Our little Poppy Hoppington just completed the distraction course at 9 months old. She was a happy, healthy and explorative puppy who pused limits before she went to visit the Doghouse. She loved to tear up newspapers, tissues and all sorts of paper. She ate headphones and remotes. She listened when she wanted to and turned everything into a keep agame. She is still the happy loving pup she always was but now she has boundaries. She doesn't pull me on walks, she doesn't jump up like she used to and will stop when given a command. She has yet to grab a remote, we are still careful with them especially when we aren't in the room. The transformation it incredible! Carrie, Samantha and the whole Doghouse gang are highly recommended! Thank you for laying a good foundation for us to follow! We are happy and proud to be part of the Doghouse family! Carrie is the best trainer!! I took my lab to her for basic obedience but then again to be service dog trained. He goes to them for vacations (ok my vacations he goes there for boarding) and every few feels he goes to them for daycare and breaks to play with his friends. He is always super excited when he gets there so I feel comfortable leaving him. I trust Carrie and her Doghouse crew and recommend then 100 percent!! Well I finally decided I needed the best to help e again. Axel and I drove from Virginia Beach to Pinellas Park for the 3 week board and train/distraction. What a smart man I am! Axel had some serious distraction issues and was was dog aggressive more often than not. He is very high energy and had trouble being calm when we wanted him to. We left our beautiful miniature dachshund at the Dog House for a week recently. We were nervous as we had a mediocre experience at a different place a few months ago. We were thrilled to pick our puppy up and see that he was (and still is) happy and healthy. The folks here took really good care of our pup. We had some confidence that all would be ok because everyone we met, on the phone and in person, was very nice. Was till a bit nervous anyway. I took my dog here for boarding because we were going out of town and our hotel would not allow dogs. Everyone was very friendly. They showed me the facilities. It is not a luxury place, but they are professionals that know how to handle dogs. They told me that they are upgrading their floors. The building was a little hard to find because they do not have a sign for their business. It is a big teal building that has a sign for a pest control company or something. Overall, they took good care of my dog and offered him a bath for $15 when we dropped him off. That was an amazing deal for my 70 lb dog! Including the bath, the bill came out to $105 for a 3 night stay. I was very pleased and will come here again the next time I need to board my dog. read more

Carrie is, in a word, AMAZING! She helped turn my awesome but extremely high energy GSD and transform him into the lovable, easier-to-manage knucklehead that he is. Both Carrie & Ivan have won many awards and accolades and I totally entrusted my protection training to Ivan. Carrie worked WONDERS with our big puppy and I couldn't have been happier to have them work with him. Love, love, love these guys and am sad that we no longer live in FL. My wife and I currently have two dogs that were fully trained at The Doghouse and two that have been through brief sessions there. They are the most well behaved dogs I have ever had, and I've had a mess of dogs. I've always had reservations and heard horror stories about having someone train my dogs and now realize just how wrong I was. This is so not the case here. The Doghouse staff is very professional and has many accomplishments to be proud of. They treat your dog like family and you with respect. Four years ago, I drove two hours to drop of my crazy six month old German Shepherd pup for a two week training session. Two weeks later I picked up a very well behaved young dog with solid commands and an awesome temperament. Our Golden retriever went though the same training program as well, with the same results. I knew they were very well taken care of by how happy they appeared in the videos I was sent showing their progress. (That and the fact they weren't sure if they wanted to leave) Our rescue (German Shepherd) had some fear/aggression issues which were easily corrected by Carrie working with us for a couple hours, showing me the proper way to go about socializing a dog in her condition. Carrie, I know it's been awhile since I've sent you a progress report. There wasn't all that much to report as Bailey steadily fell into line. I received compliments from people all throughout the neighborhood regarding her improvement. People whom I have never met before watched me walk with her and saw her go from the wild child to controlled kid. Yesterday, a woman whom I have never spoken to stopped me as I was walking with both pups and said, "You have such wonderful dogs. They are walking so nicely right beside you, not pulling ahead of you." And today one of my neighbors down the street from me stopped as she was pulling out of her driveway to say HI to me and the pups. Bailey, who is still occasionally timid with some adults, wagged her tail softly at my neighbor's warm welcome. My neighbor said, "She has come such a long way and is such a sweet dog." But the real test was when I took Bailey to my vet today, her first return trip there since the initial time I attempted to take her there right after adopting her in January. My vet had been apprehensive and had pre-alerted me that if he wasn't able to examine her he would have to refer me somewhere else. I wouldn't want to go anywhere else though, I really like my vet and feel as though the office is the best I've been to in all my years of pet ownership. Today's visit wasn't a run of the mill exam either since she had a couple of seizures in the past couple of weeks, so the vet needed to be able to draw blood. Bailey was on her best behavior. She was a bit timid, but she did great with meeting the vet tech and then the vet. We were able to draw blood comfortably through team work. And then Bailey got to meet the other vet tech on her way out. She was a happy little pup. My vet didn't think Bailey could be rehabilitated when he first met her, so he referred me to someone else whom he refers all behavioral consults to. I contacted his reference and was not impressed and didn't feel at all comfortable about working with his referral. I then found you online and you seemed like the solution to all of Bailey's issues, unknown and known. I am so glad to have been right. My vet was also incredibly impressed. So impressed that he asked for your information before I left which I gladly shared. Thank you again for your assistance with the puppy monster. She is a favorite with many of the neighborhood children and my nieces are enamored of her whenever they get to Skype and see me with the pups. read more

