Ever since we had such a wonderful experience with ordering and the installation of our front door from The Door Store, it was easy to go back for another door need. Our latest purchase is the full panel glass door to my office. This opened up the space and I don't feel so confined. At the same time, the sounds from the adjacent family room don't interfere. The installer was professional and friendly. He knows his trade and not only ensured the door was working as it should, but also cleaned up the bit of wood shavings that dropped on the floor. Went to the door store after researching "speakeasy" doors. Excellent experience buying and getting a lovely front door. The great rustic looking door was installed yesterday, and it's fantastic. The salesman who helped us was the Door Store's owner. He was personable and low pressure, giving us time to think about the purchase and call him back to pull the trigger on an estimate that was good for quite awhile, and was lower than the other door providers in the Denver area we checked. The installers, Alex and Nick, were great, obviously very well experienced, and did an outstanding job. If we need another door, this is where we'll go. read more

Very nice door! If you are good with saving lots of money, they are great! Choice of material and style is where you are going to see the difference. I wanted beveled glass, but to do that it would have been special order and thousands of dollars more, so we didn't do it. I also wanted a half side light glass windows, but was talked into full glass. I do like the full glass, but worry my dog will just sit there and bark all day. One thing I'm not impressed with is the fill holes around the glass windows, they are not fully filled, so looks cheap. I will reach out to see what can be done. I have had 3 people notice it. We made a trip to the door store on recommendation from a house renovator friend. We were greeted by the receptionist who said a salesperson would greet us shortly. After browsing for a minute we were greeted by a man who had a hard time answering a single question without being combative. I asked what's the typical install cost for a standard front door. He replied "I can't answer that unless you pick out a door and options" in a very condescending tone. If I was the sales person I would have given 3 examples of different recent installs with different price tiers. ("Here's a recent fiberglass install with color paint, here's a mid tier wood stained door install, and here's our top of the line option.) Our house was built in the early 60s and we said we are looking for something mid century styled. He replies "I don't even know what that means." I asked if there was someone here who does know what that means and he smirked and replied: "I'm the owner." Guess what buddy, I'm the customer, and your customer service skills absolutely blow. One of the worst customer experiences I've had in a while. We visited this store before reading reviews and I'm glad we didn't get wrapped up in any of the B.S. other customers have posted about relating to poor quality doors and installs. read more

We needed to replace our front door. We started at the big box stores and realized we needed a more custom solution. We walked into the Door Store 30 minutes before they closed, and Skip was super helpful/knowledgeable and even stayed late to help us. We ordered a 46" door that they painted black on the exterior to match our shutters and cream on the inside to match our inside trim. Phil did a great job communicating on the installation. The door was successfully installed in a few hours and the installer did a great job. The only con I would say is that they have 1 general email for everyone who works there and sometimes emails were not timely in responses, but it ended up working out fine, just required a few more phone calls/follow up emails to nail the paint color, get a sample, etc. Were very happy with the door and it enhances our curb appeal. read more

We had a door installed last summer and experienced severe cracking in multiple spots of the door within 90 days and after several attempts to communicate with this company, they haven't responded once. Well, that was the condescending manner in which I was treated by the owner, Tom Boutin, when I came in. He brushed me off like he couldn't be bothered despite me knowing exactly what I was looking for. His tone and demeanor were disrespectful, passive-aggressively insulting and unacceptable. Well...his mistake, (big mistake...huge) I purchased that $10,000 door from his competition. Good thing, too, after now reading all of these "one-star" reviews. We were so excited to find a "local" company that sold doors. We visited the showroom and met Skip who is the lead salesperson who was quite friendly and helpful. We paid about $2K (50% deposit) and waited for the 6-8 weeks for install. The owner, also a lovely gentlemen, came to our home to do the measurements and was quite friendly and helpful. These two interactions were the LAST TIME anyone from the Door Store bothered to response to my emails, questions and concerns. The installation took place right before Thanksgiving and while polite individuals the installers left a mess and damaged the door frame. I sent multiple emails to Ken with no response. They never followed up to ask if we were satisfied nor did they respond to my requests to fix the damage caused by the installers. The quality of the door is good (it should be as the cost for a basic door was about $4K), the service is terrible. We would never use them again nor would be recommend them to anyone!!! read more

We could not be more pleased. Our master closet had a door that swung in. It really blocked access to the closet. We were looking for a barn door type set up but didn't want the tradition hardware as our home is more modern. They showed us the Houdini hardware which is invisible. LOVE IT! We then looked at the doors. What a great selection. We picked one with frosted glass and they painted it the color we wanted. In addition we need to change the locks on three exterior doors. We chose the keyless entry kind. They came and did the entire install in about half a day. They were very efficient and did a quality job. The Door Store is a great value for the merchandise and service provided. If we need future doors or hardware we will definitely go back there. read more

