He replaced our garage door springs, one of which was broken. My garage door had been broken for months all after I changed it to "manual" setting during a power outtage and then was never able to figure out how to get it back on track, despite numerous You Tube videos watched. After my boyfriend tried (unsuccessfully) to help but actually broke it even more, I knew I needed a professional. I had read reviews for this company and was not disappointed. Adam explained about the springs that could let go and fly anywhere in the garage. My garage door is 18 years old and had become very noisy. He installed a safety cord through the springs so if and when the springs fail, they will not fly off. Adam serviced the door and now runs much quieter. He also installed a keypad that I had but did not know how to program it. Not only was the design consultation extremely helpful, but the entire process of installing our garage door was painless and actually pleasant. Between purchasing the door and replacing it, our old garage door stopped working - these guys were there the next day to fix it in order to hold us over. This garage door opener had been on borrowed time for the last 10 or so years...but its career in my service ended. Team Doorman showed me the options, including prices. Were very clear about the uncertain duration of one solution vs. replacement options. No sales push to go one way or another. Good service - they came within a day of calling, at the time of my preference. The serviceman called ahead of time, he was competent, he explained how the door failure occurred, what he was doing to fix it and how to keep from having problems in the future. There was a mild sales pitch for further products but it was not heavy-handed and was appropriate considering the age of my garage door and system. The only problem I had was that they were still charging a 5% fuel service charge, after gas had dropped to $1.60, and charged not only for service time but also for drive time (I'm glad I live close). read more

We had our door installed by The Doorman decades ago, and they came out this week and quickly updated the motor and all controls. It was an effortless upgrade and our door operates quieter, smoother and relieved a few anxieties when the safety beam would turn off. The "wrinkle" was that my car's Homelink would not work, and I tried, tried, tried to no avail. We asked the company and their representative (shout out for Shawn!) researched and figured out the year of my car was making in incompatible and he found the solution for me. FANTASTIC! We were in dire need of garage doors and sometimes when that is the case you get worked on price and receive crappy customer service just because you really need it. That wasn't the case here. The installers were professional, I never got a creepy feeling. I totally trusted them at my home and in a garage full of what I consider to be treasures. When we went through the details of how to use the new gadgets we had added to the garage doors and openers they informed me of a suspicious car that was continually driving down our road (dead end) and also grabbed the mail that was being dropped off by the postal service. Now that's what you call above and beyond. Also, when we recieved our quote it was done in a timely manner and all questions were answered before install. After working a full stressful day, I came home to watch my garage door only move about 8". After checking on the inside the spring had sprung, ugh. Thankfully right by my inside opener button was the Doorman sticker. I called and left my info. They promptly returned my call the next morning and had James at our home within the hour. James replaced both springs, adjusted the chain, lubed the entire system, and checked the batteries in both my car remote and the keyless entry. I had a damaged garage door, so I looked on Yelp and found Doorman Service Co. Since it was close by, and had good reviews here, I decided to give this local and family-owned company a try. They did not disappoint. When I called in, a friendly gentleman answered the phone, listened carefully to my questions, and answered my questions thoroughly. He said he could have Adam here in 45 minutes. Almost exactly 45 minutes later, Adam showed up. He fixed the door very quickly, was totally professional and polite, and even identified a safety issue that I had never considered. How much did this cost? Let's say I got a VERY good deal. My garage door extension springs broke...very dangerous and I tried to remember Doorman Services whom I had done repair work years ago. I started looking and after many tries I did find them by Googling. They setup a time frame when they could survey what needed to be done. The next team came to repair it, gave me information on repairing it with the old type of equipment which was unsafe or go with another option. When I chose the new option they gave me cost, time it would take to repair. They pair worked diligently the whole time it took to install and get the door cycling right...about an 1 1/2 hrs. My car was locked inside my garage and they solved the problem by replacing a 43 year old garage door opener with one that was up to code and really inexpensive. In a matter of hours! Shawn, Adam and Kim were all so pleasant to speak with when consulting them about a garage parts purchase. Above and beyond does not begin to describe this team. I was getting ripped off by an independent contractor who was installing an auto garage door opener, trying to charge me $170 for an additional part. I saw it on Amazon for $30 (!!) but needed it same day. I called Doorman, they charged me the same as Amazon, went to pick it up. They exposed his other lies and warned me of paying what basically amounted to extortion money when the contractor did not finish the fully paid job properly but asked an additional $250 for an unnecessary part/work. He left fully paid, me with a malfunctioning garage door. I ended up having Adam come out to fix this guy's work, which he did for a fair flat fee and completely checked, secured, and fixed all 3 doors. Peace of mind is so important when trusting a business for their expertise. I really felt like they had my back! I'm now a lifelong customer and will sing their praises to all my contacts in need of garage services. Honest, reliable, personable, punctual, professional.
