read more

What a fabulous new business in Newington! We attended the Open House this past weekend and went on a tour of the facility. It is just beautiful! It is perfectly set up with lots of space! Everything is custom made for dogs! The owners are so genuine and very proud of their new business and it shows! Our pup went in today for a drop in play time after being evaluated and was cared for very well. She was not nervous or scared while there and was wiped out when she got home. The facility is meticulously clean and the staff and front office is extremely well organized and friendly. Not a good place for younger dogs. They want them to take too many naps. And barking is a no no! Toni and Diane nice at first then very rude! Good place only for senior dogs that nap all day.. and watch them with your payments keep all receipts as they try to double charge. I don't know who loves What A Ruff Life more...my dog or me! I have been taking my dog there for boarding and doggy day care since they opened, and it is absolutely the most awesome place. She has so much activity while she is in day care that she comes home exhausted and wants to sleep all night. The facility is very clean and the staff is wonderful.