We normally steer clear of companies with low ratings (2.6 stars on Yelp), but we gave The Door Store a chance based on a friend's recommendation. Shame on us--we learned the hard way that our friends were the exception, not the rule. *Poor Quality* The door we received never should have passed quality control. The poor craftsmanship was apparent, with crooked decorative panels, misaligned/poorly sized window framing, a sloppy paint job, and uneven top panels. The door hardware was installed improperly, which we fixed ourselves. We could have purchased a far superior door from Home Depot for a fraction of the cost. The installers also broke bricks around the door, which we now have to pay to repair. *Poor Service* When we raised these issues, they sent the same person back, who somehow made things worse. It took WEEKS of emails, phone calls, and stops into the shop to get the company to acknowledge and address the problems. While they eventually took the door back for refinishing, the door is now just passable, and we're still left with a low-quality product with poor construction, paintwork that looks ok from a distance, and a door lock that is difficult to use. *Poor Business Management* This company isn't great at running a business. All employees share a single email address, and there seems to be one person handling everything--from complaints to installations to scheduling--who is often unreachable (nonetheless - props to Phil as he's probably the only reason these guys are in business). At one point a scheduled appointment was cancelled because all of their installers walked out. Learn from our mistake: do not work with this company. read more

A premium price for substandard service... One star because that's the lowest Yelp will allow. Where to start? We ordered front and rear doors in early January with a target date of mid-March. By May, after several last minute reschedules and one no-call/no-show, and after threatening to cancel the order and my deposit they delivered the front door and 1/2 the work on the back. By mid-June we had both doors installed. Installation quality was poor, I spent a week picking up trash, nails, and screws from around the site. They never tested the deadbolt which only worked from the inside and on the first hot day the front door swelled enough that it wouldn't open. I made several attempts to contact and they refused to respond to calls for service, promising "I'd get an email tomorrow". I finally hired a locksmith who was able to make everything fit and work correctly. If you want a positive experience, take your business anywhere else. read more

I would not hire the Door Store again. After spending several thousand dollars and almost 8 months to deliver (was supposed to be 3) the doors were not the quality expected. Glass was scratched in one door. One door had to be refinished. They removed grout at threshold and didn't tell us until we noticed the gap. Owner refused to fix until he was good and ready to come out. So it stays unfinished until next year or until we fix it at our cost. A door knob they installed does not adequately turn without fighting it to open and close. The owner is the most unpleasant person to deal with. It's difficult to just get them to answer the phone. Just be aware. I wish we had researched better. read more

Our doors were installed over 2 months ago but they installed the handles very unevenly and need to fix the weather stripping - both of which they have acknowledged need to fixed. But they have been very unresponsive. We spent thousands of dollars on these doors and are very unhappy with the unfinished work. BUYER BEWARE. If I could give these guys a worse review I would. Hands down the biggest bunch of crooked idiots I have ever dealt with especially a fella named Tom. We used them for a custom job and they performed all measuring but they couldn't even do that nor could they deliver the right product on time in over four months. They have the brain power of an undeveloped monkey. We build houses faster than these guys measure doors. Tom is a crusty old guy that can't do his job or any job there including customer support. He doesn't understand customer service or even the products that they even sell. The growth in Denver appears to have allowed this company to thrive but believe me if you want these products do not use these guys. Use Mountain View Windows and Doors or Western Pacific or these guys if you want to me ripped off and severely disappointed. In addition if you use these guys make sure you don't pay until you have all the correct product in hand and measured to fit because if it is wrong these guys will not make it right. read more

We ordered French Doors from the Doorstore, to be installed between our living room and enclosed porch. They are beautiful. Had to wait a looong time for them to be delivered. Did a remodel and addition this year and had to go back to The Door Store so our doors would match. This experience was exponentially worse. The salesman I dealt with always got it wrong and always tried to smooth things over with BS. Went to the owner who seems to have trained the salesman from the depths of his own personality. This is a terrible company. The initial process and ordering the door was fine. They sent someone out to measure the door to make sure they could order correct. The person who came out was the owner. When the door came it was about 2" short on each side, so total of 4" difference. Luckily they can use trim to fix, but they also measured the base wrong. I am still waiting for them to come take care of this two weeks later. I have also received emails asking for final payment. During the demo process the more experienced installer was training a new staff member, he had told him to be careful as the house is 1900. told him to cut out as much as he could. On the last item of the door that could have been cut out the guy starts yanking on it and the plaster in the house falls out. The installer apologized and said they would fix it. they also messed up the paint on the door and incorrectly painted the interior black, and blamed it on me saying it wasn't in the paperwork that their employee wrote down. I was there the entire installation and hear the installer talking to his boss, explained the situation and what he told me. I get a call after he hangs up from the company and they tried blaming the broken plaster on the house and said they won't fix it. I have had terrible experience. my door isn't complete, its an inch short, they won't come when they tell me and expect me to wait at home all day. When they miss their window they try to schedule me a week out. I am going to have another company come finish. I will pay the agreed upon amount less the cost for the new company to come fix. read more
