Of all the churches I had attended in my hometown and in my church-visits in Eugene, Harvest did the best job of balancing respect for COVID guidelines and fostering a place of hospitality. We've been attending for more than a year, and have really felt the love of the congregation! I love the way that they are dedicated to loving and serving the area. They aren't just a 'club' or interest group that gets together on Sunday mornings, but they make an impact on the neighborhood they're in. This church is run more like a business than a church and the people attending are seen more as worker bees than individuals. We thought we had made some genuine friendships, until the moment we decided to leave when it became clear that those friendships were not true. Those "friends" never reached out to us again and will even pretend they don't see us in public. This same thing has happened to others we know who have also left, and the more we learn about this church and the others in the network the more we realize it is all by design. Like I said above, if you are looking for a good church in Eugene there are plenty to choose from and while this church may appear great upon first glance, it is not a great place to be long term.