Amazed!!! I took my 1 year old lab to meet Carrie and discuss the training options. My boy has had training all of his first year but he would still get excited by people dogs birds or anything that might play with him and I was at the end of my rope with no control. When we met Carrie she recommended he stay at her kennel for 3 weeks to be trained by her..I cried but knew we had to do something because my goal is for him to be my service dog so it was best for us both...or so I hoped. Week 1 was terrible I missed him so much but knew if I went to visit I would be bringing him home so I stayed busy....at the end of week 1 she sent me a video and my jaw dropped! There was no way that good smart dog was mine...I must have watch that video a 100 times. Then I felt much better she continued to send occasional videos and photos and it got much easier now he is home and so well behaved yes I still have to work with him...changing how I was was my first step we are growing closet and stronger!! For anybody wanting dog training with some sort of humane decency and customer service AT ALL, DO NOT even try and waist your time looking at The Doghouse, LLC. I have waited and waited on this these people for THREE MONTHS for training and received nothing but the run around, nonstop. I wanted the absolute best training for my dog and thought this was the avenue to take only because of her supposed background, I was clearly mistaken. They never return calls, told me they would call by specific dates to schedule appointments for training and wouldn't for weeks; and continue to tell me he needed extremely expensive boarded training every other phone call, which he did not!! I was told Carrie took 30 days off. That's understandable. However, what about the 30 days before and 30 days after to schedule any appointments with my puppy? Not one phone call could they schedule an appointment, it was the assistant or Carrie unsure of when to schedule anything, ever. Then I finally got a hold of the assistant and she told me there is an availability late September. This is after I called back twice without a returned call when the assistant stated she would call back almost two weeks prior (two weeks before that, 07/09/12). Seriously? In the meantime, my puppy turns 8 months old, started eating the trash, now is biting us, and turned into a wilder puppy. When it comes to the well-being of my family I have patience and try and keep my cool, but this staff and Carrie has absolutely no respect for her clientele whatsoever. The assistant went on to state I was not even a paying customer (on the phone), as if I didn't matter. How dare she speak to me that way! Just think, if this is how these people treats customers, imagine how they treat your dog. I'm disgusted. If I could rate it a zero, I would. read more

Incredible, all-around full service training facility! Clean, professional and the dogs are well-cared for. So happy to have found The Doghouse. When my German Shepherd turned 1 1/2 I started to worry that she was becoming too boisterous with my children and was also beginning to fence fight with the neighbors' dogs. Things were getting out of hand. Carrie assured me that she could help us. I was nervous leaving her but they sent us so many pictures, videos and messages during her stay that I was reassured she was not only doing well but also having fun! And after just 3 weeks with Carrie and Sam at The Doghouse my German Shepherd came home to me a more calm, reliable version of her adorable, playful self. They taught us how to communicate with her and understand her new commands. They gave us as many of these lessons as it took for us to be able to understand them well. They hold monthly group refresher courses to help us remember these lessons - just another way The Doghouse has followed through on their promises.
