I went to their new location in Hillsboro this morning. I usually buy bagels or donuts for our business's Saturday morning meeting so I thought I'd give The Donut Hole a try. They were a HUGE hit! I will be coming here often. It is only 4 minutes from home and the donuts are some of the best I've ever had! They were very busy with eight customers in front of me, but they took care of everyone quickly and with a smile. The Donut Hole is a great new business and I welcome them to Hillsboro! read more

I really feel terrible that this is the first review, however this place had nothing going for them. Let me begin by stating how stoked I was to have a boutique donut shop in Jefferson Co. again. The good. The "bakery" was pretty clean and looked quite nice. Now the bad. I quoted bakery because according to the owners sister she currently doesn't bake them in house. Furthermore the donuts are already 12 hours old by the time they open as they are baked the evening before. The donuts were mediocre. Having no distinguishing characteristics. In fact I wouldn't be shocked to find out they were store bought and they were reselling them. Frankly for my money I would prefer to drive an extra 10 min to Arnold and have Dunkin' or to SoCo for Krispy. --Disappointed. read more

The old long haired guy is a complete jerk I went in there not knowing what donuts I want and I was debating with my girlfriend trying to find out which ones we wanted. We would pick one and he would say what else after every time we picked one. I got a dozen thinking it was the smaller count but then halfway through I wanted a half dozen and he got mad because he got the big box instead of the little one. He kept talking about it after we said sorry to him multiple times. Never coming back with that is ridiculous I was ready to put the donuts back and walkout. read more

First I'd say the shop is very clean and staff has always been polite. Prices is reasonable. The donuts look nice but are just average in taste. Reminds me of going into a gas station and buying a donut. Okay but nothing special. They are only 10 minutes away from where I live. I hope they "tweak" there recipes I'd be there much more often. read more

I'll start off with saying they close at 12 on Sunday's (found that out after). This was my second visit to get donuts on the weekend. First visit was great, this one not so much. Went with high hopes of fritters, cream filled, and chocolate long johns, but left with the leftovers not many people want. It was 10:15am and as I walked in I was surprised to see the lack of donuts in the case. Of course still got donuts :) ,but they ended up not being as fresh or as good as I hoped. So overall, I will defiantly go back and give them another chance and recommend that you do as well. But if you want more than lemon, glazed, and a few other options that have been sitting there all morning, I would go before 9am. read more

We love the Donut Hole and visit often. It's nice to have place nearby to get fresh donuts in the morning that isn't a chain. Sure they don't have a ton of unique specialty donuts but they have some fun flavors to choose from. My personal favorite is their apple fritter - it's perfectly crispy on the outsides and warm and soft on the inside. They also have something that is a folded donut with cheesecake-like filling and a toasted topping. It is so good- we call it a crack donut in our house. The staff is also super friendly; they are always polite to everyone - even the kiddos. Glad to have you in the area! read more

Stale, clearly not made on location but shipped in. Was excited to try them and have a close donut shop to take the kids, but it was just disappointing. The real downer was the really long "hair" that was found upon getting the box home and opening the top. So gross!!! And they are a relatively new location for having things like this happening already. Hopefully they get better, but at this time I would rather just drive the extra time to Arnold, or Fenton. read more

I went in about 8am on a Sunday to grab a dozen--tried the chocolate long johns, glazed, cake, custard, chocolate French, and cinnamon twists. The dough was not the tastiest I've had (just a hint of the harsh, slightly bitter taste you get from grocery-store bakery donuts) and they were not incredibly soft & fresh as to warrant 4 or 5 stars, but if you live close by, a perfectly passable place to get your donut fix. read more

I've went to their new Hillsboro location twice. The prices are a little steep for donuts. Their fritters are probably the best in this part of Jefferson County, but are no where as good as The Donut Stop on Lemay Ferry. The Donut Hole's fritters are half the size and more expensive. Will keep driving to the The Donut Stop. read more
